Chapter 357: The Aftermath

All across Radagan, a similar scene was unfolding on the battlefields. Large adult dragons were appearing from the horizon and landing in the towns where Radagan soldiers were fighting against the Legion, and the mont the dragons appeared, the soldiers and dragons would lose all their will to fight and drop their weapons. The Generals and other mbers of the Royal army were not different since they were also under the control of the priestess, so they had no choice but to stand down!

The superhumans who had co with Jason watched the scenes unfolding with relief coursing through their bodies. Many of them had realized that the battle was starting to get very one-sided, and they were being overwheld by the sheer number of Radagan soldiers attacking them! Luthor imdiately sat down on the roof of a house as he watched the Radagan soldiers go to their knees, and he lay back while releasing a tired breath. There was a massive cut across his right shoulder that had almost taken his arm off, and he was dirty and tired, but at least he was alive.

Rufus had been in the shape of a dragon for most of the fight, but once he saw the adult dragons, he quickly transford back to a human and landed on the ground before imdiately collapsing. He was completely out of mana, and he knew that even a single mont of fighting would have been impossible for him! The other superhumans from the SMD, like Luud Francis, were even worse off. Francis had a cut across the right side of his face from a soldier’s sword, and he only managed to survive this long due to Katarina’s blessing. The mont he saw the adult dragons stopping the others, he fell to his knees and passed out on the spot! Jason’s Legion had acted as shields and protected the weaker superhumans against stronger opponents, so even though there were so superhumans who lost body parts, none of them had died in the battle. But in the end, the superhumans had won the day, and that was all that truly mattered!

....

The next few hours after the Battle of Radagan was the most exciting thing that Jason had ever seen in any world. The people of Radagan, who had all been running away from the battle, returned after seeing that the Sovereign had surrendered to the Priestess, and there was joy and celebrations across the entire world from the news! The people who were put to sleep by Azrael’s Rune were brought back to consciousness, and although they were shocked at first, it didn’t take long before they joined in on the celebration as happiness took over their confusion!

The Generals and soldiers who had been instruntal to the Sovereign’s rise were arrested and put in jail, and Jason watched from his place on top of a tall building as his subordinates helped the civilians in gathering the dead bodies and slabs of rocks from broken houses that were littering the street. Jason had sent Ragnar and so of his stronger subordinates back into his Alternate Dinsion so that they could rest, but since Gina and the other superhumans were far away, it would take a while before they could reach the main city. Jason had almost been dragged by so old won to go and freshen up, but Jason wanted to wait for Gina and the others to get here safely first.

The cleanup continued for a long ti, and it wasn’t long before the sun began to set in the sky. Jason could see that a lot of bonfires were being set up around the city to light it up, and once the dragon lit the flas, it made the entire town look like a sea of black littered with golden lanterns at various intervals. Jason couldn’t help but smile when he saw many of the Radagan citizens dancing and rejoicing together around the fires, and he felt a strange surge of pride in his heart when he realised that their happiness was because of what Jason and his team had done. Jason’s subordinates were still working on clearing out the town, but the town was already clean enough for the citizens to move without being crushed by any of the debris. Jason told his subordinates to take the dead bodies of the soldiers into his Alternate Dinsion. He planned to resurrect them later since he was sure that resurrecting them here would only ruin the celebrations. Besides, Jason was going to use both their souls and their bodies as his personal army, so taking them was necessary.

Jason’s mind suddenly traveled towards Riyala, and Jason couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to her. Jason already knew that sothing had changed Riyala’s powers in the Ashevalley forest; her mana felt completely different from what Jason rembered, and she was also a lot stronger than before. But what Jason didn’t understand was how this power had also affected her emotions. Jason didn’t notice how Riyala’s emotions had changed at first, but it beca obvious when Jason brought Riyala’s father to her earlier. Jason had sent the spidermonkeys to find the previous king and release him from jail, and Jason thought that Riyala would be ecstatic to see her father. But rather than being happy, Jason was surprised when he only saw a small smile on Riyala’s face when she saw the man. Riyala had been standing in one of the waiting rooms of the castle with many people surrounding her and asking for blessings, and she put her hand out to her father calmly and summoned him to her. Her father was dirty and lanky from the long months in jail with barely any food, but he still found the strength to walk over and go down to his knees before gently kissing Riyala’s hand in respect.

"Bless , priestess."

Riyala’s father said this reverently, and Riyala gently touched his shoulder and prayed for his blessing. This was the strangest interaction that Jason had ever seen between a reunited father and daughter! Riyala had once thought her father was dead, and Jason rembered how hurt she was by his death, so he couldn’t understand why their reunion was so cold and detached! It was almost like Riyala didn’t even see the man as her father anymore! Jason just didn’t understand it and Jason didn’t have ti to ask Riyala any questions since they were both being surrounded by various dragonborn wanting to thank them and pray to Riyala. And even though Jason didn’t understand what happened to Riyala, it was obvious that the other dragonborn understood perfectly, and they had all co to accept that Riyala was sothing greater than before. It was almost like Riyala had beco their religious leader!

That had been a few minutes ago, and Jason managed to leave the castle through the shadows and arrive on top of this building to watch the cleanup. There were a few dragonborn walking around, and they would always look up and wave at him happily whenever they passed by. Jason smiled at so of them and waved at a few children, and he watched as a few dragonborn carried large logs of wood towards the palace. Jason could only guess they were going to set up an even bigger bonfire there. The entire night was going to be used for celebration, and Jason decided it wouldn’t be so bad to stay behind and enjoy it.

’Hey, babe, I can feel your mana close by. What’s going on?’

Jason suddenly sent a ssage to Gina, and Gina quickly spoke.

’I’m being dragged around by so old won. They keep asking

to follow them.’

Jason laughed when he heard the distress in Gina’s voice and he suddenly vanished from the rooftop and appeared beside her. The old won who had been pulling Gina were shocked when they saw him, but they suddenly smiled as they continued to push both of them together. Gina looked at Jason curiously, and Jason just shook his head.

’Don’t worry, babe. We’re really dirty from the fights, so they just want us to freshen up.’

Gina smiled and took Jason’s hand before following his lead as they entered the large bathroom together. A few minutes later, Jason walked out of a room in the palace whilst wearing a long black tunic over his body. The tunic was embroidered with gold thread, and Jason could tell that it was really expensive! Jason and the other male superhumans had been ushered into the n’s bathroom, and they were left to freshen up there, but Gina and all the other girls had been dragged away by the old won so they could help them clean up and put on proper attire. Jason told Gina to call out to him when she was done with freshening up, and he said farewell to the other male superhumans as he decided to explore the castle alone.
