Looking at the children, each of them were carrying a bunch of cicadas that chirped and wanted to fly away. Unfortunately, many of their wings have been ripped off, so none of them were able to take flight.
Lin Lan smiled and said, “a piece of gluten, in exchange for so many cicadas. All this at is more delicious than pork, good job guys!”
Those who weren’t busy with their laundry had watched Dawang catch the cicadas. They saw him holding up a long pole with thin thorns tied to the end and a good amount of gluten wrapped around the thorns. He stood quietly under a poplar tree and remained motionless with the exception of his eyes being the only thing tracking the movents of the insects. Once he spotted one, he hunted the cicada down.
After Dawang got stuck, he put down the pole. Erwang imdiately ran over and took down the cicadas and removed the impurities on the gluten. After checking it, if it wasn’t enough, he would add a bit more to make sure it was sticky.
When Dawang was catching cicadas, his movents were small yet sharp, so few cicadas would, if ever, be alard. Even if it flew up in an attempt to avoid him, it wouldn’t fly far and only end up sowhere near the original branch.
After several won watched him for a while, Dawang had 5 or 6 cicadas stuck to the pole.
What sort of inhumane speed was this?!
Besides, they found that the little one was even more remarkable. He was holding a harmonica and playing it gently. Was it possible that you cicadas were truly attracted to the tune? Perhaps the child was truly no longer considered a re stupid kid.
No one really knew if the cicadas could be hypnotised by the tunes, but Xiaowang continued blowing the harmonica with a fierce determination. Since his Third Brother said that cicadas would go crazy after a month, the youngest thought that it would be better for the insects to contribute to the growth of their stomachs.
Xiaowang felt that the cicadas were so pitiful. They only had one month to live and could not eat at. All they could do was withstand the breeze and drink a bunch of tree sap, so he wanted to play the harmonica for them!

After washing the clothes and returning ho, Lin Lan lit a fire for the children to roast the catch.
For unmatured cicadas (as in, the larvae), they were best enjoyed fried. The middle was full of protein and the belly was full of juices— a great balance between nutritious and delicious. On the other hand, matured cicadas with empty stomachs and dryer skins. Those weren’t that satisfying to snack on, but the at in the middle was still pretty alright. For those, they tasted better when roasted than fried. The belly would be crispy and fragrant and it’d still be sort of aty in the middle, so it tasted quite delightful as well.
Dawang caught a lot of them, so he brought out a small tub of it. Even with that amount, Sanwang remained unsatisfied and asked his Eldest Brother to catch even more.
At this ti, Han Qinghua and Han Jinyu were approaching the house as they accompanied soone from the outside. Seeing Sanwang eating roasted cicadas in the yard, they laughed and said, “Why didn’t you ask to catch the cicadas? There would be so much more if I caught them with your Eldest Brother.”
When Lin Lan heard Han Qinghua’s voice, she got up and went out. Upon seeing that it was Liu Haozhe and the Han family’s youngest siblings who were coming over, she smiled and said, “Liu Haozhe is here? You’re just in ti for so cicadas.”
