*Bianca*
As I picked out an outfit to wear tonight, I couldn’t help but think it was a little odd that Leo didn’t seem to care about going out with Isabel tonight. He had told to go so easily and without hesitation.
Did he want to get rid of ? I wondered what he would be doing now instead since I wouldn’t be around.
Finally, I decided on a teal dress that fluttered just above my kneecaps. Once I was dressed, I headed through the maze that was the estate until I reached the front door. A car, along with one of Leo’s drivers, had been waiting for outside.
“Thank you,” I said to the driver as he opened the door to the backseat.
I slid inside and asked the driver if he knew where we were going. He assured he knew exactly where we were going and told to relax and have fun.
“Did Leo tell you to say that?” I asked the driver suspiciously.
He chuckled. “He did, miss.”
I rolled my eyes and chuckled softly as the driver closed my door.
Of course, Leo told him to say that to , I had thought to myself.
I pulled my cell phone out of my small black leather cross-body bag I had brought with . Once I pulled up Bianca’s text thread, I sent her a ssage telling her I was on my way to the dance club. She texted back quickly letting know she’d wait outside for .
Sure enough, when the driver pulled into the parking lot, Bianca was waiting just outside the front doors.
“Hey, girl!” Bianca called out as I made my way towards her.
“Hey!” I greeted her with a wide smile. “This is so exciting!”
“I know! I’m so glad you could co out,” she replied, looping her arm with mine.
“ too,” I bead.
She led the way inside the dance club. It was madness. People were everywhere. A sea of them danced on the dance floor, a few were sprinkled about near the bar, and a few of them draped themselves against the wall.
“Do you want a drink?” Isabel shouted over the loud music.
I shook my head. “Not right now, but thank you!”
She nodded her understanding. “I want to introduce you to so of the other girls I t on campus.”
“Oh, all right. That sounds nice!” I bead.
I hadn’t been expecting to et more girls from school just yet. However, I felt excited to finally be going out and eting new people like a real college student again.
Everything with Matteo had gotten so ssed up, I hadn’t even been allowed to hang out with girlfriends like I used to before I t him.
Leo had encouraged to go out tonight and of course, I imdiately had to read sothing into it. Maybe he simply wanted to be around other girls my age and have fun.
It wasn’t fair of to assu he wanted to get rid of so he could go off on one of his mystery adventures. He loved and he probably just wanted to enjoy myself as a college student should.
I pulled out my cell phone and sent Leo a quick text.
‘Hey, just thinking about you. Miss you.’
“Girl! Who are you texting? Co on!” Bianca said as she giggled, pulling towards a group of girls huddled together.
I laughed and zipped my phone back inside my bag before focusing my attention on the group of girls.
“Isabel! You made it!” A girl with chestnut brown hair exclaid as she squeezed her way out of the group to approach us.
The girl hugged Isabel before she settled her eyes on . “And who do we have here?”
“This is my friend, Bianca,” Isabel shouted over the music.
“It’s nice to et you! Are you starting school next week, as well?” The girl asked, putting her face way too close to mine.
“Yes,” I replied happily. “It’s nice to et you as well!”
“Let’s introduce you to the rest of the girls!” She said, gesturing for us to follow her the short distance to the group.
Abby, I found out the na of the girl with the chestnut brown hair, introduced to her friends. They had all been so nice and welcoming.
“Should we do shots?” A girl with pin straight black hair asked excitedly.
“Yes!” Everyone shouted except .
I wasn’t sure that I wanted to drink, but I suppose one shot wouldn’t hurt. We were in a dance club after all.
A woman who appeared a little older than us approached us with a tray full of several shot glasses. All the girls snatched on quickly and I was the last to take one.
“One, two, three, shots!” Abby shouted and we all put the clear burning liquid back in our throats.
Vodka, I cursed to myself. I hated vodka. The taste and the sll had a way of rising bad mories of Matteo from the dead.
“Let’s dance!” I heard one of the girls shout.
Bianca grabbed my hand and followed the other girls to the middle of the dance floor. A song I loved had just started to play and I allowed myself to get lost in the mont. I danced as if no one had been watching. My eyes closed and for a mont, my mind was clear. Nothing but the music filled my head.
When my eyelids opened, I couldn’t help but smile. I looked around at all the girls dancing and having fun and I realized I needed this. I needed a night away from Leo and the worries I held regarding him. A night with girls my age, dancing our hearts out.
“Thank you so much for inviting !” I shouted at Bianca. “This is amazing!”
“I’m so glad you think so!” She shouted back with a smile. “We’ll have to do this often!”
“Definitely!” I replied easily.
After a while of us dancing, I noticed a man had begun to approach us. He was dressed in a nice and expensive looking suit. Almost similar to the suits I had seen Leo wear, except this one had a bit more flare to it. As if he wanted the attention the suit was obviously begging for.
