Chapter 745: Let Go of Your Resentnt
Rak’hael told Mik’hael about everything that had happened with Jason over the past few months. From how Jason fought against Rubik during the trial, to how Jason had run away to clear his na, and how he ended up massacring the Machina race.
"After that, there was another situation with Queen Hesbeath of the Minori that led to many more deaths, and so other things. But during our last eting, I couldn’t believe the sort of things I heard from the council. Can you believe so of them were actually thinking of making Jason a mber of the council? Soone with a criminal record like that?"
Rak’hael turned to look at Mik’hael to see if he agreed with her, but all she saw on Mik’hael’s face was a look of intense curiosity. Mik’hael smiled with narrowed eyes, and he asked a simple question.
"This Jason Marc of Earth. Is he strong?"
Of course, that’s the only thing he’d take from everything I said. Rak’hael let out a tired sigh as she realised she was venting to the wrong person! Her brother was far too much of a battle nut! But surprisingly, Mik’hael managed to calm himself when he saw the genuine concern on his sister’s face, and Mik’hael realised that this was sothing serious! Mik’hael humd before he asked.
"Why are you so against this, Jason joining the council? Would it really be so bad?"
Rak’hael frowned.
"Why am I against it? Isn’t it obvious? He’s a criminal. Do you know how many innocent people he’s killed?"
"Rak’hael, I don’t think either of us has the liberty to claim the moral high ground when it cos to killing. We’ve both committed our fair share of genocides during the war."
Rak’hael flinched before she turned away from Mik’hael’s hard gaze with a frown! Why did Mik’hael have to keep reminding her of those tis? Even though Rak’hael was no longer on the front lines, there was once a ti when both Mik’hael and Rak’hael had been going out to the battlefield together, and during that ti, Rak’hael had killed enough people to make what Jason did to the Machina look like child’s play! If Rak’hael were to start counting just how many lives she had taken, it would probably reach up to a billion! But that had been during the Period of Lawlessness when Rak’hael had no choice but to fight to protect her people! All the people that the Rak’hael killed were enemies that attacked them first, and people who were plotting to attack them! Rak’hael had no choice!
Mik’hael let out a small sigh when he saw the pained expression on his sister’s face. In his heart, Mik’hael always knew that Rak’hael was not soone who enjoyed killing. Even though both Rak’hael and Mik’hael had the sa potential, Mik’hael was stronger than Rak’hael because, unlike Rak’hael, Mik’hael didn’t have any problems with killing! Mik’hael could kill a million people in the morning, and he would go to have lunch with a smile on his face before going to kill another million in the evening without any issues! Rak’hael just couldn’t do sothing like that, and every life Rak’hael took stabbed into Rak’hael’s conscience like a dagger! That was why Rak’hael was more suited for the position of Overlord of the Second Domain than Mik’hael! Rak’hael cared for people far more than Mik’hael did!
Mik’hael humd once more before asking.
"You said earlier that this Jason Marc wasn’t fully human? What is his other origin?"
The air around Rak’hael imdiately beca a lot more tense, and Rak’hael looked away from her brother before she mumbled sothing inaudible towards the ground. Mik’hael blinked, and he stepped closer while asking his sister to repeat herself, and this ti, Rak’hael was just audible enough for Mik’hael to hear her.
"He’s an Avaran."
Mik’hael let out a loud sigh and shook his head!
"Of course. Now it makes sense."
"What do you an, it makes sense! I’m not doing any of this just because of that!"
"Really?"
"Really!"
Rak’hael shouted angrily, and Mik’hael gave Rak’hael the most deadpan look she had ever received! Rak’hael’s cheeks burned red from anger, and she pushed off the table and walked away from Mik’hael! This was absolute bullshit!
"Look, it doesn’t matter, okay! All I’m saying is that Jason is not a good fit for this council!"
Mik’hael shook his head, and he decided that he would stop arguing about this. When his sister got like this, it was impossible to convince her about anything. Mik’hael knew that a lot of Rak’hael’s anger towards the Avarans ca from Richard abandoning her all those years ago, but Rak’hael couldn’t keep dwelling on that.
"Just try to give the kid a chance. If you’re going to judge him, then make sure you’re not blinded by what happened back then. We’re angels, so it’s not healthy to hold resentnt for so long. But this Jason Marc of Earth, he seems pretty interesting. I just might give him a visit soti. He wasn’t alive during the Period of Lawlessness, but from what I’ve heard, I think he would’ve loved it back then."
Rak’hael made a noise of imdiate disapproval, and she pointed a finger at Mik’hael!
"Don’t you dare go anywhere near the sixth Domain! Do you understand!? I will not have you causing an interdomain conflict because of your uncontrollable battlelust! If you attack Jason first, the council will fine us for billions!"
Mik’hael smiled!
"So I just have to make him attack
first, eh? I’ll keep that in mind."
Rak’hael sighed tiredly, and she just decided to let it go! Mik’hael wasn’t going to change anything about himself, so there was no point in trying to change him. Rak’hael reached into her drawer, and she grabbed a docunt before sliding it across her desk to Mik’hael. Mik’hael picked up the docunt and began to scan through it as Rak’hael spoke.
"You have a new mission. This one is Primordial Rank, so please try to read through the docunt properly. There’s been suspicious behaviour from the eastern border of the Primordial Zone. We think it might be a powerful Primordial Army trying to break through the Primordial Filant. Since the eastern region falls in our domain, it threatens our citizens, so I need you to go there and find out if it is a false alarm. If you find anything related to the Primordials, then report back imdiately."
Mik’hael frowned.
"Imdiately?"
"Yes, report back imdiately. This isn’t a joke, so I will not tolerate any form of fighting between you and any Primordials you find. You have to return and warn the various worlds about what’s coming, so we can prepare accordingly. Do you understand?"
Mik’hael let out a small sigh, and he saluted Rak’hael before he turned to leave the room. But before Mik’hael could exit, he heard Rak’hael’s voice following him out.
"It was nice to see you again, Mik’hael. Please, co back safe."
Mik’hael smiled and finally closed the door behind him.
....
[The Forest of Eternal Wind]
[With Gina and Farlow]
Gina jumped across a tall branch and flew into the air before unleashing multiple wind blades all around her! The wind blades flew through the air and cut hundreds of giant wasps to pieces before they could get close, and Gina fell back onto the forest floor as the wasps fell to the ground around her! A few ters away from Gina, Farlow used a wall of wind to block the charge of a giant bear-type beast with various red markings across its body. Farlow used his wind to lift the bear into the air easily before he slamd it into a tree with a wave of his hand! Gina and Farlow had been travelling for the better part of six hours now, and they were already close to the ho of the spirits in this forest, so the number of monsters was starting to increase rapidly.
