Capítulo 1161: Chapter 42: Approaching Doomsday (Part 2)

The elders’ attitudes were ambiguous, which was understandable. After all, the Sect Leader was the Sun Sword Master, and even though he was only at the Golden Core Realm, wielding the power of the Divine Sword made him difficult to deal with.

Have you not seen those powerful figures of the Demon Path? Each one sends expendable pawns to die, while they themselves stay within the grand formation without stepping out. They fear that when they attack Shushan, the Sun Sword Master will go berserk, using the Divine Sword to kill those at the forefront.

Of course, the elders shared similar concerns. Therefore, they waited for a more critical situation, ideally until the sect was on the verge of collapse and about to be breached, to persuade the elders to gamble everything in a desperate attempt.

If we don’t seize the Sun True Dullness Sword, we’ll all be dood once the formation is broken!

As the defense of the sect beca increasingly precarious, the elders’ stance unsurprisingly softened further.

The casualty rate of the patrol Sword Immortals had already exceeded half, and if this continued, there would be no one left to defend. Elder Tian Yue finally couldn’t sit still and found Yan Yu to ask:

“About what you ntioned earlier… what are they saying about it?”

“Which one?” Yan Yu feigned ignorance.

“The plan to have the Sect Leader go into battle.” Elder Tian Yue said with a dark expression, “Now that the sect is clearly about to fall, it makes sense for him to fight as the Sun Sword Master.”

“Indeed.” Yan Yu sighed and said, “But the Sect Leader doesn’t want to mobilize, and I am of little importance, how can I persistently and forcibly recomnd it? That’s asking for death, isn’t it?”

“Ha!” Elder Tian Yue was speechless, weren’t you previously talking about plotting to seize the Sun True Dullness Sword?

However, this matter couldn’t be stated straight out, so he could only hint:

“If you can’t persuade him, perhaps so other elders could.”

“Sigh.” Yan Yu deliberately sighed again, “After all, the Sect Leader is the Sun Sword Master, even though he is only at the Golden Core Realm, he is not soone that one or two Nascent Soul elders can persuade. Unless the four elders gather together, perhaps then there might be enough strength to make him change his mind.”

“So what’s their stance?” Elder Tian Yue asked again.

“Elder Lu still has so concerns,” Yan Yu did not lie about this, “If you can give him so confidence, perhaps he would change his mind.”

This is actually very dangerous. Because if Elder Lu is a mole for the Sect Leader, persuading him would just lead to him imdiately reporting back to the Sect Leader, and that would an instant doom.

But now, with the sect’s defense already on the verge of collapse, estimated to be completely breached in a few days, and the Demon Path figures swarming in, wouldn’t the end still be death?

Elder Tian Yue gritted his teeth and said:

“Fine, I’ll go talk to him!”

The two went to find Elder Lu Gan, and saw him worrying over the depleted sect reserves.

Cultivators need Spiritual dicine for healing, and this area faced the largest shortfall, almost entirely depleted; next was the intake of Flying Swords, which, relatively speaking, posed less pressure, given that many Sword Immortals had fallen, leaving behind possessions that could be utilized…

Tian Yue called Lu Gan aside, frankly explained the situation, and saw Lu Gan reveal a weird expression implying “so you’re also in on this.”

“So disciples had approached before,” he said candidly, “Brother Tian, I won’t beat around the bush; even if the four of us combined, we might not be the Sun Sword Master’s match. Although the Sect Leader is unclear on this, when it cos to real conflict, don’t expect him to hold back.”

“I know.” Elder Tian Yue sighed, “But isn’t there no way out already? The sect’s defense line is about to be breached, and he calmly remains aloof… I believe he’s decided to abandon the sect, escape with the Divine Sword, leaving us as the bait.”

“Sigh.” Elder Lu Gan shook his head and said no more.

“Say sothing, do you agree or not!” Elder Tian Yue also grew impatient, “If you’re going to report , you can do it right now! I’d rather die under the Divine Sword than be captured and tortured by those Demon Cult bastards!”

