Chapter 217: Chapter 213: Sha Kong
A glint flashed in Hu Qi’s eyes.
Recalling what the Young Man had said, this Underground City had to be Desolate Hill City.
On this journey, a total of seven Refining God Venerables, including himself, had entered the Earth Core.
As for the strongest of them, Xuanqing, he had to remain behind to guard the surface and did not enter the Inner Earth World with them.
After all, as long as Xuanqing was present, no Food Master would dare to invade the surface.
If Xuanqing entered the Earth Core and the Black Blood Species launched a sneak attack on the Surface World, it would be a colossal joke.
Furthermore, only Refining God Venerables entered the Earth Core this ti; not a single Secret Martial Artist at the Qi Dao Grandmaster level was included.
While there is strength in numbers, a Refining God Venerable who had broken through the Divine Barrier could not be judged by common standards.
Refining God Venerables possessed a Power of the Heart incomparable to that of a Qi Dao Grandmaster. This Power of the Heart could be used to scan and probe, ignoring almost any physical obstruction.
They were essentially walking, 360-degree, all-seeing radars. Simply adding more Secret Martial Artists couldn’t compare.
Besides, sending too many people would easily attract the attention of the Black Blood Species.
This would create unnecessary trouble for the search for the Spirit Realm Sea Eye.
Therefore, sending only the Refining God Venerables into the Earth Core was the perfect arrangent.
However, to search for the Spirit Realm Sea Eye more effectively and comprehensively, they had all entered the Earth Core separately through different Earth Core Passages.
Although Hu Qi was also eager to find the Spirit Realm Sea Eye, he chose not to beco a human radar, asuring the land with his feet.
Instead, he was prepared to use a different thod.
His goal this ti was not only to find the Spirit Realm Sea Eye, but also to harvest enough Modification Points.
...
「A dozen or so minutes later.」
At the very center of Desolate Hill City stood the most magnificent and sprawling complex of buildings—the residence of those whom the locals considered to be revered Celestial Gods.
Inside the vast main hall, if any of the Black Blood Species or citizens of Desolate Hill City had been present, they would have seen their Lord City Lord—the one who Commanded all of Desolate Hill City, with power comparable to a Qi Dao Grandmaster—sprawled on the floor like a dead dog.
The sole of a black shoe was brutally stomped on his face, the imnse force nearly shattering his facial bones.
Half of his head was embedded in the stone slabs below.
"Ah... Damn you! If you dare kill , Lord Sha Kong will not let you go!"
Feeling the trendous force of the foot on his head, the Middle Rank Black Blood Species struggled continuously, his thick arms pressing against the ground as he tried to push himself up.
But it was as if the foot on his face wasn’t a foot at all, but an imnse mountain; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t move it in the slightest.
This situation made the Middle Rank Black Blood Species, whose na was Qiusa, feel utterly humiliated.
He had just been minding his own business in his residence.
But soone had co barging in—how could he possibly tolerate that?
And yet, in a single exchange, he was defeated and nearly stomped to death.
As a Middle Rank Black Blood Species, his judgnt was naturally sharp.
He had imdiately recognized that the other party lacked the aura of a Black Blood Species.
There was only one explanation for this: the man was a Secret Martial Artist from the Surface World, one of the humans who had achieved power through Cultivation.
On Earth Star, only such beings could stand against them.
But he had never imagined that his opponent would be a Refining God Venerable.
This was a terrifying existence capable of contending with a Lord Food Master!
After their brief clash, he understood that it would be no more difficult for this person to kill him than to crush an ant.
Therefore, his only option was to bring up the Lord Food Master who backed him, hoping it would make his opponent hesitate and not kill him outright.
"Relax, I won’t kill you!"
Hu Qi smiled gently. As the words left his lips, he ford his five fingers into a blade and swung it lightly!
PSH! Blood splattered as the head of the Middle Rank Black Blood Species at his feet was lopped off.
The Gorging Realm flashed with light, and the headless corpse vanished without a trace, devoured and digested by Hu Qi.
Qiusa, now just a disembodied head, had a deathly pale face. As a Black Blood Species, his Life Force was exceptionally strong.
Thus, even with his body and head separated, he could still sense where his body was.
And for that very reason, he felt even greater terror.
His body, it seed, had been crushed and devoured by so kind of giant maw.
Although he, as a Middle Rank Black Blood Species, had eaten his fair share of humans.
