Chapter 327

I was having mixed feelings about this. It was rare for there to be a relative of the current Cheonma. The heavenly demon was devoid of all external emotions. That ant even the familial or romantic ones.

No, they were not made to kill their families or the people they loved. No, they simply had to change their family na. However, Liu Kuang didn’t address Xin Tae Yong with another surna. No, he used the one he’d use for the heavenly demon.

The sect or the elders wouldn’t allow that. And even more than that, since the heavenly demon was to forsake every familial emotion, she wouldn’t care who her sister went to. In simpler words, her sister couldn’t be used against her.

"I can tell what you’re thinking from the look on your face," Liu Kuang said but the next mont, he just smiled and ended the conversation.

I was an outsider and this was clearly far enough. My guess was that the knowledge of Xin being Yan’s sister was common knowledge among the top brass and since I was treated with great respect, I was bound to co across that knowledge as well.

However, why she was important was an entirely different question. It didn’t seem like everyone knew about it and even among the top brass, not everyone knew about it. If they didn’t, then whatever this was, it was major.

Geum Ha, the disciple who was here to see Liu Kuang the other must have co to know about it sohow and now that he did, he wanted her.

One thing was for sure. It wasn’t love. Or lu.st. Martial artists, at least those who could still get stronger, and not those who have co to terms with the fact that they wouldn’t grow any longer and take it out on normal people, never understood the aning of these emotions.

To them, getting stronger was the only emotion. Wives or marriages were for procreation. Nothing more, nothing less.

"I’m curious about sothing," I asked to which the old man nodded which was the go for so I asked, "How old is Xin again?"

"Ahh..." The old man mused for a few monts before he replied, "If I rember correctly, she was brought to about twenty-eight new years ago."

People in this world didn’t have birthdays. The New Year, the Chinese one, was everyone’s birthday. Anyway, not the important part. The important part was that Xin was twenty-eight.

[Awfully young looking for a twenty-eight years old]

Yeah, probably should ntion that she looked no more than seventeen. Eighteen at best.

"And the sect master herself brought her to you?" I asked.

"Yes," Liu Kuang replied, "She found the child buried almost a foot deep in snow. She decided to give the infant her na and cared for her like an older sister."

[Normally people would use the impression with a little change]

’Yeah, these people didn’t know.’

To them, Tae Yong was still probably untouched. Untouched, unsullied, and all those professional terms that allowed one to keep themselves dignified while associating themselves with these terms.

[They think she’s a virg*n]

Language! Young lady!

But basically yeah. However, as they say, ’Eyes don’t lie.’

Xin and Yan had the sa eyes. I didn’t notice it before because the thought never crossed my mind and I dismissed Xin as a supporting character in the entire scenario but it looked like I was wrong.

She wasn’t just a supporting character; she was the key to the next throne. After all, the heavenly demon would surely not back down from supporting the husband of her daughter.

That’s right. Xin was Yan’s daughter. I doubted most of these people knew about it. If Liu Kuang did, he would have never agreed to take her under his mantle because that would an getting in the middle of this war.

As long as she was a sister, it was fine. Sisters care for each other and Tae Yong would have cared for her sister like sisters do. However, mothers don’t act the sa. A mother’s love was different.

Yan Tae Yong would side with whoever had her daughter. The traditions of the heavenly demon sect that have been going on for more than ten thousand years would crumble in an instant. Actually, if these guys knew about it, they would kill Xin Tae Yong because her existence stood to threaten the sect.

Nothing ca before the sect.

Well, then, I guess it was ti to have another chat with our precious sect master. I was curious to see who she would choose. Her disciple, or her daughter.

[You really think that’s a choice?]

Yeah, that was stupid of . It was obvious what she was going to choose.

She was a mother after all.

~~

As expected, my conversation with Liu Kuang was forwarded to Tae Yong the very sa night. I was summoned to the private chambers of the heavenly demon, not the heavenly court so the matter was serious and quiet.

I doubted anyone knew of eting her. Except for the three people who brought to her but I had never seen them before and sothing told I never would again.

Sure sucked to be them.

It wasn’t long before I was in front of a sliding door which I knocked on and heard a faint, "Enter."

I entered the room and as soon as I closed the door, three faint thuds were heard and I didn’t need to be an intellectual to know what that ant. And I also didn’t need exceptional intellect to know what was going to happen to .

Of course, lest I could negotiate which I was a killer at.

[Or you will be the one killed]

’Thank you, Detective Allison.’

"I heard of the miracle you perford to Liu Kuang today," Tae Yong began with a simple topic, one she wasn’t interested in whatsoever but she was starting the conversation from there to make things easier for herself.

While she did so, she also poured so tea. It was boiling hot and the cup was red from around the edges. Why would a cup be red you ask? Because it was made of tal.

I took my cup and effortlessly picked it up. Brought it to my lips without even a flinch and took a sip, "Hmm... It’s lukewarm."

We were cultivators. Well, at least she was, but my body was quite strong as well. Even if I was doused in boiling water I wouldn’t be hard.

She nodded and said, "I like my tea like that. I didn’t know you would need yours a little more... hot."

Damn. That was hot.

Anyway, I nodded and said, "I’m fine with it like this. As for the matter with Elder Liu, I did it as a favor."

"Yes," Tae Yong calmly replied but I could feel the amalgamation of Qi inside her. She was prepared to blow to hell, "I heard how you had one of your wives train under him as well."

"Just like you, I offered him proper compensation," I replied calmly.

[You shouldn’t be]

[Activate the ’Archangel’ skill]

’Don’t worry.’

She was more concerned for her daughter. Why would I foolishly let this opportunity go? I’d be getting a strong ally very soon. All I needed was so wordplay and who else would ever be better than at sweet-talking older won?

[...]

[Even now...]

"I heard," Tae Yong replied, "Of course, what you offered was more important."

"To him, life was more important," I replied. To each his own kind of situation.

Tae Yong nodded and finally got to the main point, "I also heard how you were curious about my sister. I will make it clear. I don’t like the thought of wedding her to a womanizer."

[Ha!]

"I have many wives because of my duty to bear as many children as I can for the sake of my royal family." I obviously shot a bullsh*t lie. I couldn’t procreate in the first place.

[What?!]

[Don’t tell little Gabriel is a cripple?!]

[So sad~~~]

Yeah, I could hear the sadness in her voice. It was very giddy.

Anyway, to Tae Yong, my simple reply made sense. I was a royalty after all. Royals were only focused on one thing. Making babies.

"Regardless," Tae Yong wisely ignored that remark and said, "I would still like to know what intentions you hold for my sister."

"Haha," I chuckled. My chuckle wasn’t confusing but rather annoying to her. Still, she remained calm and let speak, "I’m not the only one who you should be getting rid of."

Tremble...

A small tremble passed through the entire building. I didn’t need to specify what and who I was talking about. My words couldn’t have been clearer and she knew what I was talking about.

"Now, as a master, you cannot kill Geum Ha but I am a different story." I proposed in clear and precise words and added, "How would you like to get rid of the person who really holds so nefarious intentions for your daughter, oh great Cheonma?"

Crack!
