Stanley looked at the guns, frowning as he could only see one at a ti. He stopped ti for one of them, but then the other could still move.

For this one, however, Stanley could use a power that did not need him to look at him. He changed the man’s perception of ti, making him think things were moving far slower than they actually were.

He moved at the sa speed as well, his body compensating for his senses. His fingers moved slowly, taking a long ti to pull the trigger. That was all the ti Stanley needed.

Stanley flexed his way out of whatever it was that was holding him and burst into the room. The man imdiately ca out of the ti illusion he was put under and pulled the trigger, but by that ti, Stanley had already moved.

Stanley struck the first man who couldn’t pull the trigger, making him drop the gun. He grabbed the gun at the sa ti and pointed it toward the man, pointing at a slight upward angle.

Then he shot.

The man’s head burst apart, his shield failing to do anything to stop the shot at all. His hands gave up and the guns dropped. He quickly grabbed the gun before it hit the floor and walked out of the room holding the two guns.

He pointed them at the remaining people who were in the room and began shooting one by one, killing them all.

"Get the guns and start here," Stanley shouted at the survivors. "The dical team will get here at any mont. They will co and heal you all."

"Those that aren’t hurt, grab and gun and co with . We need to free the others on this floor."

There was more to the engineering team than just this room after all. The entire floor was there, so there were more people in the other rooms, most actual manufacturers of these weapons.

Stanley took the group of soldiers and made his way through the other places, killing all those who did not wear the bright blue of the engineering team.

The first few of them were caught off-guard, but afterward, they were ready for them. It was obvious to Stanley that these people were clearly getting information about their arrival before they even ca.

They were communicating with each other, while they remained oblivious. The fight lasted a bit longer than what Stanley could have hoped for. There were people so of who had powers that were difficult to get through like a bulldozer.

He had to stop and fight. Thankfully, the two guns he had now cared little for what sort of powers the others had. As long as the bullets hit them, they were dead.

Stanley killed all those he could, his body count was most definitely over 50 by now.

And yet, even though he had killed that many, his ability to slow down ti did not return to him at all. It was supposed to co back already.

Had sothing gone wrong? Was the power forever gone from him because of so issue? Or... had he sohow not killed enough people yet?

’I clearly have,’ Stanley thought. ’But then why?’

The floor was liberated from the enemies and all the engineers began arming themselves. The dical team arrived around the sa ti, Amy at the front of them all.

"Quickly get to those who are seriously hurt. Save them," she shouted at the dical staff who rushed to the wounded.

Amy looked to see who was hurt and then turned toward Stanley. "Soone needs to fix the communications. These people can communicate with each other and we can’t. We’re at a disadvantage."

Stanley nodded. "How do we do that?" he asked.

"I don’t know," Amy said. "Soone more tech-savvy than would know. Does any one of you know how to fix the communication tech destroyed by an EMP?"

"The EMP could only have taken out what was connected to the grid," one of the engineers said. "If you replace the components, it should co back on, the sa for the power."

"Anyone know where any of those are?" she asked.

The engineers shook their heads. "That information is above our clearance level. Only the Director or soone high enough would have access to it."

Stanley frowned. "Who has a high enough level of access to know that sort of thing?" he asked.

"I do, but I never bothered learning," Amy said. She thought for a mont and shouted, "Caleb. He has enough clearance to know everything going on in the AAA. Even without it, he would’ve hacked everything by now and learned it all. I will find him and take him to the ground floor."

She turned around and looked at the group of healers she had brought along. "Blake!" she called out at a middle-aged man. "You are in charge of the people. Take care of them and help all those you can. The rest of you, arm up and fight anyone who doesn’t wear our uniform."

"Yes, Ma’am!" the people shouted unanimously.

Amy walked out in a brisk walk and Stanley followed her. "What now?" he asked her. "Where could Caleb be?"

"I do not know," Amy said. "I will first check on—"

She paused and walked over to the railing before looking down at the ground. "He’s still fighting soone? Who is that person?" she asked.

Stanley looked down and saw Gray in the middle of a fight against the lady who had turned the floor into Lava. He saw the lava golem and the lava hounds, and then so other form of fire manipulations.

"Nova," he said softly. "That’s a Nova, isn’t she?"

"Must be," Amy said. "Damn it! It is troubling if these people have Nova mixed within them."

Stanley frowned as well. "I need to go check on Sheila quickly. She’s in a coma," he said and rembered getting Caleb’s call back then. "Oh, I think he’s in the eting room, with those big screens. He was working on the new AI."

"Is that so? That’s good to know," Amy said.
