Chapter 1840: 442: Yu Tingzhi: Was the plain question really directed by our own leader?! _4

“Isla, are you okay?”

“…”

Poppy Smith was sowhat anxious; she had never been so close to her high society dreams before.

Yet those dreams had shattered so quickly.

At this mont, Isla Astir and Mandel Thompson were sitting inside the hall.

Seeing her downcast, Brandon chuckled and said, “Miss Astir, are you still upset about yesterday’s incident?”

“I’ve known her for three years, and she said she would always treat like her little sister,” Isla sighed.

Three years of friendship was not sothing one could simply put aside.

Brandon continued, “Is she your only friend?”

“No,” Isla replied. “But after this incident, I’m afraid to trust my other friends.”

The incident had successfully cast a shadow over Isla’s heart.

She couldn’t bring herself to trust others anymore.

It always felt like everyone was deceiving her.

Hearing this, Brandon poured Isla a glass of water and laughed, “Miss Astir, it seems like you’re once bitten, twice shy!”

Isla remained silent.

Brandon added, “Not everyone is like Poppy Smith. Miss Astir, you shouldn’t let one failed friendship make you lose faith in all your friends. Your boyfriend, , has an eye for people. How about this, next ti you go out to eat with your good friends, invite along.”

If it were anyone else, Brandon wouldn’t bother with such an unrewarding task.

But he had no choice.

After all, this person was his girlfriend.

“Okay,” Isla nodded.

Brandon then said, “Now that the matter is resolved, could Miss Astir gift with a smile?”

Isla looked at Brandon and mustered a slight smile.

Brandon chuckled lightly, “That’s too perfunctory.”

“Boss Thompson, you’re such a busybody!” Isla complained.

Brandon replied lightly, “I’m busy and have a girlfriend. Are you jealous?”

Isla couldn’t help but laugh at these words.

Seeing Isla’s bright smile, Brandon sighed with relief.

Brandon handed Isla a dessert, smiling, “My sister loves this the most. Give it a try.”

“Are you talking about Miss Thompson?” Viola Thompson was Isla’s idol!

So when Brandon ntioned his sister, Isla beca particularly excited.

“Calling her Miss Thompson is too formal. You can call her by her nickna like the rest of us,” Brandon said. “Her nickna is Viola.”

Isla nodded with a smile.

She looked forward to calling Viola Thompson ‘Viola’ one day.

Brandon went on, “Viola is the youngest girl in our family, so everyone dotes on her a lot.”

Isla’s eyes curved in delight.

One could imagine that the Thompson Clan’s family atmosphere must be lovely.

With several brothers doting on a sister, Viola Thompson must be very happy indeed.

As the two chatted and ate, Brandon seed to think of sothing and turned to Isla, saying, “Miss Astir, except for my sister, I haven’t spent much ti with other girls. If there’s anything I’m doing wrong, please don’t sulk; tell directly.”

“As long as it’s not against my moral principles, I can change.”

Suspicion is the biggest taboo for a couple.

Brandon, at his age, only wanted to experience a sweet romance.

He couldn’t handle anything too torturous.

“Alright,” Isla teased. “Then if I do sothing wrong, don’t hold back with , Boss Thompson. I’m particularly good at accepting criticism.”

Brandon smiled and said, “As of now, I only see virtues when I look at you, Miss Astir.”

Isla smiled as well.

This dessert shop was a high-end chain, and Jean Beckman, after returning from abroad, particularly favored it for her afternoon tea.

Upon entering, she imdiately saw Brandon sitting there.

No surprise there.

After all, Brandon was currently a dazzling figure.

Jean squinted her eyes.

Brandon wasn’t alone.

A young woman in her early twenties sat across from him.

Long black curly hair, dressed in a light blue dress, a down coat hanging on the chair beside her… the girl’s features were gentle and charming, and she exuded an artistic beauty from head to toe.

As Brandon watched her, the smile at the corner of his mouth never faded.

He even poured water for her.

Jean’s brows furrowed.

Who was this woman?

Why was Brandon so intimate with her?

Also, how did Brandon know she liked to co here for afternoon tea?

Was he investigating her?

Quickly, Jean sorted through the situation.

Because Brandon knew she was coming here for afternoon tea today, he purposefully brought a woman along to flaunt their affection in front of her and, in doing so, attract her attention.
