William Astir felt very compassionate towards his son-in-law and whispered to Liam Webster, "Liam, I don’t understand the ways you young people have fun, but you need to know when to stop and not make things too hard for Brandon."
It’s normal to have so wedding high jinks.
But there must be boundaries.
Hearing this, Olivia Armstrong also spoke up, "What your uncle says is correct, Liam. You are Isla’s brother, and you are seeing her off at her wedding today. If they go too far, just speak up."
After all, they are Isla Astir’s parents, and there are so things that are hard to say out loud.
But Liam Webster is different.
Liam Webster is a smart man. He just had his own wedding in August, so of course he understood what the two elders ant, "Auntie, Uncle, don’t worry! I’m here! I definitely won’t let them go overboard!"
"Then we’re counting on you, Liam."
"Auntie, Uncle, it’s my responsibility."
Eva Webster ca to the wedding, leading an adorable little girl by the hand.
The little girl curiously asked, "Mommy, where is the bride?"
Eva Webster replied gently, "The bride is upstairs, sweetie. Shall we go up and see her?"
"Okay." The little girl nodded her head.
The little girl was Eva Webster’s stepdaughter.
Ever since she got married, she was like a changed person, the old Eva Webster seed to have disappeared all at once.
Replaced by a virtuous wife.
A kind mother.
It proved that one’s love can be reciprocated with another’s, Eva Webster treated her stepdaughter like her own, and the little girl regarded her as her real mother.
However, a part of this was also due to Eva Webster’s husband, Chester.
Chester told his daughter that Eva Webster was her real mother.
Initially, the daughter was sowhat resistant to Eva Webster.
But as ti went on, the daughter slowly accepted her, and eventually, she even beca closer to Eva Webster than to her father, Chester.
A mont later, Eva Webster took her stepdaughter upstairs.
Isla Astir had also heard about Eva Webster’s recent changes and smiled as she saw her, "Big cousin."
"Isla."
Isla Astir continued, "This must be Mandy, right? Co here, auntie will give Mandy a big red envelope."
Eva Webster turned to her daughter, "Mandy, this is Mommy’s cousin, your auntie."
Mandy approached Isla Astir, "That’s not auntie, that’s the bride! The bride is so pretty!"
Isla Astir pulled out a red envelope and stuffed it into Mandy’s hand.
"Thank you, Auntie."
"You’re welco." Isla Astir patted Mandy’s head.
Isla Astir then turned to Eva Webster, "Big cousin, please have a seat."
Eva Webster nodded her head.
At that mont, Windy Armstrong ca upstairs.
Seeing Eva Webster was also there, Windy’s expression changed. Weddings are all about auspiciousness and seeking good luck, and Eva Webster, having married a second-marriage man, bringing her stepdaughter to Isla Astir’s bridal room might not bode well.
"Eva, why did you bring Mandy up here? Your dad is looking for you both downstairs!"
Upon hearing her father was looking for her, Eva Webster imdiately took Mandy downstairs, "Then I’ll go down and take a look."
"Go ahead." Windy nodded.
After Eva Webster left, Windy looked apologetically at Isla Astir, "Isla, I’m so sorry, your great aunt really didn’t know Eva would bring the child up!"
Isla Astir being young, didn’t understand these things.
She asked with a puzzled face, "Great Aunt, can’t my big cousin co over?"
Seeing Isla Astir didn’t understand, Windy whispered an explanation to her.
Hearing this, Isla Astir laughed, "I thought it was sothing serious! It turns out to be old feudal thinking. Great Aunt, you don’t need to be so superstitious, we are in a new era now."
Isla Astir thought Windy Armstrong was concerned about sothing serious.
She didn’t expect Windy to be concerned about these old customs.
Windy was montarily stunned, "Isla, are you really not superstitious?"
"There’s nothing to be superstitious about!" Isla Astir continued, "Great Aunt, please call my big cousin back here. She’s had a hard ti already, don’t let her overthink."
Windy replied, "You might not mind, but it doesn’t an your mother or Brandon won’t mind. Your big cousin’s current status..."
"As long as I don’t mind, that’s enough. Great Aunt, don’t think too much about it."
Although that’s what was said, Windy ultimately didn’t call Eva Webster back.
Why reach out for bad luck from a woman with an already unfortunate fate?
Just then, a burst of laughter ca from downstairs.
Windy imdiately stood up, "It must be Brandon and the others who have broken through the main door."
