Chapter 957: Chapter 18 Lord Master Entrusts the Orphan

Yan Yu had a dream.

In the dream, he saw himself standing in the center of the great hall’s podium, where the Grand Secretary was personally bestowing a dal upon him. The dal was a pure gold insignia with a diater of one ter, inscribed with a line:

Spouse of a Top-Grade Golden Core Cultivator.

Beneath the podium stood a row of female Golden Core Cultivators, all young and beautiful, looking at him with eyes that seed almost ready to devour him alive.

Yan Yu, our beloved husband, we adore you!

Seeing this scene, Yan Yu was far from feeling proud; instead, he only felt his legs weaken and his lower back numb, wishing to imdiately escape through Sword Control.

As soon as the dal ceremony was announced over, the Grand Secretary swiftly left the scene, escorted by the close-protection Cultivators using a Transmission Treasure.

Instantly, a swarm of female Cultivators from beneath the stage surged forward. Those who could control swords did so, while others cast spells, all fighting violently over the rights to spend the night with Yan Yu, each seeming eager to vanquish their competitors!

Even with Yan Yu’s unrivaled Divine Skill, he couldn’t cope with such chaos, overwheld by thousands of hands against his fists. As he felt utterly baffled, suddenly countless sword lights pierced through from outside, captivating the spirits of all the female cultivators present in an instant.

Suddenly, a startled scream rang out from the crowd: “Gosh! Run! It’s the Grinding Plate Sisterhood!”

What’s lowly is known as ‘pounding’ and what is high level is called ‘squeezing’. Above that, transforming gold into iron is known as ‘grinding’. The Grinding Plate Sisterhood consists of ten top-tier female cultivators skilled in this art.

There they appeared, now atop the grand hall, so standing, so sitting, so crouching, so lying down; regardless of their posture, each exuded charm. Capable of turning heroes into dried bones and laughing at chauvinists who dare not to act manly!

“You re vulgarities dare to covet Yan Yu?” one of them mocked scornfully.

“Leave now, and you won’t be pursued further,” another indifferently spoke.

“Life is at stake, let’s not joke, think carefully,” another gently advised.

“If you do not have the sense to refrain, we shall annihilate you all, as if crushing insects!” one threatened with her words.

The female cultivators present fell silent montarily; the vast majority recognized the situation and dispersed swiftly. The stubborn few that remained were ruthlessly suppressed by the Grinding Plate Sisterhood, their Divine Souls shattered.

The scene turned into a blood-soaked hell, yet Yan Yu remained composed, turning his back with his hands tied, calmly speaking,

“Do you really think the re na ‘Grinding Plate’ will make give in or sit idly by waiting for death?”

The crowd flirtatiously giggled, coquettishly saying:

“Otherwise, dear husband, do you dare to try us?”

Yan Yu burst out laughing loudly, shouting:

“Bring it on!”

If I were to face those thousands of cultivators, even a body of steel would not last. What’s there to fear from rely ten? Zhao Zilong was courageous enough to fight alone and erged unscathed; watch do better and still have a drink afterwards, mocking all of you for overestimating yourselves like frail willows bending in the breeze!

In his dream, Yan Yu had fiercely enjoyed a great battle, reveling in the exhilaration!

What Grinding Plate Sisterhood? They’re feeble! Might as well call it ‘Tiny Cupcakes’, which is not only apt but also pretty cute.

Suddenly, the ringing of his cellphone on the bedside table woke Yan Yu from his slumber.

“Old Yan!” ca Liu Longtao’s voice over the phone, “I’ve rescheduled to cross the tribulation tomorrow. Would you act as my protector?”

“Nuts,” Yan Yu rubbed his sleepy eyes, saying, “Wasn’t your tribulation supposed to be next week?”

“I don’t need that many Flying Swords,” Liu Longtao calmly stated, “By reducing the demand by one fifth, I can advance the tribulation scheduling.”

“You’re just worried about Zhao Yuanzhen beating you to it,” Yan Yu rcilessly exposed his real thoughts, “Otherwise you’ll end up third instead of even second among the Golden Core True n.”

“If that’s what you think, then so be it,” Liu Longtao responded noncommittally, “I feel bad that a Golden Core True Man like you has to stay in the country. I’ll get my tribulation done sooner, form my core, and free you to strut around the world.”

Lord Master misunderstood. The reason I’m staying at Wudang Mountain is not because I’m waiting for him to undergo tribulation and core formation, but because there are so many female Cultivators offering their help… Forget it, with Lord Master’s mindset, he probably wouldn’t understand the selflessness behind my actions and would likely joke about being driven by carnal cravings.

“I haven’t been following international news lately; is there any trouble brewing outside?” Yan Yu asked.

“Not at all,” replied Liu Longtao, “Chongying’s being obedient, nothing’s happening in the West… Do you think that’s possible?”

“No way, they must be biding their ti, ready to stir trouble,” Yan Yu retorted.

“Exactly,” Liu Longtao laughed heartily, “Once I form my core, let them plot all they want; against the sheer scope of power, all their sches are but futile efforts!”

“Okay,” said Yan Yu, “Liang Yi Micro Dust Sword, when are you coming to get it? I’m in my room.”

“I’m on my way,” said Liu Longtao, “I’ll familiarize myself with Sword Control tonight to avoid last-minute panicking tomorrow.”

After a while, there was a knock on the door.

Yan Yu went to open the door. Lord Master elegantly stepped in, suddenly asking,

“Old Yan, why do you appear wobbly, pale, and as if you’ve just recovered from a severe illness?”

“It’s the enormous psychological stress,” said Yan Yu casually, “Thinking about how you all haven’t yet ford your cores and how any Transcendant with a golden core can kill you with a touch, my mind’s not at peace, affecting my appetite and sleep, even my dreams are filled with thoughts of safeguarding you, just like a security uncle watching over a kindergarten.”

“Oh, so that’s why,” Liu Longtao responded hypocritically, “It’s our slow progress in cultivation that’s been troubling you, Master Yan. However, I heard from Li Zhaojiang that the dicine his sister used for balancing yin and yang has been taken away. Old Yan, do you have any clue?”