He had devoured tens of thousands, at the very least.
But knowing that he himself might be eaten still filled him with fear and dread.
It was sothing no intelligent being could accept.
"No! My lord... please don’t eat ! I can be very useful! I’ll do anything you ask! I’m begging you, spare my life! As long as you don’t eat , we can negotiate anything..."
In that mont, all his previous bravado vanished, replaced by a pleading, humble tone as he begged for his life.
As for his dignity as a Middle Rank Black Blood Species, could that save his skin?
Those who don’t fear death are either fools or have unshakeable faith.
The Black Blood Species, cold-blooded creatures whose power ca entirely from their Bloodline, possessed neither of those qualities.
Moreover, amidst his terror, his mind was exceptionally clear.
He realized his opponent must have so other use for him; otherwise, that last strike would have split his skull open.
And it turned out his guess was correct.
"Relax," Hu Qi said coolly. "I told you I wouldn’t kill you."
But in the next instant, from the Black Blood Species’s point of view, a bizarre red light glinted in Hu Qi’s eyes.
Then, his consciousness plunged into Chaos.
Not long after, an aura shot into the sky.
Whether they were in Desolate Hill City or outside of it,
all the Black Blood Species who sensed this aura rushed toward its source.
An hour later, having gotten all the information he wanted, Hu Qi wanted to avoid alerting the Food Master by killing this Middle Rank Black Blood Species. He dealt with it in his usual manner, using the Twisted Light to turn the creature into a bracelet that he wore on his wrist.
Then, he left Desolate Hill City imdiately.
As for the Black Blood Species that had gathered, they had all vanished without a trace, transford into a string of Modification Points on Hu Qi’s status panel.
...
The Cave of Cyan Bones was located in the very center of the Cangmo Realm.
This place was a true land of death. Everywhere you looked, white, unidentified bones lay half-buried in the wind-blown sand.
Any creature that approached would be reduced to a pile of white bones, and the closer one got, the more bones there were.
Against the gloomy sky, a figure wreathed in black mist shot across the firmant, moving as fast as a teor.
Soon, the figure landed at the mouth of an enormous cave.
Looking down, he saw the cave was imnse. Its entrance was pitch-black, like a giant maw that could devour anything. A scorching hot wind blew out from it periodically, accompanied by a series of dull, thunderous roars from within.
The figure shrouded in black mist paused for a mont before stepping inside.
Upon entering the cave, his feet crunched on the loose sand and gravel, making a rustling sound with every step.
In the dim space, all kinds of weathered white bones were scattered everywhere.
As he ventured deeper, faint phosphorescent glimrs flickered intermittently like will-o’-the-wisps, and the surrounding air grew hotter.
Soon, a faint yellow light appeared ahead.
As he continued, the light grew more intense.
The figure passed through the tunnel and arrived in a huge, oval-shaped chamber.
The first thing he saw was the source of the light: a behemoth the size of a small mountain.
It was a two-headed, earth-yellow Giant Dragon that resembled a massive lizard.
Its body was as large as a small mountain, and it was currently lying on the ground.
Each of its scales was the size of a human palm, shimring with a dim, earthy-yellow light. They resembled ancient armor and gave off a sense of indestructibility.
The edges of the scales were slightly raised, like sharp blades.
The earthy-yellow light was emanating from the scales of this dragon-like creature.
As for the dull roars and scorching breath from before, they were caused by the creature exhaling through its mouths and nostrils.
The mont the figure set foot in the chamber, the two heads of the sleeping, earth-yellow Giant Dragon snapped their eyes open.
Its two massive heads rose high, their eyes like two balls of burning red fla, glinting with a vicious light.
"Qiusa, you are not in your Desolate Hill City. What brings you here?"
A dull voice, as loud as the beating of war drums, echoed through the chamber.
"Lord Sha Kong, your subordinate has an urgent matter to report!" As the figure spoke, he seed to take another step forward.
"Hm?"
Suddenly!
A black shadow tore through the air. A tail as thick as a small mountain whipped out with a whistling sound.
The air seed to rip apart at that mont, letting out a sharp, explosive crack.
BOOM! The ground where the mist-shrouded figure had been standing suddenly collapsed and trembled. Sand and stone flew into the air, and the cave walls shook violently.
"Lord Sha Kong, what are you doing?"
At that mont, the figure was seen landing like a light leaf upon a rocky outcrop on the side of the cave.
