Sanwang stuck out his tongue, “I just wanted you guys to sleep, that’s why I didn’t ask for your help and decided to do this myself.”
At this ti, Lin Lan ca in while waving the cattail leaf fan and looking at them curiously, “Black Pudding, what are you doing?”
Sanwang, “Mom, I think it’s a pity that there are so many cicadas that they will die naturally soon. So I was thinking about making so gluten to catch them and eat them.”
An energetic boy like Sanwang never wanted to take a nap. He felt that it was a waste of ti, so the child was either going to swim and catch so fish or do sothing else.
Last night, he heard from Lin Lan that bugs would typically die faster than humans and felt that it was such a waste. After thinking about it all morning, he thought it would be better to catch and eat them. He also heard Han Qingsong say that gluten could be used to stick onto them, which was why he got excited and decided to make his own gluten.
Making gluten was simple. Just wash so fine flour with water to remove the starch and leave the gluten. If he placed it on the leaves of a tree and exposed it to the scorching sun, it would beco very sticky in just half a day. Then, wrap it around the tip of a slender pole and it could be used to catch the wings of the cicadas.
Usually, it was the older brother who did the sticking with the pole while the younger siblings held thicker needles, threading the caught cicadas on the needles one by one and making a cicada skewer.
Making gluten was not difficult, but for so people, it was a bit of an extra task. And at this ti, fine flour was such a precious commodity that no other family would be willing to let their kids play with it. It was just Lin Lan who doted on her children and let them experint however they liked.
Lin Lan almost laughed to her death when she saw Sanwang trying to make gluten. He really was a dense little thing. He probably thought that if there was too much water, he would add more flour; and if there was too much flour, he would add more water. Doing that back and forth, he ended up needing to use the largest pot they had.
She said, “Co, let teach you.”
Erwang still felt sorry for the misfortune caused by Sanwang.
Lin Lan smiled and said, “It’s okay, we can have so pancakes tonight if there’s excess,” She looked at Sanwang’s hands again, “Have you washed your hands?”
Sanwang chuckled nervously, “Of course…I haven’t washed it, hahaha,” He was afraid that Lin Lan would hit him, so he quickly went to wash it, “I washed them now, I really did this ti.”
Lin Lan helped Sanwang grab so flour and washed it to separate the starch. Looking at the situation, she was inspired again as she thought about making so cold rice noodles for the kids soti later.
The gluten quickly beca sticky under the sun and Sanwang excitedly pulled his Second Brother along to trap so cicadas.
There was a small forest by their house, so they went over to experint.
After all, Sanwang was small and his hands were not strong enough, so it was still rather difficult for him to catch the cicadas on his own. Erwang could do it, but he felt that keeping his neck raised and staring at the tiny cicadas in the leaves made him feel dizzy and tired. Also, it was rather ti-consuming, so he felt that it was not worth the gain.
Dawang was the most powerful amongst them, so he held his breath and gripped the pole firmly without shaking. As long as he spotted the correct position and jerked the pole up quickly and accurately, the gluten would imdiately stick to the cicada’s wings.
Sanwang was so excited that he started jumping up and down, “Eldest Brother, you are so aweso!”
They were busy working when soone ca over and smiled at them, “Oh, you’re sticking cicadas. Let tell you, I’m the best cicada trapper there is. Here, let help you.”
Hearing that voice, Dawang slowly turned around and looked at the source, “Fourth Uncle, you’ve returned?”
