That infuriated Felicity Henington!
How could she have thought that Mandel Thompson would actually defend Isla Astir?
Felicity Henington struggled to maintain the smile on her lips and continued, “Then I wish you both a lifeti of happiness, and I hope to drink to your wedding soon.”
Mandel Thompson kept smiling, “When we have the wedding, we’ll definitely invite you.”
Felicity Henington turned around and left.
Jean Beckman also replied to her ssage at this mont, “What happened?”
Felicity Henington, furious, replied, “I’ll tell you after I finish eating.”
After quickly finishing her al, Felicity Henington went outside to call Jean Beckman.
“Jean, guess who I just ran into at the hot and spicy soup restaurant?”
“Who?” Jean Beckman asked.
Felicity Henington continued, “Mandel Thompson and his girlfriend. That woman obviously isn’t any good. She even said you were like a movie that had already ended in Mandel Thompson’s life! Disgusting!”
“What was his attitude?” Jean Beckman asked.
Felicity Henington repeated Mandel Thompson’s response to Jean Beckman.
Hearing this, Jean Beckman laughed lightly.
Felicity Henington couldn’t understand, “How can you still laugh?”
How forgiving can you be?
Jean Beckman continued, “Mandel Thompson knows we are best friends. With sothing like this happening, you would definitely tell imdiately.”
Hearing this, Felicity Henington had a sudden realization, “So Mandel Thompson was deliberately putting on a show for ! I actually thought he was really chard by that woman!”
“How could that be?” Jean Beckman continued, “He isn’t that superficial.”
If Mandel Thompson really liked Isla Astir, why would he take her to eat hot and spicy soup?
He should be taking Isla Astir to fine dining restaurants instead.
Felicity Henington continued, “It seems like the big boss Mandel still likes you. He even acted out a scene right in front of ! Jean, if I were you, I definitely wouldn’t give that woman any reason to gloat. I’d accept Mandel Thompson’s proposal right away!”
That would piss Isla Astir off.
Jean Beckman didn’t care at all. In her view, Isla Astir was just her substitute.

After eating, Isla Astir followed Brandon to pick up a puppy from the kennel.
The boss personally loaded the stuff into the trunk.
Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of the residential area.
Isla Astir opened the car door and got out.
Brandon also got out. “I’ll help you.”
There was too much stuff, and he was worried Isla Astir couldn’t carry it all.
“No need, I’ll just call my dad to bring over the trolley. You should go back,” Isla Astir said.
If she allowed Brandon to take her ho, her parents would definitely find out.
Brandon, seeing that Isla Astir wasn’t letting him take her ho, didn’t insist any further. He turned around and took a gift box out of the car. “This is a birthday gift for Uncle. Just tell him it’s from you. When it’s ti to make our relationship public, you can tell him then.”
Isla Astir’s refusal was on the tip of her tongue, but Brandon continued, “Don’t refuse, Miss Astir, I want to have a real relationship with you. Besides, it’s not anything terribly expensive.”
“Then, I’ll thank you on behalf of my dad,” Isla Astir said.
Brandon smiled, “I hope one day, Miss Astir won’t see as an outsider.”
Isla Astir chuckled lightly, “You better head back.”
Brandon bent down and kissed her forehead before turning around and getting back into the car.
Isla Astir didn’t call her father to pick her up but borrowed a small trolley from a nearby supermarket owner to haul the items ho.
When she got ho, William Astir happened to be out.
To surprise her father, Isla Astir hid the puppy in her room, then started to decorate the living room with birthday decorations she had bought online a few days earlier.
To prevent her father from suddenly coming ho, Isla Astir specifically called her father’s close friends to ask them to keep him busy and invited them over to keep her father company for his birthday.
Soon, Olivia Armstrong also ca back and helped decorate the living room. She said with a smile, “Your dad thought you had forgotten his birthday! He was feeling quite down!”
