*Leo*

The sunlight pouring through the window had woken . I checked the ti before glancing over at Bianca who was still sound asleep. I caressed her face gently as I didn’t want to wake her. She looked so beautiful and peaceful as she slept.

As quietly as I could, I carefully climbed out of her bed and snuck out of her room. Last night had been amazing and one for the books.

I thought about everything Bianca and I had talked about the night before while I walked the journey to the other side of the estate. When I reached my bedroom door, I walked in and collapsed onto my bed.

Well, Bianca and I were official, I had thought to myself. As much as, I loved that, it also caused to feel more guilt in the pit of my stomach for lying to her and keeping my entire life a secret to her. Especially since she is doubting herself. Thinking she couldn’t trust herself because of her past with Matteo.

I sneered at the thought of him. I’m nothing like Matteo and I hated what he did to her.

Lying to her didn’t feel good, though. I wondered when all of this was going to blow up in my face. I shook my head hard as I got to my feet. I didn’t want to be thinking of that now. I wanted to live in the present and worry about that when the ti inevitably would arrive.

Unfortunately for , I had a bunch of important etings lined up at the real estate office this morning. The one good thing that would co out of it though, was that I’d get to talk to Elio. I hadn’t spoken to him too much since he left for New York. However, the etings today involved him and his branch in New York. I hoped to hear all about how Cat and Emilia had been doing since they’ve settled in.

The black and white checkered tile was cold against my feet as I walked into the bathroom to get a shower. I turned the water on and allowed it to get hot before stepping in.

It didn’t take long for the room to beco filled with steam. By the ti I stepped out, I felt as though I was inhaling a cloud of fog. I grabbed the towel off the hook and wrapped it around my waist. I made a fist and smudged the mirror in an attempt to clear it.

Once I was dressed, I headed down to the kitchen to grab a freshly baked muffin on my way out the door. I was running a little late and didn’t have ti to stop for coffee. I supposed Bianca was still asleep since she wasn’t in the kitchen eating breakfast like she usually was before I had to leave for work.

I moved swiftly through the traffic and arrived at my office right on ti. Seconds after I had sat down in my chair, the corded phone rang. When I answered, I was glad to hear Elio’s voice.

“Hey, man! How has it been going?” Elio asked in an unusual upbeat tone.

“Everything has been going great,” I told him.

I thought about the guilt I had been feeling from lying to Bianca and the rat Franky and I have been keeping an eye on. The truth was everything wasn’t great. But there was no sense in saying any of that to Elio. He was the one who thought I was good enough to take his place as the Don. I can’t show him my problems.

“How are Cat and Emilia?” I asked, setting my burdens aside.

“Cat loves it here. Emilia finally ward up to the new space and is as happy as ever,” he went on.

“That’s great to hear!” I said, feeling truly happy for them.

“I just wanted to call and catch up before our big etings today,” he said. “Are you ready?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” I joked in my usual fashion.

Elio laughed. “I hear that.”

Elio and I spoke for a few more monts, catching up on other things in his life. It was good to hear from him. I was glad he and his family had been doing so well away from the mafia life.

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make think about Bianca and . She didn’t know anything about this life, but I knew she was suspicious. I hated to think of what would happen if she’d found out. Found out that I had been lying to her this whole ti.

I had real feelings for Bianca; I didn’t want her to end up leaving like my ex-girlfriend did. I had been working so much at the real estate office for Elio at the ti that I ended up not having enough ti for her. She eventually left and I had acted like it was no big deal, but the truth was that it had hurt. I liked having a girlfriend, I didn’t want to be alone anymore.

After the etings with Elio had co to an end, I headed out of the office to grab a coffee. My next eting with a client from LA wasn’t until later this afternoon.

Just as I picked up my coffee order, I felt my cell phone buzz from within my front pants pocket. I pulled it out and smiled when I saw Bianca’s na lit up on the screen. It was a text ssage from her.

‘Thank you so much for last night, Leo. You’re amazing. I’ve never had anyone do anything like that for before. I appreciate you, entirely.’

My smile had grown wider as I read her words. I felt beyond happy that I had made her so happy. I hoped I could keep it up even though I must hide such a huge part of my life from her.

Once I wrapped up the eting with my client, I was feeling excited to get ho to Bianca. For once, I didn’t have to stay late or go see Franky. Bianca and I could enjoy a nice dinner together tonight.

