CHAPTER 31 – REQUEST AND PERMISSION
It was the day following rc’s final lesson with Rosemary, or two days after the Accolade. The Chief’s mansion was where rc was right now.
“Hey, rc. Do you have so business with the Chief?”
“Jonahim?! You were still here?”
Just as rc was about to knock on the Chief’s mansion’s door, the mansion’s door opened, revealing the adventurer Jonahim. His sword was slung to his side, and he was dressed in everyday clothes. He didn’t have on the armor he’d worn when they went out to defeat the Ghezo Velche.
Given that the celebration had been two days ago, rc was surprised to find him still here.
“Should I have left? We chose to stay yesterday so that we could check up on the mountain in case there were any Velche left. Thankfully, there weren’t any, and when we were finished, the Chief invited us to spend another night, which we gladly accepted.”
“So you’re leaving today?”

rc’s mind swirled with scandalous thoughts as images of Elea’s drunken form, from the party the other day, surfaced in her mind. Fortunately, in this life, her body lacked the part that could react to those thoughts, so she simply cleared her throat awkwardly1.
“Ahem. I understand. I presu you’ll be leaving alongside her when noon cos, right?”
“That’s right.”
“Then what about Luka?”

“Is that so?”
Jonahim didn’t seem to want to talk about Luka based on his behavior and the way he was attempting to dodge the subject.
Did they have a good ti until late last night, and she’s still sleeping because she’s exhausted, or anything naughty like that?
Those were the kind of naughty thoughts that ran through rc’s head. However, it would be hard for her to ask that, so rc, despite her curiosity, chose to respect Jonahim’s position and refrained from asking.
“Say Jonahim, could you do a favor?”
“Of course. After all, you’re our savior; if it is anything I can do, I’d gladly assist.”
“You’re over-exaggerating… Nonetheless, in such case, I’ll ask.”
rc remarked with a serious expression on her face and proceeded to bow her head.
“Could you take with you when you leave the village?”
“You want to leave the village?” The Chief asked rc.
“That is correct.”
rc had co to the Chief after parting with Jonahim to inform him about her decision.
It would be unthinkable for anyone to leave the village before reaching adulthood, but rc had already been approved by the Chief and had already undergone the Accolade, despite the fact that it was a simple one.
The Chief had no reason to refuse her.
“I’m familiar that you wish to leave the village. However, I never imagined that it would be this soon…”

Despite the fact that he had no reason to refuse her, the Chief appeared to be conflicted.
“You’ve shown yourself a warrior by defeating the Ghezo Velche. And I feel you’ll be able to hold your own in the real world. Your ntality, however, is still that of a 14-year-old2… You are still considered a child as an elf. You can’t be sure you won’t be seduced by sweet talk or mislead by evil thoughts.”

rc grinned to herself as those thoughts swirled within her head, then shook her head and spoke to the Chief.
“Chief, one of the reasons I went to train with Miss Rosemary was to strengthen my ntality, as well. And it was just yesterday that my master gave permission to leave her side.”
“What?! I don’t have anything further to say now that the Fairy, Miss Rosemary, has given her approval. But weren’t you the one in charge of the livestock’s care?”
“Those who were originally assigned to it are still here. Because of Master’s request, they simply shared so of their work with . They won’t be bothered even if I leave.”
“I see…”
When rc said that, she wasn’t lying.
The livestock was usually looked for by the Alchemists and Healers who lived in the village. rc had just taken over a portion of those people’s duties and had been doing it until now, thanks to Rosemary’s support.
With rc gone, the Healers would only get back the part that they had shared with her, thus there would be no issues. However, there would almost certainly be so.
It’s not like they didn’t take care of it before. They’ll just have to work as hard as they did before I showed up.
rc thought.
“Hmph. Okay then. It’s not like I have any reason to stop you now that you’ve undergone the Accolade. I’ll allow you to leave the village.”
“Thank you.”
“So? When are you leaving?”
“I’ve heard that the adventurers are leaving at noon, thus I’m planning to leave with them.”
“I see, I see… Wait, what?! Doesn’t that an you’ll be leaving at noon?!”
“That is correct.”
The Chief was completely shocked to learn the news. Even rc had intended to make other preparations before departing, but because Blazing Impact was departing today, she had opted to accompany them.
After all, it had been a while since she had ventured into the human world. Traveling with individuals who were used to it would be reassuring for her.
“Good grief, you’re quite the crazy one. Well, since you said you wanted to leave the village and beco an adventurer, I’ve never thought of you as an ordinary elf. I’ll allow it. You’re free to go.”
“Thank you.”
rc rose up and was about to leave after gaining the Chief’s approval when the Chief spoke to her again.
“rc.”
“Yes?”
“Since you’re accompanying the adventures, could you please say sothing to their magician on my behalf?”
“The magician? Oh, you an Luka?”
“That’s right. Could you please warn her not to sell questionable items to our residents the next ti she cos to visit?”
“…”
“It’s difficult for to say this because they are our village’s saviors. Still, it is not guaranteed that they won’t visit again, so please tell her that, okay?”
“O-Okay…”
What in the world did she do…? I sowhat understand why Jonahim avoided talking about her…
