Chapter 1940: 553: Deceived, retribution_2
“I’ll have so soy milk, I’ve been feeling a bit hot lately,” Windy Armstrong replied.
Olivia Armstrong poured Windy a cup of soy milk.
Breakfast was simple.
Isla Astir mixed a small dish of sour wood ear mushrooms and fried so pickled vegetable and shredded pork.
She stead bread and Mantou, fried a few youtiao, and paired it all with a bowl of plain porridge, which was simple but heartwarming and tummy-warming on a cold winter day.
Windy smiled and said, “Isla has always been more sensible than our family’s Snowy since she was little, and she’s still so sensible after growing up.”
At this point, Windy sighed lightly, “Our Snowy has grown so big, but she hasn’t prepared breakfast for us yet!”
Hearing her sister praising her own daughter, Olivia of course was happy, but she didn’t forget to comfort her sister, “Sis, it’s rare for Isla to cook, and this ti she did it because you ca. If you hadn’t co, she’d be waiting for to cook for her.”
Upon hearing this, Isla Astir agreed with a smile, “My mom is right, I got up early to cook just because I saw you chatting with my mom until late last night.”
Windy looked at Isla Astir, her eyes full of envy.
When her younger sister took in this child who had no blood relation to them, almost everyone was skeptical.
But now?
Everyone envies Olivia Armstrong.
Who rembers that Isla Astir was an adopted child?
Not to ntion an adopted child.
Even a biological daughter might not be able to do what Isla does.
After finishing the al, Isla Astir walked out of the room with a bag, “Auntie, I rember the day after tomorrow is your birthday, isn’t it? This is the birthday gift I got for you, happy birthday in advance.”
Windy was startled.
She had even forgotten her own birthday, but Isla Astir rembered.
“Thank you, Isla.” Windy received the gift handed over by Isla Astir with both hands.
“Auntie, you’re too polite.”
Olivia said with a smile, “Sis, see if you like the gift Isla bought for you.”
Windy took out the object from within the bag.
There was another layer of packaging inside; it was an exquisite gift box.
Upon opening the box, she saw that inside was a pair of very delicate gold earrings.
Olivia continued, “Isla and I went to pick them out together the other day and it took a long ti!”
Windy looked towards Olivia, “This is too valuable, I can’t accept it! Isla, you keep it for your mom to wear.”
Isla Astir said with a smile, “Aunt is also a mom, so Auntie, please accept it! There’s no such thing as taking back a birthday gift once it’s given.”
As she bought them, it showed her sincerity to offer them to Windy.
Olivia shoved the gold earrings back into Windy’s hand, “Sis, Isla is right, an aunt is also a mom, and a niece is also a daughter. Without you and brother-in-law’s help back then, our Isla wouldn’t have had the chance to go to school.” Without the chance to go to school, there would be no Isla Astir of today.
“I’ll help Auntie put them on,” Isla Astir said.
As she spoke, she took the gold earrings out and helped Windy wear them.
Different from young people, older people prefer gold jewelry.
Gold prevails during chaos, while jade prevails during good tis.
At any ti, the value of gold remains undiminished.
Windy was already sowhat plump by nature, looking even more attractive after putting on the gold jewelry.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Windy was filled with emotions. She truly hadn’t imagined that her first pair of gold earrings would be bought by her niece.
A mont later, Windy turned to look at Isla Astir and continued, “Isla, these earrings must have been expensive, right?”
“Not expensive; I am now a VIP at the gold store.”
This was not a joke.
In recent years, Isla Astir had bought a lot of gold jewelry for her parents, even gold bars, investing several hundred thousand in the gold store.
Olivia then said, “Sis, just wear what was bought for you, money and valuables are external possessions.”
Soon after, William Astir returned from walking the dog outside.
Seeing him holding a dog in one hand, Olivia said exasperatedly, “How did you end up carrying it?”
William Astir put two little puppies down on the ground, “We’ve been out for too long, both Nino and the other dog got too tired to walk, so I carried them back.”
Olivia glanced at him, then continued, “Hurry up and eat, and then get ready, we’ll go visit the Mo family in a little while.”
“Alright,” William Astir nodded, picked up a bread, and started eating while walking towards the dog’s bed, “Nino, grandpa is going to your uncle’s place later, the two of you behave at ho, okay? Rember to pee on the pad, if you want to poop, go to the bathroom. Got that? Grandpa will co back soon, don’t you two worry!”