“Alright!” Elder Lu Gan finally spoke, “Count in!”

“Great, I wasn’t wrong about you!” Elder Tian Yue rejoiced and pulled Yan Yu over, saying, “Go over the plan, and we’ll help fine-tune it.”

“Hmph.” He sneered in contempt, “Let’s see how we can persuade the Sect Leader to change his mind!”

Seeing that his expression didn’t seem fake, Yan Yu estimated that the true consciousness of the Sun True Dullness Sword was not present, and proceeded to elaborate the plan to the two elders.

————————————

anwhile, Lin Ning’s life simulator had already advanced to its third reincarnation.

Childhood sweethearts, two who grew up together, geographical proximity, all Buffs almost maxed out.

Yet she found no motivation to confess first.

You want food the most when hungry, after being full you have no appetite. Now Lin Ning was closest to Yan Yu, able to chat overnight every day, the closest of friends, yet lacking the strong drive to “capture him right away.”

Besides, when do girls ever confess to boys first! Consider my feelings a little, will you!

By their senior year, Lin Ning began preparing for postgraduate exams, aiming for the sa school Yan Yu attended.

Though Yan Yu planned to work after graduation, it didn’t stop Lin Ning from pursuing further education.

She even planned her future schedule: attend classes when there are classes, do experints during lab ti, and when able to rest, cook als with an electric cooker in her rented apartnt, and wait for Yan Yu near his workplace.

Of course, they couldn’t live together, as they weren’t even a couple yet. But if Yan Yu insisted on renting near the school… then cooking at his place should be perfectly normal, right?

We are childhood sweethearts after all!

Lin Ning, having planned her future life thoroughly, intended to send it to Yan Yu to get his feedback—given that, as a childhood friend, Yan Yu usually wouldn’t reject her opinions, but always went along and pampered her.

Before she could send the ssage, a new ssage popped up in the chat window:

“Ning, lend five thousand.”

“Why?” Lin Ning imdiately grew suspicious, “Wait, are you really Yan Yu? Send a voice ssage.”

The ssage ca, and as she listened, it felt like falling into an icy cavern:

“My girlfriend is pregnant, need money for an abortion.”

Lin Ning: ………

“Since when do you have a girlfriend?” Her fingers trembled as she typed.

“Today.”

“Why didn’t you tell ?” Lin Ning wanted to interrogate him, but the ssage, after being typed, wouldn’t send.

I… in what capacity, do I question him?

Yet Yan Yu did not plan to hide anything from her and soon sent more ssages explaining the situation:

Turns out there was a girl athlete at school who had been enthusiastically pursuing him, even going so far as to join the club he was in. During a club outing, when everyone was completely drunk, she escorted him to a hotel room, and one thing led to another…

Today he found out she was pregnant.

Lin Ning remained silent for a very long ti across the screen until she finally ssaged:

“You, don’t just believe what anyone says and accept responsibility foolishly. First, get checked for any diseases, and then do a paternity test. The money will be transferred to you.”

“Oh, you’re always right!” Yan Yu replied quickly, “I’ll return the money to you next month, now heading to the hospital!”

Lin Ning stared at her phone’s screen, quietly sitting for a long ti.

In the following days, she kept her phone with her at all tis, watching it during als, placing it by her pillow during sleep, waiting for Yan Yu’s ssages.

The bad news eventually arrived.

No diseases, and it’s his child. The girl refused to abort, stating if Yan Yu didn’t acknowledge it, she would raise the child alone.

“What do you plan to do?” Lin Ning asked.

Her heart was full of bitterness, but Yan Yu seed oblivious to her emotions, rely replying:

“I don’t know. If she won’t abort, I can’t decide for her. I guess this can’t be hidden, I’ll have to tell my parents, and pay you back later.”

Lin Ning didn’t look any further and threw her phone forcefully on the ground.

She understood the character of Yan Yu’s parents, and knew Yan Yu’s character well enough to understand that he would never leave the girl to be a single mom—his morals wouldn’t allow it.

But…

What about ?
