Their journey was uneventful as this group of seven soldiers almost successfully arrived at their destination without any mishaps.
Within their sight was a five ter tall wall made out of galvanized steel roof, wooden planks and whatnot including even large wheels and tires with barbed wires on top with a single watchtower at the gate.
The two sentries at the gate imdiately saw the approaching group and their countenance imdiately turned serious as they loaded their guns and pointed it towards the incoming group of ard people as they also yelled behind them and so reinforcent imdiately ca atop the walls and looked cautiously at the approaching group of ard n. This people are actually soldiers but their weapons seemingly suffered a drop in quality as almost of them are using old bolt action rifles while so are even using crossbows.
Then, then the seven Delta Force soldiers imdiately ca onto a screeching halt as they stopped a few yards away from the wall.
Then their Captain took a few steps forward with his arms and rifle in their and said, "Don't shoot! I'm Captain Reed of Delta Force! and my team had been trapped for quite a while in Stonehaven and only managed to arrived here after a perilous journey that took a few hours just to arrive here! Is Colonel Russell present!? He would be able to confirm who we are! I want to speak to him!"

At the wall.
"Sir, what do we do? He says he's from Delta. Well, it's pretty obvious with the insignia on their arms" a soldier ard with a crossbow asked the man beside him.
The person in question has a complicated look on his face as he didn't want to bother Commanding Officer of this compound but with an ard group of people claiming they are from the Delta Force and even wearing their combat uniforms and most of all, they are also ard with high caliber weapons. A vast difference between themselves.
But if they are really what they said they are, then the compounds strength would rise at a least level than before.
But this person wasn't sure if he really should believe this person's words. After all, Colonel Russell is the highest officer within the compound and it's already below him to attend matters like this one with how busy the said person is in the running the place smoothly.
'But what if he was telling the truth? Then that would be trouble if I didn't heed their words' the person with a rank of Second Lieutenant massaged his temple in contemplation.
The Lieutenant then just sighed and gave the order to the soldier beside him, "Go and report it to Colonel Russell about what's happening here"
"Yes sir!" the soldier gave a salute before hurrying towards the command center in the middle of the compound.

Outside the wall.
Captain Reed imdiately sighed in relief when he saw a soldier leaving off from the wall while others put down their aid weapons at them, down.
A few minutes later.
Captain Reed and the rest could clearly hear the hurried footsteps at the other side along with fierce shouting and with that, the gate at the wall slowly opened up as a black man along with a couple of soldiers, stepped out of the gate.
The two groups then t up as they stood opposite of each other.
The black man around fifty years of age smiled and imdiately walked over to Captain Reeds while the latter also did the sa.
Then they clasped both each others right hand and gave each other a good pat on their backs.
"You're alive kiddo Reed! Welco back from "hell"! Mwahaha!"
"It's good to see you still alive and kicking Colonel!"
'It seems the two are familiar with each other' the Lieutenant earlier heave a sigh of relief.
"Co! Before those beast gets wind of us here!" Russell gestured for them to enter the walled compound.
The rest then followed him inside and just as they passed through the gate.
Colonel Russell then posed a question that he has been aning to ask earlier.
"Seeing that you guys are still holding those recent firearms, ans that they still work so where did you guys get your firearms from? We all know that modern firearms don't freak*ng work at all and now we're forced to use those outdated weapons stuck in the storage! It's a good thing that the comms from WWII still works and we're finally able to communicate back at the holand!"
Reeds was already expecting those questions to co even before they got here so he just answered him calmly and said, "We found this bad boys from a treasure chest that looks like its been subrged in the ground for a long ti now so..yeah. It's really weird finding modern firearms inside an old and decaying chest"
"Now that the Captain said it, it's really weird at that ti. It's soone purposely put this firearms inside that chest"
"Yeah, what's more. They still freaking works while the rest doesn't anymore. It's like so kind of god forbid the use of modern weapons"
Suddenly, Reeds and Russell suddenly stopped in their tracks when they heard the word "god" like they were struck with a mont of realization.
'Could it be..?'
'T-this...that's impossible..could a god really exist? And it's punishing us now!?'
'Damn! If a god really do exist then this world is so f*cked up!' both of them shuddered in thought of what would happen if a god really was the one behind all of these chaos in the world.
"Captain, you alright?"
"Sir, is sothing wrong?"
""Ahh?""
"I'm good"
"I'm fine"
Then both of them looked at each other and smiled bitterly as they thought to themselves, 'It seems he also realized sothing'
After that little episode, they just continued on their way as the Captain Reed and his team started familiarising with their surroundings.
A few monts later, they finally reached their lodging. It was a camp barrack for soldiers.
"This is only the available place left that has still vacancies so you guys would be sharing it with the others so I hope you don't mind"
"It's already enough Colonel, thank you sir"
"Alright, I'll go back first. It seems we'll have a long talk this coming few days" Russell said as he patted the shoulders of Captain Reeds and the rest before walking off with his entourage.
The others then gave a salute and waited for him to walk away before entering their lodging.
All of them imdiately jumped onto the beds of their own choosing and all of them except Captain Reeds imdiately fell asleep, snoring away their worries as they finally had the chance to relaxed their nerves for a long ti.
Captain Reeds then walked over to a window and closed his eyes, then he opened them. His then once blue eyes suddenly turned golden around his pupils like that of an eagle.
He was able to see the places hundred ters away in front of him like it was just in front of him.
"It's like my eyes just upgraded to beco a natural binoculars like that of a bird" he mumbled before he went over to his bed and also took his much needed relaxing rest for quite a long while.
