Chapter 866: Chapter 867: The Only Woman I Trust

She thought he would throw all these things out, but surprisingly, he didn’t...

So strange!

Exhausted from a long day, she slowly fell asleep while lost in her thoughts.

Yet, He Jun couldn’t sleep with his eyes closed, feeling inexplicably excited inside.

He wasn’t sure why, but the only thing he knew was that he was a bit happy Lin Xiaoting was back.

He fell asleep late and even dread of Lin Xiaoting...

――

Morning.

Lin Xiaoting got up early, prepared breakfast, fed He En, and let him play on the carpet in the living room.

She went to the bathroom, opened the washing machine, and took the clothes into the basket.

She forgot to take out the clothes last night, luckily they didn’t get ruined.

She hung the clothes to dry on the balcony, and as she walked to the living room, she ran into He Jun.

He had just gotten up, his hair a ss, with dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept well.

"Breakfast is on the table, freshen up and eat quickly."

"Okay."

"I’m leaving now."

"Where are you going?" He Jun frowned, stopping in his tracks and looking at her. Didn’t she promise to help take care of the kid last night? Why the change now?

"Handing out flyers. I’ll co back tonight to be with He En. You can manage during the day, right?"

"I can’t manage!" He Jun said weakly.

He found that he couldn’t be hard on Lin Xiaoting; being tough would only backfire!

Before, if he was an to her, she would be even aner, and neither of them would give in.

But he was puzzled as to why he kept accommodating her like this?!

Even with her being so fierce with him all the ti, why did he keep her by his side all this ti...

"I can’t take He En with

to hand out flyers." Lin Xiaoting bit her lip, troubled; she believed He Jun truly couldn’t manage the child.

He was simply an unreliable dad!

"Then don’t go. I’ll give you double the money; just focus on taking care of He En."

"But... I barely found that job, and it pays well!" Lin Xiaoting was in a dilemma, he didn’t need her to always help with the child.

It’s just a few days of looking after the kid, and once there’s a nanny, she won’t be needed.

Then, she’d have to find another job, one that doesn’t pay as well and, despite being good in a costu, offers a lot of free ti.

He Jun felt a surge of anger but managed to hold it back.

Lin Xiaoting is being too demanding!

No, he can’t lose his temper; he must keep her around to take care of the child.

Aside from her, he has no won he trusts.

This realization is very troubling!

There are many won around him, yet the only one he trusts is her.

Thinking it over, she’s the only trustworthy woman...

He felt a sense of doom.

Softening his tone, he said, "If you’re willing, you could continue working as my assistant; I haven’t found a new one."

After she left, he never thought about finding soone else for the assistant role.

The housework was done by hired hourly workers, and als were taken outside, which were extrely unpalatable!

He realized he had grown accustod to Lin Xiaoting’s cooking, finding other people’s food unpleasant!

The more He Jun thought, the more he felt he was truly dood...

Wasn’t sure what was happening to him...

Lin Xiaoting raised her eyes to look at him; didn’t he say he would find a better assistant when he kicked her out?

"Don’t worry, I won’t dock your pay again!" He Jun added when he saw her remain silent.

Rembering how he always deducted her salary, maybe that’s why she didn’t agree.

"Keep your word. If you randomly dock my pay again, I won’t work!" Lin Xiaoting said; since he was offering her a way out, she’d take it.

She didn’t want to leave him, and now he was offering her an escape route, she’d agree, after all, it’s an opportunity!

"I won’t!" He Jun replied.