He looked older than the guys my age as well, and when I looked at his face, I had gotten a bad vibe from him. I couldn’t quite put my finger on the reason why he had given such bad vibes, he just did. They crawled through my skin and all I really wanted to do was get as far away from the approaching man as possible.
The creepy man started dancing as he got closer to us, to and offered his na.
“My na is Elijah,” he spoke loudly.
I backed away and grabbed a hold of Isabel’s hand. She looked down at her hand before eyeing my facial expression.
“Cool,” I replied to the man, very obviously uninterested.
“Let get one dance with you,” he said, moving closer.
I shook my head. “I don’t think so.”
“Awe, co on. Why is that?” He hissed. “A pretty girl like you without a man to dance with.”
He continued to snake his way towards . “Just one dance.”
“I said no!” I shouted with disgust.
“Are you deaf?” Isabel chid in with attitude laced in her voice. “She said no twice. Back off.”
The man glanced at Isabel before returning his poisoned gaze onto . He smiled wickedly and slowly placed his hands in a surrendering pose before he spoke again.
“I ant no harm, sweetheart.”
He backed away in a slow manner and disappeared in the sea of dancing bodies. Isabel and I looked at each other with confusion and a bit of concern.
“Should we get out of here? That was really creepy,” Isabel said.
I nodded my head quickly. “Please!”
Isabel told the other girls we were heading out and we all said our goodbyes before Isabel and I made our way outside. We were greeted with darkness and my ears took a mont to adjust to the quiet.
“I’m starving!” Isabel groaned, holding her stomach.
“Let’s go get so food. Is there anything open right now?” I asked.
“Of course, there is!” She chuckled. “This is LA. Co on, I’ll drive.”
“Oh, actually I have a car with a driver waiting for . We can take that,” I replied, pointing in the direction of the car at the back of the parking lot.
“Wait, you have a driver?” She asked incredulously as we walked towards the car.
“Yeah,” I shrugged. “My boyfriend, Leo, likes to make sure I’m always taken care of and protected, I guess.”
Isabel laughed as we approached the car. “Damn, girl! Look at this thing. What does Leo do for a living?”
“He owns a real estate company,” I told her.
“Really? Huh,” Isabel seed surprised by my response. “I would’ve guessed he was so kind of mafia boss or sothing.”
Isabel laughed at her own joke before climbing inside the backseat. I rolled my eyes playfully and laughed along with her.
Isabel told the driver the na of the restaurant before he drove off. We arrived about ten or so minutes later. It was a cute little place that had a window where we ordered. The inside of the restaurant closed at 10pm, but the kitchen remained open until 2am.
Once our food was ready, we walked back up to the window and grabbed the bags. We climbed back inside the car and ate our food. We talked as the driver drove us back to the club to where Isabel’s car was still parked.
I hugged Isabel and thanked her again for inviting out. I told the driver to wait for Isabel to get in her car before driving away.
When I got ho, Leo was waiting up for in the living room. He closed his laptop and placed it on the cushion beside him before standing up to hug .
“Hello beautiful,” he kissed my lips. “How was your night?”
I smiled as he led to the couch. Leo sat down and pulled onto his lap.
“It was really fun. I’m glad I went.”
“Yeah?” He smiled, looking happy for . “Tell about it.”
“Well, Isabel introduced to a few girls she had t already on campus. We took a shot and danced for a while. Then, this creepy man nad Elijah ca up to and tried to dance with . It took saying no twice and Isabel telling him to back off for him to finally give up and walk away,” I went on. “We were both freaked out, so we left and got so food before I ca ho.”
Leo’s face turned serious at the ntion of the creepy man. “You said his na was Elijah?”
“Yeah,” I replied, dragging the word out. “It was just so creep.”
“Did he say anything?” He asked.
“Other than asking to dance with him? No,” I assured him.
Leo went on asking all these weird questions about the man and I started to feel confused. Was he simply being an overprotective boyfriend, or was there more to it? Sothing told there was more to it. Why was it that there was always sothing inside of telling there was more to sothing I wished there wasn’t.
“Leo, do you know this Elijah man?” I asked, with squinted eyes.
“No. Of course no,” he spoke quickly. “I just want to make sure you are safe. Always.”
I nodded my head. “I know. It just seems like you’re reading too much into it.”
He stared at for a mont before the features on his face softened. “I’m sorry. I just get protective of you, that’s all.”
He wrapped his arms around and kissed . I leaned into the kiss and decided to brush off the fact that I still felt unsure of his relentless questioning. I didn’t want to think about the creep anymore. Especially, not while my lips were firmly planted on my boyfriends.
