Back at the demon outpost that had just fired at the Angel Barricade, Greth, the werewolf leader of the outpost, dropped his binoculars with a sigh as he saw their attacks hitting the Angel barricade and destroying a part of it.

The soldiers behind him who had fired the arrows were already beginning to move out in preparation for the Angel retaliation, and Greth knew that by the ti the Angels sent their attacks, the outpost would be empty.

"We've definitely done it now. Things were fine for so long without any sort of conflict. It was only a matter of ti before things escalated again."

Greth obviously did not like the idea of angering the Angels and inciting conflict, since he knew that his forces were not as powerful as the Angel forces. But since the demon lord himself commanded it, Greth had no right to refuse the plan.

Now, they were going to move toward the trading town and use that to draw the enemy in. This way, they would hold their attention for a long ti and allow the other demons to take the barricade holding down the mining town.

"I hope this works. Our sacrifice cannot be in vain!"

At the outpost protecting the mining town from the Angels, the demons had all gone into position in preparation for the coming battle. There were hundreds of demons lined up in front of the outpost with their weapons and armor. So demons were flying in the air, keeping watch over the army, and the only sound in the region was the clacking of horse hooves on the ground.

Mark had sent out a ssage to the leader of the outpost — a hobgoblin known as Tusk — and told him to launch an attack the mont they got a ssage from the trading outpost that the Angels had been distracted.

The hobgoblin was obviously wondering how in the world they would get a ssage quickly, since there were no speedy thods of communication in the world. If the outpost protecting the trading town distracted the Angels and sent out a carrier pigeon, the pigeon wouldn't reach the hobgoblin's outpost until at least two hours later.

That would waste a lot of ti, and it's possible that the Angels would also catch wind of what was happening in that ti. Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire

But Mark had a simple idea that he gave only to the generals and council mbers in the army. The lack of a proper communication thod really made Mark uncomfortable, so along with his letter, he sent a missive to the generals informing them of a new thod of communication.

Smoke signals.

In this world, there were various stones that could be burned easily to produce smoke, but these stones only ever produced white smoke and nothing else. However, along with the ssage that the outpost received, there also ca a small box filled with various liquids and instructions on how to use those liquids.

These liquids were chemicals that Arit had concocted using various elents that she found in this world. Even though Arit wasn't the most gifted strategist, she was still a brilliant academic, and unlike Mark, who didn't bother listening to many of his chemistry lectures, Arit had been the best student in that class.

It was easy for Arit to ask the demon servants to bring her various salts and stones in the area, and she managed to find out which ones burned with colorful smoke and which ones they couldn't use for Mark's plan. It took Arit the better part of a day to finish all of this, but in the end, Arit was able to co up with five different smoke signals that were useful for the army.

Since the two outposts were close enough that smoke rising in the sky could be seen by one from the other, Mark was going to make them send ssages to one another using the colored smoke. That way, they wouldn't have to send out pigeons, and they could make adjustnts and new plans based on what was going on at the different war fronts.

The hobgoblin was stunned by this innovation, and even though it was sothing so simple, it was absolutely brilliant to him. He had never seen sothing like this being done, so he was a bit skeptical about it, but he knew that it was going to work simply because of how simple it was.

All the colors written on the missive gave out one or two word ssages that couldn't be misinterpreted or forgotten. Things like "need reinforcents," "winning," "enemy retreating," and "losing" were well labeled, and the hobgoblin spent the next few hours after getting that missive morizing all of the ssages well.

So when a bright green smoke billowed into the sky on the horizon, painting the sky in the bright shade of grass, the hobgoblin imdiately knew what that ant.

Start Battle.

"It's ti! All forces, charge!!"

The hobgoblin raised his sword in the air threateningly, urging his forces forward, and all of the demons around him released a roar as they raced toward the Angel barricade!

The ground rumbled and shook from the force of hundreds of horses and demons racing through the region, and the Angels followed suit, flying out from their barricade in droves as they charged straight for the demons!

The angels had already noticed the movent from the demons earlier, and the commander of the Angels, a large man known as Raphael, had already prepared his troops and gotten ready for an attack. So once the demons began their charge, Raphael shouted out to the angels and told them to begin their own attack!

The horde of angels and demons charged straight for one another, and another line of angels behind the charging angels prepared their light attacks and shouted into the air while activating it!

"Arrow of Light!"

The sky glowed with a golden hue as hundreds of golden arrows were shot out toward the demons! The demons never stopped charging forward, and the hobgoblin, Tusk, called all dark mages and told them to fire their defensive spells!

The darkness elent was very rare in the world of Rosario, and only the demon species were known to develop it due to their twisted nature.

Just as the light spell was very dangerous for the demons and would kill them the fastest out of all the spells, the darkness spell was the only weakness that the light spell had, and it was also the one spell that would kill the Angels the fastest out of all the elental spells in Rosario.

This contrast of power was one of the major reasons why the Angels and demons had been at war for so long without either gaining the upper hand. The angels had the one spell capable of killing demons easily, and the demons also had the spell that would cause an angel to die from just a single hit. This prevented either side from acting rashly and kept them at a stalemate in most of their battles!

But the sudden charge from the demons had angered the angels enough that they did not care about the dangers of the darkness spell anymore! They were going to kill these dirty creatures today and take this land for their own!
