I hated how disappointed I felt, and also how helpless. However, the feeling of Anthony’s hand twitching in mine gave hope. I leaned in closer to get a clearer look at his face as the three of us huddled close to his hospital bed. His hand was twitching ever so slightly once again in mine, but this ti sothing felt very different. It felt like I could not just feel his movent but also see it as I stared closely at his eyelids.

"His eyelids are moving. I’m sure of it," I said excitedly.

"As I said, these are nothing but random movents," Diana said, but this ti her eyes focused on Anthony’s face.

It felt like the air in the room shifted as the three of us focused our attention on Anthony’s eyes to monitor their movents. When his eyelashes fluttered, I knew for certain that I hadn’t just imagined things.

"Please wake up," I said as I gave his hand a squeeze.

Just like magic, all our prayers from just a mont ago were answered all at once when Anthony’s eyes fluttered once again before slowly opening. Emotions ca over and I could hardly breathe as I stared at his face. It felt like watching a child slowly waking up from a peaceful slumber or a man slowly coming back to life.

"Anthony! Anthony!" Brandon called his brother’s na loudly.

For once, everyone was in agreent that the movents I had detected were not just random motions, but they were signs that Anthony was finally regaining his consciousness. We all started calling his na before Brandon, having the wits of all of us, picked up the phone in the hospital room to call the dical staff to alert them to co to Anothony’s hospital room.

What he said on the phone was lost to as I watched Anthony wake up from his coma with a slightly disoriented and confused look on his face. For a mont, he seed to be in a daze, and I wasn’t sure whether he could tell what was happening or who we were.

"The doctor is on his way. Hang in there, Anthony," Brandon said to his brother.

Anthony looked visibly tired and also confused as he stared at our faces. Although I felt extrely happy and relieved, I couldn’t stop the nurous doubts that flooded my brain with the many possibilities of what could go wrong.

What if he had lost his mory? What if he doesn’t recognize us? What if he doesn’t rember anything?

"Dah...lia..."

His voice sounded so dry and so soft, as if he was whispering to from a very far distance. At first, I thought I was imagining things, but when he called my na again, I realized that Anthony was desperately calling my na. I couldn’t stop smiling as I pulled him into my embrace. I was just so happy that he was back with us.

However, there wasn’t much ti for us to celebrate that touching mont before the doctor and the nurses quickly rushed into the room. I had to step back to give them space so that they could give Anthony the dical attention that he needed. I was so relieved and so overjoyed that he had regained consciousness that at that mont I had failed to realize that so things didn’t quite add up.

...

We were practically chased out of the room so that the doctors and nurses could tend to Anthony.

"I can’t believe that he’s awake! I don’t even know what to say," I admitted truthfully, as I found it impossible to stop smiling.

"You’re right! And today is his birthday. It’s like a miracle," Diana quickly agreed.

When I turned my attention to Bradon, I realized that he had not said anything since we exited the hospital room. The stern look that he had on his face and the air about him seed to have shifted, as if he had entered into one of his dark mood swings.

"Is sothing the matter?" I asked innocently.

His reaction wasn’t quite the one that I expected him to have now that his younger brother had awakened from his coma. Out of all of us, I thought that Bradon would be the one who would be happiest. It definitely wouldn’t be like him to jump up and about and scream at the top of his lungs because his brother had regained consciousness, but his lack of reaction and the dark look that he had on his face wasn’t what I expected either.

Bradon turned to stare at with a cold look in his eyes that I could not read or understand. He did not say anything, and that really made feel like I had said or done sothing wrong. I could not understand him or his reaction, and that rendered speechless.

"Where are you going?" I asked as Bradon quickly turned on his heels and began walking away without saying a word. It was clear that he wasn’t in the mood to talk to , but I couldn’t stop myself from inquiring about where he was headed. It’s n like he wanted to get away, but I didn’t know what from.

Just when I made a move to follow him, I felt a tight grip on my wrist. When I turned around, I saw Diana shaking her head slowly from side to side as she stopped from following Bradon.

"What’s the matter?" I asked my sister.

"Let him go. He’s probably very confused right now," Diana replied, relaxing her grip on my wrist.

"What is going on? Did I miss sothing?" I asked, as confusion flooded my mind. For the life of , I had no idea what could have triggered such a change in Bradon’s mood.

"You’re a little thick, aren’t you?" Diana asked teasingly.

"I am not in the mood for any of your teasing. Just tell -what did I do wrong?" I demanded as I glared at my sister."You didn’t do anything wrong. In fact, you didn’t do anything at all," Diana replied.

Her response made even more confused than before. If I hadn’t done anything wrong, why was Bradon giving the cold shoulder?
