*Bianca*
I made sure to put my card in my little crossbody purse that matched my shirt and sandals. I had the driver take to the Crab Shack Isabella and Taylor agreed to et at. When they saw , Isabella waved wildly and Taylor smirked in my direction.
“Ready to party, girl?” Taylor asked, kissing my cheek.
I smiled at him and nodded my head.
“You Sure Bianca?” Isabella asked, seeing more than Taylor did. She was more intuitive than he was.
““I just wanted to get out tonight. A beach party should do the trick,” I said, trying to be cheerful.
If I acted happy, I would eventually be it, right? Well, that was what I was going with tonight. I was not changing my story for anybody, not even Isabella and her intuitive nature.
There are going to be so fine won there tonight,” Taylor said, walking in the middle of Isabella and I
“Taylor, don’t you do enough skirt chasing on campus?” Isabella asked, with a shove to his shoulder that made him bump .
“Hey I am over here. If I fall, I am knocking you off next,” I warned, thinking falling was sothing I did not want to do any ti soon.
“Sothing you need to tell us about, Bianca?” Taylor said, grinning over at .
“No, I do not think so,” I said searching my brain for what Taylor could possibly be talking about.
“Are you knocking people off these days?” he asked.
I had to think about his words for a mont. I translated the English to Italian and back again. Then it dawned on that knocking off was a quaint idiom for killing soone in Arican slang. I pushed him this ti.
“I do not know, should we bury his body sowhere, Isabella?” I asked, once I realized Taylor had been teasing for the way I had used the phrase.
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe we can keep him around a little longer. He is kind of cute.”
“I should have known you would be too sweet to help hide his body,” I said, with a mock grimace.
“Don’t get upset, Taylor. She doesn’t an it. She’s just joking with you.”
I looked over at Isabella with a scowl.
“I don’t know, Issy, she looks like she wants to take out of the ga.”
Isabella cracked up and I snickered at Taylor’s antics. I loved hanging out with the two of them.
We finally got to the beach party after walking the docks and piers. I was not sure I would enjoy the party because there was so much booze and already drunk people. It was not like I could drink and join in that joyful buzz and uninhibited feeling they were experiencing.
Instead, I had to stand around and watch people do stupid stuff because they were intoxicated. So people were happy drunks, others were mad at everything and everyone, and still there were those who alcohol just made brave or stupid. It depended on how you looked at it.
I was enjoying myself just people watching and talking to my friends.
“Did you see that bikini?” Taylor asked, sounding scandalized.
“What? You’ve never seen a t-back bikini before? I asked, grinning at his discomfort.”
“Well,” he stuttered and blushed.
“Oh, I think she wears it well,” Isabella said. “I wish I had an ass like that.”
“No, you don’t,” Taylor said, kissing the side of her head. “Hers isn’t real. Yours is.”
“How can you tell?” Isabella asked.
I stared at him, wondering the sa thing.
“Oh, co on, there’s no way a woman that small has an ass that big,” he exclaid, still blushing to the roots of his pretty hair.
“Are you blushing?” Isabella asked, laughing at him, as we watched the bigger than normal ass in question.
“She really should put that thing up,” another voice said from behind us.
We all cracked up and turned to face our eavesdropper.
There was a handso man standing with a drink in his hand.
“Would you like to dance?” he asked Isabella.
Isabella tilted her head and looked up at him.
“Oh, I don’t know. Should I dance with soone who invites himself into conversations?” she asked, her tone flirty.
Taylor looked at over Isabella’s head, made a face, and rolled his eyes.
I snickered at him, as the flirting between the guy and Isabella continued.
“She’s going to say yes,” Taylor mouthed at .
I nodded back at him, and a few seconds later, Isabella was walking off with the stranger and dancing. Taylor stayed with for a while, making laugh and keeping company as we people watched and walked through the party. For a few minutes, we stood and watched a ferocious ga of volleyball.
“Do you play?” Taylor asked.
I shook my head and continued to watch as the players ran, spiked, served, and volleyed the ball back and forth over the net. It looked like fun, but we had co to watch too late. I did not know the score, so I did not know which team to root for. I figured I would have rooted for whichever team was already winning.
“Hey, let’s see what else is going on,” Taylor sad.
I walked with him through the party again. people were dancing on the sand as well as the makeshift dance floor. There was actually a ping pong table set up on the beach, but I wanted to see if I could find sothing that was not alcohol to drink. I was getting thirsty.
When we stepped on the back deck of one of the largest houses on the beach, there were several different tables set up with drinks. I found a cooler with water bottles in it and took one of those.
