Su Ge was left speechless by a single remark from Liu Fengi.
Soon enough, she innocently said, "Xiao Si’s wife, what are you talking about? It’s not that I don’t want soone to send you a ssage—it’s all Grandpa’s idea. You know how much Grandpa loves Xiao Si; he wouldn’t want to bother him with his own issues."
Liu Fengi found a chair in the living room and sat down, "By the way, Xiao Si’s wife, have you eaten? We just finished eating here at Chu Garden. If you haven’t eaten, I can ask the kitchen to make sothing fresh for you."
"No need, I’ve already eaten."
Su Ge also casually found a chair to sit down.
"As for Grandpa’s illness, it’s nothing serious. As one gets older, it’s natural for their health to decline day by day. The doctor also said that he just needs more rest. You don’t need to worry," said Liu Fengi, as Su Ge just sat down.
"Really?" Su Ge looked contemplatively at Liu Fengi.
"Can the doctor’s words be false? The doctor treating Grandpa was personally invited by Yun Wei—it’s the best doctor in Rong City. Older people are not like young people, who can recover from illness quickly with so dicine. Older people inevitably need to endure for thirty or fifty days."
"I understand," responded Su Ge, without saying much more.
"Is Xiao Si coming?" Liu Fengi suddenly asked, then continued, "Actually, what I just said was a joke. Grandpa is in Chu Garden with so many people looking after him. You and Xiao Si really don’t need to worry. That’s why Grandpa didn’t let anyone inform Xiao Si. If Xiao Si is really busy with official duties, he doesn’t need to co."
"Whether he cos or not is not up to ."
At this point, Su Ge casually poured herself so water, holding it in her hand, her eyes showing a trace of depth.
"Oh, I see. I thought you would have Xiao Si completely under your control by now, since everyone outside knows how much Xiao Si adores you," Liu Fengi chuckled behind her hand.
"Big sister, you must be joking. How can one trust any of those rumors from outside?" Su Ge calmly took a sip of water.
"That’s true too. There has always been talk outside that Xiao Si’s wife is fierce and unreasonable, but looking at you, you’re gentle, graceful, serene, and generous, not at all like what the rumors say."
Su Ge’s hand froze slightly around the glass.
Gentle, graceful, serene, and generous?
Was Liu Fengi complinting her?
Liu Fengi, of all people, complinting her?
With a faint smile, Su Ge set down her water glass, "Big sister seems to lack insight. Gentle, graceful, serene, and generous – I am not that kind of person."
Later, she would let people at Chu Garden know exactly how gentle, graceful, serene, and generous she was.
"You really are a straightforward person," Liu Fengi also poured herself a glass of water at this point, awkwardly sipping it.
Neither spoke for a while, until Liu Fengi stood up, "There are so matters to attend to in the side house, Xiao Si’s wife. I will not keep you company here anymore."
"Alright, big sister, go and attend to your matters."
Su Ge did not say much.
Liu Fengi nodded and walked out, but after a few steps, she turned back to look at Su Ge, "Grandpa needs a lot of rest. Please rember, do not disturb him."
"Don’t worry, big sister, we understand."
It seed like Liu Fengi was reassured and then left.
Su Ge fixed her gaze on Liu Fengi’s departing figure.
Did she truly believe Grandpa’s health was not a concern, or did she want her to believe that Grandpa’s health was not a concern?
