Chapter 769: The Elven Festival

The elves were very calm and peaceful people, and even though they were celebrating, that sa calmness could still be seen in the way they did things! Many of the elves were either sitting in treetops with their loved ones and talking in calm voices or walking across the forest grounds while laughing and enjoying the festivities. There were glowing orange balls of light flying around the forest to brighten the darkness. The balls of light were actually magical house pets known as Knolls that had a similar ability to fireflies, which allowed them to glow in the dark, and the elven children could be seen flying through the air to chase down so of the balls with large sticks.

All across the trees, there were various decorations and hanging lanterns that released pleasant natural incense around the forest. The festival stretched all the way from the Central Forest out towards the main castle, and people could be seen moving around the castle grounds and chatting happily with one another while a gentle elven band played a beautiful song while floating on a large disk of light to one side of the castle grounds. In the world of elves, everyone was like family, and since elves were so long-lived, they had all ford a bond with one another that prevented any major divisions amongst their people. That was why you could easily see mbers of the royal family as well as the servants and guards spending ti together on the castle grounds and drinking with one another. The civilians were allowed to pass through the castle gates to co and have a drink with royalty, and even the young royal children were allowed to go play and fly around with the other children.

Bwwuuuhhhh!

But all of a sudden, a loud horn echoed through the forest, and all the elves on the castle grounds, as well as those in the forest, all turned to glance towards the large balcony where they could see multiple figures standing. There were guards holding weapons on either side of the balcony, and in the middle of the balcony stood an announcer who spoke loudly over the crowd.

"It is my great honor to welco to the festival the rulers of Arandelle. Our benevolent King Farlow, and after so long, our gracious Queen Camille."

The announcer stepped to the side and bowed respectfully while revealing Farlow and Camille. The elves all cheered and clapped with wide smiles on their faces once they saw their Queen and King standing together once again. It had been decades since they were last greeted by this sight, and they didn’t know how much they missed it until this mont! Both Farlow and Camille waved and smiled to the crowd of elves as they soaked up the cheers. But Farlow knew that these cheers weren’t ant to be for them, so he nodded to the announcer, and the man turned to the crowd once again and announced!

"And now allow

to introduce you to the woman who made this all possible. The woman who risked her own life and faced the Queen of the Spirit world with bravery and courage to ensure that our Queen returned to us safely! We owe her family a debt of gratitude that can never truly be repaid! It is my honor to present to you, Lady Gina Marc, and her betrothed, the undying King, Lord Jason Marc!"

This ti, the cheers were even greater than they had been for the King and Queen! The elves already knew from the rumors that had been spreading around that Gina was the one responsible for helping the Queen to return safely! And after they had seen Jason and Gina coming back from the forest together, Gina’s reputation had only grown since the elves all recognized Jason as the man who was responsible for the Machina Massacre! Jason and Gina finally walked forward to look down at all the gathered elves. The two of them were now wearing traditional Elven ceremonial outfits that had been given to them by the royal family. The outfits were long, robe-like gowns that ca all the way down to their ankles, with long sleeves that covered their whole hands and collars that went halfway up their necks. In a way, it reminded Jason a lot of the sect uniforms he would normally see in so murim novels he read back on Earth, and when Jason wore it for the first ti, he was surprised to see Esdath nodding in appreciation from inside his Alternate Dinsion.

Gina had been given a white outfit that complented her red hair and eyes in a way that made them shine brilliantly, while Jason had been given a dark outfit that sohow made him look even more imposing than he already was! As the pair walked forward, Jason gave Gina so room and allowed her to soak in the appreciation of the crowd. Farlow had wanted Gina to say a few words to the crowd, but Gina had seriously refused since she wasn’t the sort of person to speak in public, so once they were done with the introductions, Farlow stepped forward to give a few words of thanks and appreciation before telling the elves to please enjoy the festival and party until the morning cos! Gina and Jason finally moved to join the festivities as well, and Jason couldn’t help but think that this was probably the calst festival that he had ever been to! Jason could still rember the festival that they had on Radagan and how all the dragonborn had been very rowdy and excitable! They had sang and danced around a large bonfire, and there had been enough Firewhisky to drown in! But even though the elves also looked excited, it was almost like Jason was in so sort of posh aristocratic party at this mont! Everyone was so refined and calm! Even the regular civilians carried themselves in a way that almost made them look like royalty, and the only source of noise around were the children who were flying after the large balls of light in the sky.

Jason wouldn’t say that the party was boring because there were so elves dancing and they even brought alcohol for them, but both Jason and Gina knew that this party was very lacking when they compared it to the Radagan festival that they had been to before.

’Well, I shouldn’t be surprised. The elves have always been an elitist society. Even though they accept us, that doesn’t an they can get rid of their base nature.’

This thought crossed Jason’s mind, and Jason forced himself to smile at a beautiful elven woman who was talking to him while standing far too close. Gina had been dragged away by Queen Camille so ti ago because Queen Camille wanted to introduce her to all her friends, and the mont Gina left Jason alone, it was as though all the young elven won sward to him like bees to honey. Jason just smiled politely and said hello to anyone who ca too close, but he never allowed their conversation to go on for long before he quickly escaped to sowhere else every ti. Jason thought that his reputation as a genocider would reduce his popularity with the fairer sex, but Jason couldn’t have been more wrong. It was almost like won wanted to be with him even more now compared to before!

’I guess what they say about won is right in any world. They love the thrill of being with a dangerous person.’

Jason finally found an area that was quiet enough under the shade of a large tree, and he was grateful when he didn’t see anyone else approaching him. Jason took a deep breath and released it calmly before taking a long swig from his cup of alcohol. Jason looked up into the bright sky, and he shifted his attention towards his Legion to see how they were doing.
