If the demon lord goes to the capital and actually signs the treaty, there was a chance that the demons who aren't in support would rebel.
Hunn had been trying his best to gain support for the demon lord's cause all this ti and he had already gathered a significant number of demon clans that were in support of peace. But they were only about half of the demon race. The other half were not even bothering to listen to Hunn's words! They didn't care about peace, and as far as they were concerned, the demon lord was insane for even suggesting peace.
Hunn spoke up.
"My lord, perhaps we should try and postpone the eting with the Angels for a few more days. The demon army is still very volatile right now, and there might be a lot of backlash if we sign the treaty."
Mark narrowed his eyes in irritation as he heard this before he sighed as he cald his irritation, Mark knew that there would be those who didn't support this. It was normal.
"There will always be those against peace, Hunn. I don't know when another chance like this will present itself, so if we do not take this one, we might never get another one. We are going to the eting and we will sign the peace treaty. Say you are with ."
Mark stared Hunn down with intensity, and Hunn felt all of his worries get pushed down under such pressure. Hunn decided then that they would have to deal with any form of rebellion after the peace treaty was signed. For now, they should focus on what was most important.
"Very well, my lord. I am with you."

[The Angel Kingdom – Capital City]
"Are the preparations complete?"
A man in full armor spoke to a woman who saluted once she heard his voice. The man was the head guard for the royal forces, a tall, muscular man nad Seraph. He had a sword and spear strapped to his back with another sword tied to his right waist. The woman he spoke to was the commander of one of the sections of the royal guard nad Greatha. She was also wearing full armor, but she held her helt under her arm to reveal her blond hair and angular face. She nodded to his question.
"Yes, sir. The guards are all prepared and we will move out on your order. Uhm…"
The woman hesitated to say her next words, and the man could see that she was debating whether to speak what was on her mind or not. He waved her on, and she nodded before she spoke up.
"Sir, forgive for asking, but what exactly is His Majesty trying to achieve by agreeing to sothing like this? I understand that the demons requested a eting to discuss so sort of peace treaty, but is there even a chance that the demons would ever want peace after everything they've done? Why are we entertaining this at all?"
The woman had beco more and more confident in her words as she spoke, and by the ti she was finished, her face was squeezed into a look of fury that showed just how irritated she was by the entire premise of what was going on here. Seraph nodded in agreent. He was also curious about the thought process of the demon lord who sent the letter requesting the eting, but sothing like that was not important.
"Whether the demons want to sign a peace treaty or not isn't our concern. All we know is that they are willingly walking into our territory, and we are not going to let this opportunity slip by. We will listen to what they have to say, and then we will give our conditions for their surrender. We'll see how things go from there."
The woman huffed as she turned to look out of the corridor window with a frown. There was a large wall in the distance that surrounded the central city on all sides. It was the highest form of defense that they possessed against the demons. It was crafted from reinforced Titan tal that even S-tier fighters find hard to dent! It had been strengthened for decades and layered over the entire wall by the best masons the angels had. There were light magic shields cast on mana stones lining the wall's sides, and anyone who tried to break in through the air would find themselves pelted with hundreds of thousands of light arrows at various sentry points.
The eting with the demons was going to take place outside of this wall, and it was only due to this fact that the woman felt any form of ease with the idea of eting with the demons. At least when things go south during the eting, the citizens inside the walls would be safe from the fighting.
The man spoke up.
"Go and prepare your troops for their arrival. The demons will be here any mont now."
"Yes, sir."
The woman walked away, and Seraph walked back to the main throne room where three people were having a eting. One of them was a tall, lanky man with short wings folded behind him. Another man, this one a more dignified-looking man with strong wings and an air of regality around him, was hunched over as he spoke into the ears of the third person in the room.
The third person was a young man with the largest wings you would ever see. The wings were so large and powerful-looking that it seed unfit to be attached to soone so young. The young man had on pure white regalia with gold stitched into various areas, and on his head, he wore a white-gold crown over his white hair.

This young man was King Richard the Second, the youngest king that the angels had ever seen and the one who took up the throne after his father, King Richard the First, was killed in a battle against a previous demon lord.
King Richard the Second beca king at the young age of thirteen, and because of that, he had needed advisors and aides to help him in making many of the decisions that affected his people. The strong, regal-looking man who was speaking into his ear at that mont was his most trusted aide, Ephraim.
Ephraim looked up once Seraph entered the throne room, and he asked how the war preparations were going.
"They are going well, my liege. The soldiers are prepared for any form of ambush, and you will have an entourage of the strongest warriors to protect you when you go to et with the demons."
Ephraim nodded and told Seraph that he could leave, and Seraph bowed to the king once more before leaving the room. Once he left, King Richard turned to Ephraim.
"Ephraim, are you sure this is a good idea? eting the demons…"
Ephraim turned to look at his king before telling the last man in the room to leave as well so that they could talk privately. The lanky man bowed to the king and left before Ephraim spoke.
"We already spoke about this, your Majesty. This is an opportunity we cannot let pass."
