Chapter 438: True Assassins
The agents would be in charge of packing up the dead bodies and keeping the students away to make sure none of the students found a dead body in their class or dorms. So of the officers had obviously been concerned about killing so many people, but Agiel had shut their concerns down imdiately! These were terrorists, and they didn’t deserve to be treated like normal people! If killing a hundred terrorists would ensure that a hundred thousand students were unhard, then that was a deal they would take every ti! Agiel looked out into Core City, and her gaze hardened. She had been shocked when Jason told her that the New Order was planning to blow up this school, and she couldn’t help but wonder what they would hope to gain from sothing like that! Did they think killing children was the best way to further their cause!? That was so unreasonable. No, Agiel couldn’t think that these people were reasonable. They were terrorists, and terrorists didn’t need reasonable reasons for what they do!
Jason folded his hands across his chest and let out a calm sigh before he looked out into the city while speaking.
"I’m going to find all the bombers. Standby until I say so."
Jason’s eyes suddenly flashed to a dark blue as he activated his [Mana Sense], and he watched as the world bled into a backdrop of monochro black-and-white colors with various bright lights shining across the background that indicated the many superhumans in the city. Seeing so many lights at the sa ti made Jason wince slightly, but it was no big deal since he was already used to handling ntal strain, so he easily got rid of the discomfort before he sent out his Legion. Jason still rembered the blast that had occurred at the SMD building earlier, and he had seen the mana signature of the man who died back then. The man hadn’t died because of his own explosive gift, but rather, he had activated a gift that soone else had placed on him. This gift placed a rune on soone’s body that was connected to them ntally, and all it would take was a single thought before you could activate the rune and ignite all the mana in your body. But what the New Order guild didn’t know was that the exact thod they used for their attack was what would cause their downfall. Because Jason had already morized what the mana signature within that rune looked like during the previous suicide bombing at the SMD building, and now all Jason had to do was trace all the runes in Core City!
’You should try filtering away all other mana signatures. If you rember what the rune signature is like, you can set other signatures to zero and focus on only the signatures you want.’
Jason blinked when he heard a voice echo in his head, and he noticed that it was Esdat again. Jason could only wonder how this bastard kept escaping from Ragnar! But even though Jason was annoyed by Esdat’s presence, he couldn’t help but consider Esdat’s advice, and Jason narrowed his eyes as he slowly began to focus on the mana signature he had morized.
Esdat could feel the flow of Jason’s mana, and he looked on in awe as Jason slowly began to get the hang of this new technique. This was a technique that Esdat had developed himself, and it took him nearly two weeks to be able to properly filter through various mana signatures! Esdat had only told Jason to try it because he knew how difficult it was, and Esdat wanted to test Jason and see if he was really a prodigy or if he was just lucky, but from what Esdat could see now, it was obvious that Jason was sothing else entirely!
’He didn’t even need
to instruct him on how to move his mana. All he needed was a tip, and he recreated a technique that took
weeks. This might be the best person to pass on all my techniques to.’
Esdat thought this while scratching his chin, but Jason couldn’t hear what Esdat was thinking, and he was instead focused on what was in front of him. Jason had filtered through all the other mana signatures, and now the students and teachers were all part of the black backdrop, and the only things that stood out to Jason like beacons of light in the night sky were the red highlights of the New Order runes.
’Kill them all.’
Once Jason gave this order, his Phantoms flashed through the shadows! There were currently one hundred suicide bombers at various locations around Core City, and Jason sent out only ten Phantoms since he knew that this was all he would need. Jason watched as the Phantoms quietly and thodically appeared from behind each of the New Order mbers and quickly slit their throats before flashing back into the shadows and going after the next one! The red lights of the New Order assassins slowly began to die out as the Phantoms killed each one, and Jason could feel a proud smile appearing on his face when he watched this. Jason had only been using the Phantoms for searching and protecting people all this ti, so he sotis forgot that they were expert assassins as well. They were moving so well that the New Order mbers didn’t even have a split second to react before they were dead!
Jason thought about using [Remote Resurrection] to take control of the people he just killed, but he decided that it wasn’t worth it. Most of the New Order mbers were below D Rank, and so of them were barely stronger than regular humans. Jason had passed the point where he needed quantity over quality to win a fight. Right now, Jason was more than powerful enough, and he had enough powerful subordinates to handle any monster up to the level of even Titan Rank I, and if Jason ever faced off against an opponent that was too powerful for him to handle, then it would be useless to send D Ranks after them. It’ll be like sending hundreds of ants to fight against a raging fire. From now on, Jason was going to go for quality over quantity. He would take any beast or superhuman that was from B Rank in strength or above, and he would only resurrect a subordinate if he believed that their gift or power was useful enough for his Legion.
"Jason, is everything going to plan?"
Agiel spoke up from beside Jason, and Jason nodded to her before he said.
"I already killed fifty of them. Their locations are..."
Agiel was shocked when Jason told her that fifty of the New Order mbers were already dead, but once Jason began to list out their locations, she had to quickly get rid of her shock as she began to instruct the Enforcers on how to move and gather the bodies! Things continued like this for a while, with Jason giving Agiel instructions on where she had to send the agents. Every ti the agents reached where Jason had pointed out, they would find one or two dead people waiting for them there, and Agiel got a few ssages from the Enforcers asking if there wasn’t any way to incapacitate the terrorists without killing them. The sight of so many slit necks and so much blood pooling around the agents was just too much for even the battle-hardened Enforcers to endure. But Agiel didn’t even bother to pass the ssages to Jason, and she told those who were complaining to get back to fucking work. Agiel knew that there was no way the Enforcers would’ve been able to stop all one hundred bombers on their own without Jason’s help, so they had no right to question how Jason went about taking care of the attackers!
And in truth, after everything that Agiel had seen in Australia while fighting against the New Order, she wasn’t really feeling any moral obligations towards these fucking terrorists. If Agiel had a single button that she could press to kill all of them at once, then she would press it without a second thought!
