His smile felt even more lively and attractive than I rembered. Tall, dark brown hair that appeared almost black with pale gray eyes, the crown prince truly lived up to the fairytale image of a prince. The gray suit that he had on matched the shade of his eyes and I was reminded once again why this man had long been one of the most desirable bachelors in the country.
I hoped that it would remain that way and that he wouldn’t end up getting himself killed.
“You can’t hurt him. No one can hurt him! No matter what, you all can’t shoot Prince Desmond!” I yelled again while praying that Zain would listen to .
Zain didn’t shoot the prince but he didn’t make a move to lower his gun either. There was so much tension in the air and I was at a loss as to what I should do. These were Bradon’s n so they wouldn’t take commands from that went against any of Bradon’s existing orders and rules.
“Actually, I can...” an icy voice said.
The sound of the car door slamming closed sounded so loud as the figure that erged from the car caught my attention. Just when I thought that the situation couldn’t have gotten more dangerous or more complicated, the owner of the mansion decided to make his appearance.
Bradon...
I opened my mouth to say his na but no sound would co out. It felt like my heart had stopped along with the flow of ti as I stared at Bradon as he pointed a gun at Prince Desmond. My mind recoiled in shock and I didn’t want to believe that this was truly happening. Everyone went silent and the only sound that I could hear was the wind howling around us. There was so much tension in the air and I was certain that everyone present could feel it. Although I knew that I should say sothing to explain what was happening, I was too scared to speak.
The risk of saying the wrong thing and triggering the start of violence was just too great. Bradon was visibly displeased with the fact that the prince had turned up to his mansion and the fact that the prince ntioned taking away probably didn’t help at all.
“Why are you here, Your Highness?” Bradon asked calmly.
The calm and cold tone of his voice sent a shiver down my spine. Although he sounded polite enough, I knew that Bradon didn’t like coming ho to see the prince there. Receiving that book from the prince told that he wanted to get in touch with ; however, I never thought that he would do sothing as bold as stepping into Bradon’s territory like this.
This is going to be such a bloody ss if violence breaks out. I understood why this was happening although I didn’t want to understand it. This was Bradon’s very own world and the prince had intruded upon it. It didn’t matter whether this piece of land was located in the prince’s kingdom. As far as Bradon and his n were concerned, this place belonged to Bradon and is under his rule with its own set of laws set by none other than Bradon himself.
“I invited you two to have dinner with many tis but I haven’t heard a favorable response, so I figured that you might be waiting for to escort you there personally. Of course, if you would rather have dinner here, then I’m also willing to be your honorable guest,” Prince Desmond said before letting out a light chuckle.
The way he smirked told that he wasn’t just here to have dinner with us. I bit down on my lower lip to keep myself from gasping when the prince’s words sank in. I didn’t know that the prince had wanted to et us and had sent various invitations. My eyes narrowed as I stared at Bradon because that must have ant that Bradon had kept on turning down the prince’s invitations without even letting know.
Why did he do that when he knew very well that I had things to discuss with Prince Desmond?
Regardless, the prince was here now and truly saved the trouble of trying to find a way to et him. It felt like a blessing in disguise, although I had to say that the way he had chosen to make his sudden appearance was way beyond troubleso.
“It’s not too late, Your Highness. Turn back and return to wherever you ca from,” Bradon warned sternly.
“I won’t return...unless she cos with ,” the prince replied as he pointed a finger directly at .
I cursed the prince silently for shifting everyone’s attention to . Bradon’s gaze landed on and I wished desperately that I could beco invisible to him. My heart raced faster in my chest as I debated with myself about what I should do. On one hand, I wanted to talk to the prince and that ant that I needed to leave with him. However, I wasn’t even sure if Bradon would let both of us out of here alive.
I can’t die here and I can’t miss this opportunity when the prince is standing right in front of .
“Bradon...please...” I called his na pleadingly.
I begged him silently with my eyes for him to let go. Surely, he knew what I wanted. I’ve talked to him about this so many tis already.
“I need to talk to the prince. Even if it’s just a short while...I don’t even need to have dinner with him...” I negotiated desperately.
Bradon did not lower his gun but he did shift his gaze from the prince to . I knew that he heard even though my voice was shaky.
“Please...” I begged him again because that was all that I could do.
“We’re not having dinner?” Prince Desmond interrupted with clear dissatisfaction.
I glared at him as I willed for him to remain silent. The prince wasn’t at all taking the situation seriously and wasn’t acting like soone who had guns pointed at him.
