The right opportunity...
Shen Zhiyue’s eyes suddenly sparkled once again.
Her birthday was approaching, wasn’t it?
A cold sneer crossed the bottom of her eyes; Shen Zhiyue pressed harder on the gas pedal, the Bentley speeding towards the busy downtown.
When Shen Zhiyue arrived at the appointed place, Jin Ning’er was already there.
Adorned in a similarly red dress, she sat fiddling with her bright red nails out of sheer boredom. Seeing Shen Zhiyue approach, she didn’t look up but instead spoke in a mocking tone, "I’ve always heard that lawyers are the most punctual. It seems, however, that so lawyers don’t have much professional integrity."
"The consultation I’m providing Miss Jin today is free of charge, so professional integrity isn’t necessary." Shen Zhiyue sat down across from Jin Ning’er, her curt reply instantly causing Jin Ning’er’s face to turn color.
Jin Ning’er stopped playing with her nails and looked at Shen Zhiyue arrogantly, "If I rember correctly, it was Lawyer Shen who took the initiative to arrange this eting, right?"
After saying that, she looked Shen Zhiyue up and down again, "Lawyers are said to be the most precise professionals. Looking at Lawyer Shen’s outfit, it’s hard to see even a bit of a lawyer’s deanor. To the uninford, they might wonder what you do for a living."
She just exuded the vibe of being worldly.
"It takes one to know one." Shen Zhiyue kept a straight face and simply responded with four words, then casually ticked off a few items on the nu before handing it to a nearby server.
"You..." Jin Ning’er was so angry that she was montarily lost for words, biting her teeth before speaking, "Shen Zhiyue, what is it that you summoned for today?"
She was clearly the one who was late, she just complained a bit, yet why was this person not letting her off on any sentence?
Taking advantage of being a lawyer to argue with her here.
Not even considering what she herself was.
It was Jin Ning’er doing her the favor by agreeing to the eting.
Simply a case of offering face and getting none in return.
"It’s nothing urgent. Miss Jin should be aware that I am good friends with Shaoyang, right? Ah, I almost forgot, Miss Jin probably agreed to et with today because of Shaoyang too." Shen Zhiyue’s smiling eyes finally t Jin Ning’er’s gaze directly, "The real reason I wanted to et Miss Jin was entirely out of goodwill. My birthday is just a few days away and the Shen Family will host a banquet, which Shaoyang is sure to attend. Considering the current relationship between Miss Jin and Shaoyang, it would only be appropriate to invite Miss Jin as well. Besides, since Miss Jin and I have never formally t, I thought it’d be better to et in person first before inviting you to the party. That’s the main reason I invited Miss Jin out today."
"What? You’re inviting to your birthday banquet?" Jin Ning’er’s face was full of incredulity, "Who do you think you are? Expecting , Jin Ning’er, to condescend to attend your family’s function? You really are..."
"If Miss Jin doesn’t wish to attend, then never mind." Shen Zhiyue cut her off before Jin Ning’er could finish speaking, "It’s just out of respect for the many years of friendship with Shaoyang. Now that Shaoyang has finally found soone he could let go of his obsessions for, I was hoping that Miss Jin could attend together with him. But it is rely my own selfish wish. If Miss Jin isn’t willing to lower herself, I can understand that."
Jin Ning’er was utterly confused, "Shen Zhiyue, what exactly are you trying to say? Why are your words even more enigmatic than mine? What kind of relationship do you have with Shaoyang? I’ve never heard him ntion you, and what obsessions does he have? You speak as if uttering tongue twisters. Do all lawyers talk like this?"
