He leaned all over as my entire body stiffened in panic. Bradon gave a cold glare before he reached for the seatbelt and fastened it. I imdiately reached to unfasten the seatbelt again and that was when the car suddenly charged forward. My mouth dropped open when I realized that he had just sped past the red light.

Did he just...run a red light?

“I just ran a red light to keep you in your seat. You don’t have to look so shocked; I haven’t killed anyone...yet...” he said without looking at .

The night lights lining the side of the street whizzed by so fast that my body stiffened from a mix of fear and also shock. I didn’t think that Bradon would get that angry with my attempt to get out of the car. If anything, I was quite certain that he didn’t want to be there with him either. It must have felt unpleasant and botherso for him to have to spend ti with . I thought that I might be saving us both the trouble if I simply just got out of the car. Maybe just like Zain, Bradon simply thought that it was his responsibility or his job to babysit .

Although I was screaming and arguing at him so loudly just before, my tongue felt so tied, and I suddenly felt so tired. Instead of causing more of a scene that might anger him even more, I looked out my side of the window at the lights that passed by outside. I felt very empty inside like a hallow void had just sprung up in the middle of my chest. For the first ti since the ride started, I no longer cared about whether or not he was driving safely. If I could choose, I wanted him to drive even faster so that we would arrive back at his mansion and so that we could finally go our separate ways.

It did occur to for a split second that I might have crossed the line. Perhaps I didn’t have the right to question him about his personal life. I would have hated it if soone had interrogated that way. Then again, I didn’t actually ask him to kiss the way that he did either. Thankfully, I knew what my body was about to do and that made suppress the urge to reach up my fingers to touch my lips just in ti before I would do that. I could still feel his kiss on my lips along with the bitterness that followed our argunt.

The silence in the car felt deafening and the tension between us felt crushing. I didn’t even dare let out a soft sigh and all that I could do was close my eyes montarily as I kept my head turned away from him. When I opened my eyes again, the scenery outside passed by in front of . There was nothing interesting outside for to look at, but I couldn’t make myself turn to look at his face either. It must have been because I couldn’t co up with the words to say to him that I wished a little that he would be the one who would start a conversation with .

I had no idea whether I preferred it when he was a ball of fire during his rage or when he turned cold like a wall made of ice. Just when I thought that I might have started regretting what I did, I killed off that thought and feeling imdiately. There was nothing that I had to regret and that was because what happened wasn’t my fault.

That’s right...this isn’t my fault...

...

When we arrived back at the mansion, Bradon didn’t drive up the driveway that would lead us to the front of the mansion where we would usually get off. It was dark but it wasn’t that late in the evening and considering how late he always returned ho, I was sure that no matter how late it was, soone must have been there to help him park his car. A knot ford in the pit of my stomach when he drove us into the underground garage.

It was my first ti there because it was the norm that I would be picked up right in front of the mansion door. The lights in the garage lit up automatically even before the car entered and there wasn’t supposed to be anything scary or grim about the place. However, the fact that the garage was underground and the fact that I was still alone with Bradon in the car made feel slightly distressed.

He parked the car without saying a word to . I wished that I could have just gotten out of the car and raced to my room. However, that wasn’t at all possible because I quickly realized that I didn’t know the way from where we were to my room and walking up to the ground from the way that we entered and going all the way around the mansion didn’t feel like the right way to go about it at all. I felt his cold gaze on my face rather than seeing it and it made my entire body stiffen.

He’s going to yell at ...if not worst...

I need to get out of here...

At the point, walking back the way we ca in and all the way around the mansion to the front exit felt like nothing to anymore. I reached for the handle of the car door, but it was already too late. Bradon grabbed my arm and pulled back until my back landed with a slight thud against the back of the car seat. I braced myself for another wave of argunt that I knew was coming my way. His silence during the drive wasn’t at all a sign that he had forgotten the fight that we just had.

“Don’t ever do sothing like that again...” he suddenly spoke up in a very icy tone.
