Sanwang buried his head in the pillow in embarrassnt. It was really embarrassing now, but at that ti he had really, really…thought so. Back then, he felt like the sky was going to topple on him because of how real it felt.
Children had too little experience in the world. They might feel that everything was over and the sky was going to fall because of a trivial thing— a word from others, a piece of pastry, a toy, an exam or a howork assignnt.
Lin Lan asked again, “Do you still think that you were picked up?”
Sanwang glanced over around him and saw that his Eldest Brother was glaring at him with a cold expression. Erwang and Maisui were giving faces that practically said, why do we have such a stupid little brother? And Xiaowang started giggling a bit.
He loudly said, “No! I was wrong. I am your son, I wasn’t picked up and Xiaowang was not a child exchanged for pancakes.”
Xiaowang smiled sweetly and hugged Lin Lan’s thigh, “Mother, I wasn’t exchanged for pancakes! I am your son.”
Lin Lan touched his head and said with a smile, “What sort of pancakes could be changed for such good children? I’d like a few more.”
Han Qingyun, who had been talking to Han Qingsong on the other side, turned around and took Xiaowang away. He picked the child up and said exaggeratedly, “I’ll take three big pancakes in exchange.”
Everybody laughed.
Han Qingsong glanced at him as Han Qingyun touched his nose and put the little one back on the kang.
Xiaowang went over to Sanwang and said happily, “Little Third Brother wasn’t picked up and I wasn’t exchanged. We are biological children. I am so happy, so happy, that I feel like my heart is blooming.”
After saying that, he touched his heart and said, “It’s blooming.”
His childish words made people happy yet sad at the sa ti, so they couldn’t help but kiss him.
Xiaowang was really happy. After all, he relied on Lin Lan more than others and was even more afraid that his parents would not want him any longer. He firmly believed that he was exchanged for pancakes, but he did not want to leave ho and would do anything to stay at ho. Now, he was truly realising that it was all false! He was their actual son!
