"Although the damage done to the country during the anima attack also led to the loss of points, the Superhuman Alliance didn't penalize us too much even with the enormous amount of damage the Armageddon battle caused. It was understandable since there was no other way for us to defeat it. And after taking into account the actions of the Vanguard Guild over the past few months, we were able to make up the points lost, and as it stands, we are at the very top of the leaderboard. The second-place team is Germany, but that is only because every single anima subjugated there is given to the military, who then sells it to the Superhumans Alliance without fail. There are no underground rchants over there, so they have a much higher turnout on that front."

Mark spoke up again.

"And how many superhumans are allowed to represent each country? Is it just the one?"

Henry shook his head.

"Each country is allowed ten participants. How they choose their participants and who represents them is completely up to the discretion of the Superhuman Alliance Branch in that country, but there is a lot riding on this, and choosing the right participants is very important. That's why I want you on my team. With you on my team, I can be assured that we will not only win, we'll steal the hearts of the entire world while doing it."

Henry smiled at Mark again as he said this, and Mark tilted his head to one side and finally thought about it one last ti. Mark did not like the lilight. It was sothing he had always run away from. But after all of the roadblocks they'd faced when trying to get into Japan, Mark didn't think he had much of a choice anymore. This was the perfect opportunity for him to find out what was going on in that country, and if it ant he had to put on a show for the world for a little while, then Mark decided that there were far worse things than that.

When Mark spoke up again, Henry's smile widened.

"Fine, I'll do it. But I have conditions. The remaining mbers of my team… I'll be the one to pick them myself."

Henry's smile died out imdiately and he chuckled a little while leaning back. Henry knew that Mark was going to bring up a condition like this once he knew that there was more than one participant per country! Henry really hoped that he would be able to get just Mark to join because he already made plans for the other team mbers who would join the tournant. Even though Henry was doing this to help the tournant gain popularity, he was also doing it to help his own popularity in the Superhuman Alliance.

Henry needed his own people to be at the forefront of this tournant.

"No, no, that won't be possible. You see, Mark, I already registered so of the Alpha Squad mbers as part of your team. I don't know if you'll be able to—"

Mark's eyes narrowed.

"I said, I'll pick my own team. You either take the deal, or you leave it."

Henry frowned, and he suddenly felt like rubbing his temples with his hands as a headache almost assaulted him. He sighed silently and finally raised his palms up to try and calm Mark down while putting forward a counteroffer.

"Okay, how about this? I only registered so of the Alpha Squad. So there are still so slots left. I'll pick out seven mbers that will represent Arica from my squad, and then you and two other mbers of your choosing can complete the squad. That way, we can all be happy. Is that acceptable to you?"

"Five mbers."

Henry almost groaned as he heard Mark's counter offer and Hnery spoke again.

"Six mbers from the Alpha Squad and four from your guild."

"Five mbers."

This shit is going to give a fucking aneurysm.

Henry finally put his hands on his head and sighed as he nodded to agree to Mark's offer. It was going to be far more difficult to make himself stand out with the Vanguard guild taking the lilight, but Henry could still make it work.

Mark finally nodded back to Henry before he turned to the side to look at Luna and silently asked her what she thought about this. Luna was more knowledgeable about the Superhuman Alliance since she had been working with them for a long ti as a SOVERIGN. She knew whether a deal like this would be favorable or if Henry was just trying to screw them over by making them agree to it. When Luan gave Mark a nod in return, Mark knew that the deal was a good one.

Mark finally spoke up.

"Fine then, we'll accept the offer, but just make sure your group doesn't get in our way. We'll work together if we have to. But that is only if there's no other choice in the matter. I'd rather not have to waste ti babysitting your Alpha Squad."

Alpha One clicked his tongue in irritation once Mark said this, and he mumbled sothing quietly that was still heard by everyone in the room anyway.

"Little kid's talking like he's a man."

Mark's eyes narrowed into a glare the mont Alpha One said this, and Mark pinned Alpha One with an intense stare before he asked.

"Did you say sothing?"

Alpha One grit his teeth, and he was about to repeat himself louder, but Alec imdiately appeared right behind Alpha One and put his hand on Alpha One's shoulder. Mark was the only person in the room who was able to follow Alec's movent, and even Alpha One was stunned when he suddenly felt soone touching him. Alec's hand on Alpha One's shoulder tightened angrily, and Alec turned to look at Mark before speaking.

"No, he didn't say anything at all. I'm sure he just had sothing in his throat. Isn't that right, One?"

Alpha One easily recognized the threat in Alec's voice, and he clicked his tongue once more before he turned his head away and ignored everyone in the room. Mark humd and accepted Alec's olive branch before standing to leave while giving them a few last words.

"My guild will be in touch for the details about the tournant, and I'll send you a list of everyone participating from the guild soon. Until then, try to make sure the mbers you choose can keep up, Henry."

Henry nodded to Mark's words, and then Mark left. Once Mark was gone, Henry turned to look at Alpha One with a glare, and Alpha One huffed angrily and turned his eyes away from Henry as he felt so irritation rising in his heart.

Henry growled at Alpha One.

"What the fuck do you think you were doing back there!? Were you really trying to antagonize the strongest man in the world because you're a few years older than him!? Are you fucking stupid!?"

Alpha One growled sothing in the back of his throat, but he didn't speak back to Henry, and Henry just sighed tiredly as he closed his eyes and leaned back in his seat. Henry knew that Alpha One had a serious ego problem, and it had only been worsened by the anima blood that was affecting his personality, but this was too much.

If Alpha One had ruined the eting back there, then everything Henry had planned out would have been thrown down the drain like trash!
