Capítulo 501: Chapter 260: The First Second of Eternity

Lynn Seras was born with a profound understanding of various herbs and an affinity for Holy Magic. Under the ticulous guidance of his father, Nell, he quickly revealed his extraordinary talent.

In this lifeti, Lynn exhibited a gentle disposition, compassionate towards all, firmly believing in the benevolence and redemption espoused by the Goddess’s teachings.

Vistaria Town, located on the borders of the Duchy of Eugene, had barren land, often plagued by demons erging from the nearby Woma Forest, leaving its people in hardship and lacking dical resources.

When Lynn grew up, he took over his father’s position. He brewed potions using herbs collected from Woma Forest, healing countless injuries and ailnts of the townsfolk; he would use his glowing palms, employing Holy Magic to heal the deep wounds of hunters torn by demon claws.

Even during a terrifying plague, Lynn disregarded his own safety, praying, casting spells, and treating tirelessly day and night, ultimately curbing the spread of the illness and saving tens of thousands of lives.

His fa quickly spread, with people calling him “Saint Seras.” Not only those from Vistaria, but from nearby towns and even places far away, ca seeking his treatnt or blessing.

Lynn never charged any fees, accepting only food or daily necessities as donations.

The town gradually prospered because of him, smiles returning to people’s faces.

However, in the glow of prominence, shadows began to grow.

The old priest of the town, feeling envious and uneasy about his growing reputation, along with the bishop at the provincial capital’s Church, took notice of this “unorthodox” rural priest—one who hadn’t undergone strict theological training, whose Divine Arts seed different from orthodox scriptures but worked miracles nonetheless.

Thus, so rumors began spreading quietly: so said his power didn’t co from the Goddess but was in fact a result of a pact with demons from the forest; others said those he healed had their souls defiled…

Lynn didn’t concern himself with these rumors, believing firmly in his own innocence, continuing tirelessly day and night to help everyone who needed him.

The turning point ca on a rainy night. The commander of a trial knight team arrived from the capital with a squad of elite knights, claiming to have received reports that Lynn was suspected of using Dark Magic and colluding with the Demon Clan, hence being a heretic hiding among humans.

Panic quickly spread. Those once aided by Lynn, so stood up to defend him, but more chose silence or even turned against him out of fear and provocation.

“Would the illnesses he cured relapse?”

“His magic does look a bit strange indeed…”

“Otherwise, how could he be so powerful? There’s definitely sothing wrong!”

Suspicion and ignorance grew madly like toxic weeds.

The trial was hastily conducted in the town square, the so-called evidence full of loopholes: a few ancient herbal notes misinterpreted, so ruffians who pointed fingers at him under duress, and the trial knight leader’s firm claim of “divine sensing”—allegedly feeling a “dark aura” around Lynn.

Lynn was bound to the trial stake, attempting to explain, but his voice was drowned out by the increasingly loud shouts of “Burn him!” “Heretic!” from the surrounding crowd.

He saw those he had once saved struggling to survive now looking at him with fear and hatred; the children he had once helped being tightly held by their mothers, preventing any glance in his direction.

A despair colder than death gradually soaked into his soul.

No miracle, no redemption from the Goddess.

The trial panel unanimously sentenced him to death by fire.

On the day of execution, the sky was gloomy.

Lynn was stripped of his robes, wearing only a thin garnt, tightly bound to a cross in the square’s center, with piles of resin-soaked firewood beneath.

The trial knight leader raised a torch high, loudly announcing Lynn’s “cris,” finally throwing the torch onto the pyre.

Flas surged instantly, the scorching waves of heat rushing towards him.

The agony devoured his skin and flesh… The surrounding crowd cheered and prayed as if celebrating the demise of a devil.

Thick smoke choked his lungs, making it impossible to breathe, his vision beginning to blur.

At the mont before his consciousness was entirely burned away, through the leaping flas, he seed to glimpse the Destiny Threads hanging high in the heavens, flashing coldly and mockingly.

He suddenly realized, this wasn’t punishnt for his sins, but rather the darkness within human nature that could never truly be illuminated, and the cruel joke of fate’s unpredictability.

The flas eventually devoured him, leaving only ashes and the lingering stench of charred flesh in the air.

Vistaria Town quickly resud its forr dead silence, as if there had never been a Saint nad Lynn Seras.

After countless reincarnations, this awakening was accompanied by the sound of a feather quill scratching parchnt, along with the cacophony of applause from outside the window.

Lynn sat at a luxurious desk, surrounded by stacks of towering books and manuscripts. He was Lynn Wester, the continent’s most renowned novelist, poet, and philosopher.

Born into a declining yet culturally rich noble family, he exhibited a remarkable literary talent from an early age.

At twenty, he published “Starry Sky Fables,” captivating the entire continent with its magnificent imagination and profound philosophy, hailed as a classic by countless aristocrats and scholars.

The stories he crafted were grand and magnificent, celebrating freedom, love, and courage, mocking rigid dogma and hypocritical authorities.

He himself was unparalleled in beauty and grace, eloquent in speech, admired by powerful Arcane Masters, revered queens, and ordinary citizens alike.
