Bradley sat on his bed, the distant sound of the waterfall and rain drowning all of his thoughts. He was lost in the knowledge that this was going to be his last day as a Defender.

He took so ti to gather his thoughts on what was going to happen to him next. This Chapter of his life was quite important to him, but he would have to leave it behind today.

Starting tomorrow, he would have to think and act like a mayor. As the old man Sam said, he was going to have to beco an entirely different person. The thought that the old man was right scared him, but the mayor had given his words that he wouldn’t change.

Even so, there wasn’t much he could do. He had already made the decision to beco a mayor, so this was going to be his last day as the defender, whether he liked it or not.

Having made up his mind, Bradley finally got up from his bed and beca determined.

"Mother, don’t you worry. Your son will never give up," Bradley spoke out loud. "Stanley, just you watch. Your brother is going to beco the best damn mayor this town has ever seen."

After speaking to himself and motivating himself, Bradley dressed up. He took the hat that was to the side of the bed as he dressed up as well.

It was a circular hat, made up of leather and clothes with a strap on either side to fasten it to your chin.

This was the type of hat that Stanley was asking him for, the one that would stop rain from getting into one’s face when fighting. So, he was more than happy to get it for him.

He looked around the room at anything more his brother could need. He had taken him so of his spare clothes, so there wasn’t much he could give him.

"Well, this should be fine," Bradley thought and walked out of the room. He headed over to let the mayor know where he was going, but it seed the mayor was still deep in the mansion.

Since he wasn’t yet allowed to go deep into the mansion, he decided to leave. It was still early in the morning, and it seed it was going to be another cold day with the rain.

"Uhh... I wish it was snow instead," Bradley said to himself. At least with snow, it wouldn’t get into his clothes so deep. Seeing that it was raining again, Bradley went to get a straw coat from the mansion.

He walked out with the straw coat on and left the mansion. As he walked down the steps, a voice called for him from the side.

"You’re Bradley, right?" it was a girl’s voice.

Bradley turned around and saw a woman in black with most of her face covered up by a black hood. "Yes, that is ," he said. "Do I know you, sister?"

"Not personally, no," the girl said. "But I’m sure you have heard of ."

"Oh," Bradley said. "Can you show your face so I can see who you might be?"

The girl lifted her hood and showed her face. It was a small, cute face with black hair shaping it perfectly. There was sothing that surprised him about her, and it was the color of her eyes."

It was pitch black. He felt a little unnerved.

"I must say I do not recognize you," Bradley said. "Now, if you don’t have anything important, I must leave."

"My na is Raven," the girl suddenly said. "Of course, that won’t help you recognize who I really am, so here is another piece of information about that should make everything clear."

"I’m the one that killed those people in the warehouse."

"W-what?" Bradley turned around and looked at the woman. The rain fell around them, loud and large. Bradley couldn’t believe what he was hearing at all.

"You heard correctly. I’m the one you Defenders have been looking for since the fight," the girl said.

Bradley imdiately pulled out his sword and clutched it with both hands, ready to use his power if needed.

"Are you here to turn yourself in?" he asked, just in case.

"Tur... Turn myself in? Hahaha," the girl laughed out loud, but it was only the two of them that could hear it with the loud sound of the rain. "Of course not, you idiot!"

Bradley frowned. "Then I must insist you do. Otherwise, you’ll force to fight you to restrain you," he said.

He had read the reports on the girl. He knew she was strong, swift, and had so sort of powers that could cut 3 people’s heads at once. He had to be careful.

"Hmm, You won’t be able to defeat even if you try though," the girl said. "Also, I’m not going to fight you here. I’m going to let you go for now. Fighting here... he’ll get mad at ."

"I don’t think you have a choice if you fight here or not," Bradley said. "You are a murderer and I will capture you here to bring justice to the 3 dead."

"Hmm, if you’re going to bring justice to the 3 dead, I must ntion that they aren’t the only ones I’ve killed. I have killed several many over the years, a number which I doubt you’d believe if I were to tell you."

Bradley frowned.

"Even just that day, I was also partially responsible for the fire that burned those houses, and I have also killed quite a few after that. Either way, I’m trying to say that you can’t compare to . Also, I’m not going to fight you here, where if I move a single step I’ll be in view of the tower," the girl said.

"Instead, I would like to do so fortune-telling. Are you interested?"

"Fortune telling?" Bradley asked while wondering why she couldn’t be seen by the tower.

"Fortune telling, yes," the girl said. "I’m incredibly good at predicting the future. Want to predict one for you?"

Bradley remained silent.

"Here’s the first one," the girl said. "Your brother will die today."

Bradley’s face fell when he heard that and anger started filling him from the inside.

"I’m not done yet," the girl said. "It won’t just be your brother either, but also your friends and the friend’s friends and families and many other people."

"You... bitch!" Bradley said. "How dare you say such things so easily?"

"Huh? Why not?" the girl asked. "Ah, you must not trust then. Alright, here’s the next one that will prove to you that I’m telling the truth."

"The Crawlers will begin their attack on the town today."

"You truly don’t know when to stop, do you?" Bradley asked. "If you think I’d fall for—"

The siren suddenly started blaring, notifying that a Crawler attack was underway.

"Oh... nice timing. See?" the girl asked. "Now, will you stay here and fight ? Or will you go and save your brother?"

Bradley was in a dilemma for a mont. However, he easily chose his brother and started running down the road toward the veil.

The girl stood where she was and looked at Bradley leaving. Then, she turned towards the mansion that was just out of sight and sighed.

"You do not have the strength to do what needs to be done, little brother," the girl said. "So, I will bear the burden today instead."