The first thing I noticed when I walked through the front door of the estate was the scent. It slled wonderful. I followed it all the way to the kitchen where I found Bianca wearing an apron and standing in front of the oven.

“Hey, Leo!” she greeted brightly. “You are just in ti.”

“Are you cooking for ?” I asked, amazed.

“Of course. I wanted to show you how much I appreciated you for last night,” she smiled as I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her.

“You didn’t have to do that, Bianca,” I told her sweetly. “But it does sll delicious.”

She chuckled. “It does, right?”

“Mhm. What is that?” I asked her, trying to sll the different flavors.

“My mom’s lasagna recipe,” she replied with her chin in the air.

Bianca opened the oven to show . The amazing sll wafted in my face and I felt the drool drip down my chin.

“It has about another ten minutes and it will be done,” she inford confidently as she closed the oven door.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and I leaned down to press my lips to hers. I couldn’t help myself as I parted her lips with my tongue. She moves her body closer to and I place my hands on her hips.

I had missed her all day and this mont was what I had been waiting for since I left her asleep in her bed this morning.

I felt slightly disappointed when she pulled away from slightly until she asked how my day was. For once, I didn’t have to lie to her about it.

“It was fine. A bunch of etings. Rather boring, actually,” I told her, planting a kiss on her forehead. “Oh, and I spoke to Elio. He said Cat and Emilia are really loving it in New York.”

“Awe! That is so good to hear!” She bead at the ntioning of Emilia and Cat. “That little Emilia is just the sweetest. I want to squeeze her cheeks every ti I see her!”

I laughed as I pictured Bianca squeezing baby Emilia’s chubby cheeks.

“I’m going to go change quickly before dinner and I’ll be right down,” I told her.

I kissed her one last ti before heading up the staircase to take off these horrid clothes. Suits had never been my thing.

When I walked back into the kitchen, Bianca had already placed a piece of lasagna on each of our plates. If I had to guess, I’d say the plate with an unusually large slice on it was mine.

However, I waited until she claid a chair before assuming.

We sat down and dug into the wonderful al she had cooked.

“Oh wow,” I practically moaned. “This is amazing. More than amazing.”

Bianca smiled with so much happiness radiating from her. “Do you really an that?”

I shoved another bite into my mouth and swallowed before answering her.

“I truly an that. I haven’t tasted sothing this good since I was a kid eating my mom’s cooking,” I confessed.

“That can’t be true!” She chuckled. “You literally have a ho chef.”

“That’s different,” I insisted as I waved that off. “Nothing beats real Italian cooking.”

She shrugged her shoulders. “That’s fair. I agree with that.”

We both laughed and continued eating our food. When we finished I couldn’t stop thanking her for being so sweet.

“I appreciate you cooking dinner for ,” I told her as I took her hand in mine and pulled her close to .

“And I appreciate you for last night and well, for everything,” she replied, staring into my eyes.

I couldn’t help myself again, I crushed my lips into hers. It almost seed impossible to keep my hands off her. I carried this desire of always wanting her to feel good inside of . And I quickly took every opportunity that arose to fulfill that desire.

“Should we clean up?” she asked before I kissed her again.

I shook my head. “You forget I have a maid.”

She giggled. Bianca laughed and playfully pushed against my chest. "As tempting as that sounds, we really should clean up first. I made a ss, so I should take care of it."

I sighed dramatically but couldn’t help smiling. "Alright, alright. But I’m helping. It’ll go faster with the two of us anyway."

We set about clearing the table, bumping hips and stealing quick kisses as we worked. Bianca insisted on rinsing the dishes before loading them into the dishwasher, claiming it was a habit from her old apartnt’s temperantal machine.

"Here, let show you the most efficient way to load this thing," I said, reaching around her to rearrange a few plates. I may have lingered a bit longer than strictly necessary, enjoying the warmth of her body against mine.

"Oh really?" Bianca challenged, a mischievous glint in her eye. "And here I thought I was the expert dish-stacker."

As we finished I pulled her close to and planted a kiss on her forehead.

A soft smile played on her lips.

I grinned. My hands found her hips and I lifted her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist as I sat her down on the counter.

I looked at her with dark eyes before speaking.

“Now, I want to thank you properly for that dinner.”