“Bianca, I’m going to play beer pong,” he called to from one of the tables.
I nodded to him from the stairs of the deck.
“You want to play with ? you can be my partner,” he called out, as I took the first step off the deck.
“No thanks,” I called back and made my way back through the party to the side lines of the dance floor to watch the dancing.
I swayed to the music and smiled at Isabella and her flirty dance partner. They were smiling at each other and all over one another. His hand rested on her hip and her back was to his front. Her bottom was pressed to his groin.
His head was down, his eyes staring at her, as they sohow talked and gyrated together. Isabella’s head was tilted back on his shoulder, her eyes on his face, their lips moved, as they talked in one another’s ears I assud to be heard over the music.
Watching them made wish Leo was there with . would he have danced with ? I thought about it for a mont and my smile grew wider. Yes, he would have danced with . His strong arms around . I could almost feel them. Leo was a flirty dancer too.
I could imagine his long legs tangling with mine as we dirty danced. I could almost see it. It was like a film of us playing in my mind. him so sexy, all dark eyes and dark hair. Those sexy lips skimming over my skin, those long-fingered hands would play along my ribs, hips, and bottom, and that grin of his would srize .
Yes, I imagine Leo would have given what I wanted, and in that mont, as I swayed to the music and watched the dancers, I wanted him there with , wrapping around , making want him while we moved to the music.
“Hello,” soone said from beside .
It startled out of my daydream of dancing and foreplay.
“Hi,” I said, looking up at a very gorgeous man.
He was no Leo, but I think I was a little biased when it ca to him. This man was all golden cream, Sunkissed tousled blond strands, striking blue eyes, and dimpled smile. If I was not with Leo, I would have found him extrely attractive.
“I’m Liam,” he introduced himself, taking a sip of whatever he was drinking.
“Bianca,” I said, thinking it was only polite to speak to him.
“You look a little lonely,” Liam said.
I looked away from his perfectly sculpted face and back at the dance floor.
“Not really.”
“That ans a little, I suppose?” he asked.
I thought about lying to him, but it was useless. I was a little lonely for Leo.
“Yeah, I am just missing my boyfriend. I ca with a couple friends. One’s on the dance floor and the other’s playing beer pong or sothing.”
Liam laughed. “Yeah, beer pong is a fun ga.”
“It must be a guy thing,” I said with a wrinkle of my nose.
“Nope, girls play it too.”
That made glance up at him again. When I turned to him, he had a grin on his face. Dear God, he really was good looking. Eye candy, as the Aricans say. I was not interested, though.
“Well, can I stand in for your friends for a bit?” he asked.
“Oh, I do not know. I was all right on my own,” I said, thinking maybe this was wrong.
”Bianca, you’re beautiful, but I don’t poach, so you’re safe with . Just hanging as friends.”
I thought about it for a mont. Liam was right. we would only be talking or standing together. It was not like we were doing anything wrong, and I could use the company. I nodded, and we started walking around the party together.
“So, Bianca with the pretty accent, what do you do?”
“Why is it that is always the first question Aricans ask?” I was genuinely curious about the answer. He was a stranger. I may never see him after tonight, so I did not think anything of asking him.
“Well, I suppose it’s because we’re all about what philosophers call the greatest evil amongst us.”
“Which is?” I asked when he stopped.
“Money. We’re socialized to want the Arican dream. The Arican dream is all wrapped up in capitalism.”
I thought about his answer and volleyed his earlier question back at him.
“So, Liam, of the very Arican accent, what do you do?”
“I’m in law school and interning with a judge.”
“Lofty,” I quipped.
“Yes, and I’m sure you’re going to school for sothing more sedate?” he asked, a note of sarcasm to his tone.
“A lot humbler, history.”
He stared at for a mont and then he threw his head back in laughter.
I did not quite understand what was so funny as we walked closer to the fire and I could finally feel its warmth. I was a little chilled. I rubbed my arms and shivered a little.
“Oh, are you cold?” he asked, taking his jacket off. “Here, use my jacket,” he said, pushing it into my hands.
I thought about the gesture and decided that would be taking things a little further than I wanted to. I shook my head at him.
“No, Liam, I’ll be alright,” I said, trying to give the jacket back to him when I saw sothing out of the corner of my eye that caught my attention.
I turned to peer into the shadows. There was Leo, that tall lithe body. The one I had wanted wrapped around earlier. His eyes bore into . there was such an intense fierceness in those dark orbs, he was so angry, but I also saw pain and hurt beneath the surface of his fury.
