Huo Zhengting couldn’t help but glance at his two sons.
Both looked innocent.
There were no unjust cases under their watch.
Su Ge was indeed a bit drunk.
At the ti of speaking, her mind was still relatively clear.
Soon after she lay down, the effects of the alcohol surged, and she completely fell asleep.
She slept for over two hours before waking up.
When she woke up, she was in the Huo Family’s guest room.
The room was empty—upon putting on her shoes and going out, she found Huo Zhengting and Mrs. Huo sitting on the sofa outside.
"Xiao Ge, you’re awake."
Upon seeing her, Mrs. Huo got up and ca over to her, then imdiately instructed the servants to prepare sobering tea.
"Mrs. Huo," Su Ge rubbed her head, "I’m sorry, did I behave improperly after drinking? I don’t even rember what I did. I didn’t make a fool of myself, did I?"
"No, no, co sit, have so sobering tea first."
Mrs. Huo pulled Su Ge to sit down.
Fortunately, she hadn’t drunk much; Su Ge’s head was almost not hurting by now, and after drinking a cup of tea, she felt quite refreshed, "Thank you for today, it’s getting late, I should head back."
Su Ge put down her tea cup and stood up, intending to leave sowhat hastily.
"Which case is it, the one concerning your friend’s parents?"
Just as she stood up, Huo Zhengting’s voice sounded.
"What?" Su Ge turned around sowhat startled.
"You girl, have you forgotten what you said yourself?" Huo Zhengting glared at her, "With the way you blabber nonsense when drunk, you better drink less in the future."
"I rarely drink."
Su Ge sat down sowhat embarrassed.
Mrs. Huo’s gentle voice sounded, "Xiao Ge, you didn’t make a scene after you got drunk today, but you ntioned a friend. You said your friend was in jail with her parents, and that their case was hopeless. Xiao Ge, what case is it? What are her parents’ nas?"
"I... I said that?"
Su Ge’s expression changed instantly.
Mrs. Huo looked at her, nodding affirmatively.
Su Ge froze in place for several seconds, then suddenly lowered her head and sighed.
"What’s wrong?"
Mrs. Huo looked at her puzzledly.
"That case happened several years ago, there’s no point in bringing it up now. Moreover, it was handled by a very powerful lawyer, practically impossible to overturn."
"What kind of lawyer has the power to twist right and wrong?" Huo Zhengting imdiately beca displeased upon hearing this.
As a judicial administrator, overseeing lawyers was one of their responsibilities.
No matter how capable, a lawyer must abide by the law.
"Shen Zhiyue, Mr. Huo, you’ve probably heard of this lawyer before? She’s well-known in the legal circle," Su Ge said with a slight wariness.
"Shen Zhiyue?" Huo Zhengting thought for a mont, "Seems like a newcor who entered the field in recent years, hasn’t handled many cases but has a high success rate. Her father, isn’t he the mayor?"
"Yes, that’s her!" Su Ge confird, then furrowed her brows, "She’s the legendary undefeated gold-dal lawyer. The case of my friend’s parents was handled solely by her."
"Undefeated? There’s still such a person nowadays," Huo Zhengting was sowhat disdainful, "I’ll have soone thoroughly investigate this girl. Talk about the details of your friend’s parents’ case, what year it was. Now that I’m better, I’ll personally look into it for you. I want to see who dares to twist right and wrong under my watch."
