After sohow completing the month-long Level 9 Exam in Code, the highly mobile fortress city, I return to the Imperial Capital of Zebrudia.

I am filled with a sense of liberation. Although I ended up not doing much, I passed the Level 9 exam, which was a life-threatening exam. I did withdraw from the Level 9 Exam (although I probably wouldn’t have made it even if I didn’t withdraw), but I had no intention of becoming Level 9 in the first place, and since I had failed once, it would be a while before I am forced to take the exam a second ti.

On top of that, for so reason, Ohii-sama even made a smartphone. With Liz and the others now back, it is no wonder that my steps have beco lighter.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah~, I wanted to go to Code toooooooooooooooooo~!” (Liz)

“Kuh…… So they weren’t in the World Tree?! So the strongest swordsn weren’t in the World Tree!!” (Luke)

“………… There is no way there are any swordsn in the World Tree.” (Eliza)

Eliza quietly chides in as Liz and Luke are as noisy as ever.

Although I have only heard a little about it, it seems that Luke and the others had also been rampaging in Yggdra. I can tell from Eliza’s expression that she is even more exhausted than usual. Eliza, who is quick on her feet, is exhausted by Liz and the others’ energy.

Luke looks frustrated, but――Sytry, who is in a relatively good mood after receiving souvenirs from Code, an Advanced Physical Civilization, speaks to him in a soothing manner.

“Now, now, Luke. There is no way there are swordsn in Code. It is an Advanced Physical Civilization city after all…… I would say they are more likely to use long-range weapons.” (Sytry)

“Umu, umu.” (Anthem)

I guess there was one in Code. I didn’t have anything to do with criminals, so I don’t know what happened to that skilled female swordswoman――Kenbi, but I guess Kaiser and Saya made quick work of her. As expected of Level 8 Hunters, they are so reliable.

As I *un, un* nod, Lucia, who has been silent up until now, sighs and says.

“…… However, I don’t think it is right to leave your Party behind to take the Level 9 Exam, Leader.” (Lucia)

Lucia looks at with a stare that wouldn’t lose against a Level 8 Hunter.

Indeed, I have never taken a level-up exam by myself before. It is only natural since I am so weak that I might even lose against any newbie Hunter. Even this ti, I would never have gone to Code without Kaiser and Saya.

However, the reason I left Lucia and the others in the first place was because I could see that I would get caught up in their great adventure there if I had stayed in Yggdra. Even I wasn’t going to just stay there knowing that I would be dragged into their adventure.

In the end, I got caught up in so crazy story, but all I wanted was to take a little break, you know.

“Weeeell…… I thought I was going to take a little break……” (Cry)

“A little break……” (Lucia)

“S-So as a break, you dropped Code………… Master~. A-As expected of Master~…… You’re unfathomable…………” (Tino)

Tino, who has been following behind everyone else, instantly stiffens.

Unfathomable…… By the way, the system’s overall rating gave 4 points. I would love to compare it with everyone else’s overall ratings.

Well, anyway, I am glad everyone seems to be doing well. As I am smiling half-heartedly, Liz *bonbon* pats Tino on the head and boasts.

“Right, Cry-chan. Listen, listen! Y’know we…… Climbed the World Tree all the way to the top! Ti made it to the top too, you know? Isn’t that amazing!? It made think that all that hard training was worth it!” (Liz)

“Heeh………… You go, girl…………” (Cry)

“No way…………………… You took down a floating city, during your break, compared to you, Master~, I’m nothing, but a piece of trash……” (Tino)

Says Tino with tears in her eyes. I don’t think that is the case…… The World Tree is so huge that I don’t even know how high it is, so I don’t know how anyone can climb such a tree. I am really glad I didn’t stay there.

And even though the reason why Code crashed is left unclear, why do you insist that it was my fault? That, too, is a complete mystery to .

Logically speaking, there would be no way to take down such a big island.

“………… I think I will take it easy for a while, yup…… Well, I haven’t done much in Code either. Hahaha………… S-See, I want to hear everyone’s stories too…” (Cry)

Seeing everyone’s gazes as if they wanted to say sothing, I instinctively scratch my cheek. Please forgive , not doing anything is the best I can do.

………… No, on second thought, I did sothing unnecessary and dropped Code. But it never officially happened, so…

I have told Ohii-sama not to tell anyone, so I am sure it will be fine.

I *un, un* nod in agreent and try to convince myself, when at that mont I hear a hushed voice.

“Hh………… Cry! I’m surprised you ca back. I’m sorry to bother you so soon after you’ve returned, but there’s sothing I need to discuss. Would you like to co with to the branch manager’s office?” (?)

“Ga…… Gark………… San?” (Cry)

Standing there is the head of the Imperial Capital branch of the Explorer Association. The man who gave the opportunity to take the Level 9 exam, Gark Welter.

However, this is not the usual Gark-san. First of all, he looks pale. There are dark circles under his eyes, and his face is clearly showing signs of fatigue.

I have never seen him like this. Although he is retired, he is still a forr Level 7 Hunter. He should still have a fair amount of Mana Material, and even if his fighting abilities aren’t at their peak, it should still be top-notch.

It is not like he had been to war or anything, so it is not every day that you would see a forr Level 7 Hunter like Gark to be so exhausted.

Now, even Liz and the others cannot say anything.

Gark-san starts walking while holding his head. Seeing Gark-san’s unusual appearance, I prepare myself and follow him.
