Chapter 804: Red, Not Black
"I think we are all ignoring the obvious elephant in the room."
Rak’hael finally spoke up from the side, and she frowned as she looked towards Jason with complete annoyance!
"Although the Rubik who pointed it out was an imposter, there is no denying that Jason Marc’s power is far too great for him to remain as a part of Earth. Are we really considering giving the title of Overlord to a man who should, by every asure, be seen as a Black Enigma?"
Farlow let out a small sigh in annoyance once he heard Rak’hael say this, and even Hesabeth frowned. The two of them had been hoping that no one would bring up this situation, but they should have known Rak’hael wouldn’t let it go! Even though it was not the true Rubik that pointed it out, there was no denying that Jason was still far too strong for the power level of his world! Jason could enslave every single Earthling by himself if he wanted to, and that is enough reason for the council to see him as an Enigma.
But before the council could blow things out of proportion, a calm voice suddenly echoed through the room.
"If I may. I’d like to say sothing."
Everyone looked towards Jason as he stood up calmly, and the room descended into silence as they waited for him to address them. Jason let out a calm sigh, and he then spoke.
"I believe that my Black Enigma status was given as a result of the vast difference in power between myself and the rest of the people on my world. But I don’t believe that this status can be retained anymore since the people of Earth have all grown significantly stronger during the past few months. My fiancée, sitting right here, is a TITAN Rank as well, and there are many people in my world who are on the brink of achieving TITAN Rank. And according to the Primordial Treaty, so long as I am not the only TITAN Rank existing on a world, then the highest Enigma rating that I can be given is Red, not Black."
Jason’s speech left many of the council mbers shocked, but many other council mbers, like Hesabeth and Farlow, felt pride in their hearts when they heard everything Jason had to say! It was obvious that even in the midst of all the madness that had been going on, Jason had already predicted soone bringing up his Enigma status, and he had prepared a way to handle it easily!
Jason knew that the Enigma status would be a big deal to the council, and that was why he had spoken to the system the previous night and asked it to give him the section of the Primordial Treaty that contained the laws on Enigmas. And after reading through all that, Jason realised that he could no longer be a Black Enigma since he was no longer the only TITAN Rank on Earth! Jason was still right on the edge of becoming a Black Enigma since he was close to becoming a Primordial! But for now, Jason was fucking safe!
"And how do you know there are multiple mages close to becoming TITANs on Earth? I don’t believe you’ve set foot on your world for more than two months now. So, unless you have so sort of psychic ability that allows you to spy on others, then we cannot take your word for it."
Jason’s eyes narrowed when he heard that, and he turned to Rak’hael in irritation! Rak’hael was staring straight at Jason with a frown on her face, and she was waiting for Jason to either confirm or deny what she had just said. But Jason was obviously not going to confirm sothing like that! Do you know how important Jason’s ability to spy on others was? If Jason made it public here that he had the ability to use his subordinates like spies, then there would be a lot more cautious people around him, and he wouldn’t be able to use them anymore! Instead, Jason’s mind quickly ran through many different possible explanations, and it didn’t even take three seconds before Jason ca up with an explanation! Jason spoke in a calm, even tone that didn’t allow anyone to tell what he was really thinking at all!
"I spoke to the priestess of Radagan, Riyala, about it before the trial began. Priestess Riyala has been paying regular visits to Earth to et with my mother and the rest of my family. Council mber Rak’hael, if you have sothing against
personally, then I think it’ll be best to deal with those issues outside of your duties. You’re embarrassing yourself with the constant false accusations."
"You-!"
Rak’hael was already halfway to her feet before Jason even finished what he was saying! Her face squeezed in absolute anger as she stared Jason down! But C’thlyanu quickly called the eting to order once again, and Rak’hael could only glare at Jason hatefully as she was forced to take her seat once again! Hesabeth snickered into her fan when she saw Rak’hael lose her cool so easily, and even Farlow couldn’t help the small smile on his face when he saw how Jason handled the situation! T’arigan finally spoke up and said that he could also confirm there were now at least three SSS Ranks on Earth, and that was more than enough people to reduce Jason’s rank from Black to Red, and Rak’hael was forced to accept this as the truth as she leaned back in annoyance.
But even though the rank of Jason’s Enigma status was no longer high enough for him to be regarded as a criminal, it was still high enough to take the ranking of his entire world down by a few points! And this ant that Jason and Earth were lagging slightly behind the other worlds! Jason glanced to the side, and he could see the Bengari won talking in low voices about the trial. The warrior guards surrounding Diane were all excited about possibly coming out on top here, but Diane was not involved in their conversation at all! Instead, Diane was staring right at Jason with a narrowed, suspicious gaze! For so reason, Diane had a feeling that there was sothing wrong here! During the last argunt, it almost felt like Jason wasn’t interested in getting rid of his Enigma status at all! Jason was more interested in just taking the status down from Black to Red! Does this an that there was sothing Jason was planning?
Jason gave Diane a small smile in return, and Diane felt her brow twitch in anger as her eyes narrowed even more! Diane was certain that Jason was definitely planning sothing! Jason turned back to the council as they spoke up once again, and this ti they brought up the last and final condition that was seen as the most important one. The financial capacity of the world the new Overlord belongs to must be in the top ten percent of worlds in their Primordial Domain! The reason this was so important was because even though power was necessary to keep the peace, there were many other issues that could only be dealt with using money and comrce! The Primordial Expanse was not at war right now, so the main duties of the council mbers were diplomacy, trade, and dealing with infrastructural damage around their Primordial Domains. And if they didn’t have the money to deal with these issues, then the entire Domain would suffer for it!
