Desmond and I were now on the sa side and our plans were clearly aligned with each other. Bradon’s silence made feel like I had to keep on speaking before I would lose my courage.
“Prince Desmond agreed to help with my plan to remove the power of my family and also punish my parents for whatever that they have done wrong. This is probably going to be my only opportunity to right what is wrong,” I said while trying to sound calm.
If he was in any way surprised with my decision, he showed no signs to betray his feelings. It was as if he had more than half expected that the outco would turn out this way since the mont that I left the mansion to go see the prince. He looked straight at but refused to comnt, and that made feel even more uneasy inside. After all, despite all of my bravery, I still haven’t told him the main part of the prince’s plan to end the rule of the monarchy in the country. I could still recall Desmond’s words and the absolute look of determination in his eyes when he declared that he would be the last king of this country.
I wondered what implication that would have on the Vulkan family and how Brandon would take it.
“You don’t look so surprised...” I said in wonder.
“Did you expect to be surprised?” He asked in return.
If I had to be truthful, I hadn’t expected Bradon to be surprised with the outco of my eting with the prince; however, I couldn’t deny that there was a part of that wanted him to feel at least interested and excited about my achievent. I had no idea why it felt like I wanted recognition from him or so kind of complint, but that was the only reason that I could think of that could explain my apparent disappointnt in his lack of reaction.
“I guess you think that I’m so good that I managed to convince the prince to help out in the end,” I said while sounding a little proud.
“At what price?” He asked coldly.
My eyes widened at his sudden show of interest, although I had no idea why he had to be paying attention to all the details that were hard for to explain. I felt under pressure under his scrutinizing gaze, and I could no longer pretend that I didn’t know what Bradon was thinking.
“Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not sleeping with the prince in exchange to get him to help ,” I replied as I lifted my chin up slightly in defiance.
“Is that so?” Bradon murmured as if he wasn’t that interested.
Had we been discussing sothing else, I might have been fooled by his apathetic reaction. Despite his uncaring words, I knew that he would at least feel bothered sharing with Desmond. That thought brought a smirk to my lips as I decided to tease him a little.
“I told the prince that I would get in trouble with my dear husband if I went along with his request,” I said before letting out a giggle.
“So, he did ask to sleep with you...” Bradon surmised.
I almost let out an oops sound at the slip of my tongue. I hadn’t planned on going so far as to disclose that Desmond had in fact asked to sleep with like how we did in the old days.
“Never mind that, anyways, I managed to get him to cooperate with my plan,” I said with a firm nod of my head.
“And in exchange, you have to cooperate with his plan?” Bradon and ask almost knowingly.
I narrowed my eyes slightly at him before letting out a sigh when I realized that I could not keep any secrets from him. It also felt like the right ti for to loop Bradon into what the prince had planned.
“You see, his plan seems to be well aligned with mine. More accurately, my plan is a subset of his. If I help him to achieve his goals, then almost naturally my plan would be successful as well,” I explained as I felt excitent bubbling up deep inside of .
“What did the prince tell you about his plan?” Bradon asked.
Desmond’s words ca back to again and I could practically see the entire monarchy and its related governing system crumbling down along with all the noble families.
“The king is going to pass away soon, and after that Desmond will beco the next king,” I said before taking a pause.
I could feel my heart race faster and louder in my chest as Bradon kept his eyes on . I swallowed to clear my throat as I prepared myself to unveil the ultimate secret of the prince’s plan.
“The crown prince wants to beco the next king and also the last king of this country,” I said slowly and clearly.
I stared deeply into Brandon’s intense blue gaze as silence and tension seed to envelope us.
“He is crazy,” Bradon said before breaking eye contact with and running his fingers through his blonde hair.
“You don’t look so shocked...” I comnted as I stared directly at Bradon.
Although he seed a little disturbed and restless, he definitely did not have the ultimate astonished reaction that I had when I first heard of this idea from Desmond.
“I’m not shocked; I’m just a little annoyed,” he admitted before running his fingers through his hair again.
“Wait, are you saying that you already knew about this?” I asked as my eyes widened at the ridiculous possibility.
Had Bradon known about this all along? When did Desmond tell him about it?
“What is your relationship with the prince?” I asked as I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at him.
It was clear as day that Bradon was hiding sothing from . From the very little interaction that I saw of the two n together, they didn’t seem to be good friends; however, I couldn’t ignore the possibility that there were close friends who fought together like cats and dogs.
