Chapter 466: Training Montage

Since the Monarch Guild had more mbers now, Jason had to create a lot more squads within the guild. The Alpha Squad was still the highest-ranking squad, and they would only have the sa ten mbers. But below them were the Beta Squad with twenty mbers and the Gamma Squad that had fifty mbers. Beta and Gamma Squads were mainly in charge of going into Red Gates and collaborating with other squads, while the Alpha Squad was the one in charge of the Orange Gates. Jason had separated the Alpha Squad into two main groups just like he promised, and now he was making each of them handle at least one Orange Gate a week. At first, the Alpha Squad had complained since they didn’t think that five superhumans and a few summons would be enough to take care of the unpredictable number of monsters inside of an Orange Gate, but Jason had believed in them more than they believed in themselves, and he told them that they would do just fine! The guild mbers couldn’t really argue when their guild leader had so much faith in them, and they had eventually just agreed to go into the Gate with only five mbers and fifteen summons. But unknown to them, Jason had sent a Rook Rank III subordinate that was on the sa level as an SS-Rank inside the Gate with each of the groups, and Jason made sure that the subordinate stayed in the shadows, and they were only allowed to interfere if the groups got into a situation that was likely to wipe them all out.

But thankfully, the groups didn’t need the help at all, and Jason’s subordinates never even needed to show themselves! Jason gained over two hundred Pawn-Rank subordinates and a hundred Rook-Rank subordinates during the first week of raids, and the guild received so many mana crystals that Jason was able to pay each mber of the Alpha Squad an extra million-dollar bonus for their great work, while most of the mbers in lower-ranked squads got up to five hundred thousand in bonuses! Jason also realised in that week that he would need to give his sisters so training on how to properly control their abilities. Jason’s sisters were not ’superhumans’, but they still had more power than any regular human, so Jason knew that if he sent them out into the world without any training, then there would definitely be accidents that could cost soone their life. So Jason had sent his sisters to the Monarch Guild, and he asked Juliet to find a teacher who could help them learn how to control their strength. Juliet promised to find the best teacher available, and Jason was grateful that he had soone he could depend on for things like these.

’I’ll buy Juliet sothing big for her birthday. Maybe tickets for a vacation? I feel like I’m working her into the ground.’

Jason had this thought in passing as he continued his training. It had been a week since Jason’s fight against Evon, and Jason found himself standing within the [Land of Living Shadows] to try and get a better feel for it. Jason stood atop a hill looking over the dark and silent world beneath him before he glanced up at the white sun shining in the sky. Jason frowned at the sun as he rembered the madness that tried to consu him, before he turned away and shook his head to get rid of the thoughts. Since the world had a new owner, it was completely devoid of any shadow soldiers, but that wasn’t what Jason was trying to train. Jason started with testing what the limits of the [conditions] he could place on the world were, and Jason was shocked to realise that he could really do whatever the fuck he wanted in there. Jason could erase gravity, vanish air, reverse, slow down or speed up ti, change the concept of ’up’ and ’down’, and he could erase any ’concept’ that he didn’t want to exist! Jason tried erasing the concept of ’sense’, and he was shocked when he lost his ability to sense anything. His sight, sll, touch, taste, and hearing were all gone! Jason imdiately cancelled the world, and he landed in his training room in the real world and chuckled as his senses returned to him. That was fucking uncomfortable.

Jason was a little annoyed that he was only allowed to create one condition each ti he created the shadow world, and it was even worse that the conditions would also affect Jason. Jason could already think of all the damage he could do to entire armies if he put them inside that world, and erased sothing extrely important like gravity or sound! It would throw the entire army into disarray and make it easier for Jason to take them down!

’I’ll just have to train myself to get used to those things then. If I’m used to it, then it won’t matter if I erase any concept. I’ll be able to continue fighting like normal when the opponents are struggling against it.’

Jason made up his mind, and after that training session, he began to dedicate at least two hours every day to going into the shadow world and erasing various concepts so that he could try getting used to it. Jason also sped up his training with Azrael on how to create more complex runes, and he tried to make ti to train with Esdeath so he would gain better control over his Qi! Jason had been trying to find a cultivation technique that would work for him, but Esdeath told Jason that none of the techniques he had would work for soone with Jason’s potential. It would be a waste to dedicate any ti to a technique that wouldn’t suit you! So Esdeath told Jason that he would teach him how to properly utilise and control his Qi for now, and then they would go on a pilgrimage to a distant world later to find a suitable cultivation technique! Jason didn’t mind this since he was still learning a lot during the Qi control lessons! Jason had a lot of ti on his hands since his subordinates were handling both Gates and resurrections for him, so he dedicated all his free ti to one form of training or another.

During his training, Jason also noticed that Gina refused to leave his side for any reason. Ever since Jason went through the ntal attack that had almost driven him to madness, it was like Gina beca even more protective of him. Gina stuck to his side like glue. If Jason was in the training room, then she was in there as well, working on her wind and mana control. If he was practising inside the shadow world, then Gina was either inside with him or waiting outside, and if he was working on his runes, then Gina was sowhere close by working on how to control her own magic. Jason knew that the reason for this was because Gina had been afraid of losing him during the ntal attack, and she just wanted to assure herself that he was fine. And honestly, Jason really didn’t mind that Gina was hanging around him so much! Jason and Gina hadn’t really had so much free ti to themselves since Jason got his powers, but during his training, Jason managed not only to grow his knowledge in all his different paths of power, but he also enjoyed spending ti with Gina like they used to before magic and superhumans complicated everything.

’And we’ve been having sex like animals in fucking heat. I can’t believe we had sex for six straight hours in the training room last night. This much sex can’t be healthy.’

Jason felt a perverted smile spreading on his lips as he thought about the previous night, but he was drawn out of his thoughts when he heard Gina’s voice coming from the kitchen.

"Hey, babe. I got a call from Juliet. She says there are so docunts you need to sign at the office later. What should I tell her?"
