"We’re fine now, don’t overthink it." Huo Shaohua comforted her, knowing she was worried.
"Don’t ever do that again! Little Sweetheart is no longer a baby; she might move around and distract you while driving." Tian Xingyun was still worried, but thankfully they arrived safely.
"I don’t do things I’m not confident about." Huo Shaohua responded confidently with a smile.
"..." Tian Xingyun rolled her eyes speechlessly; he’s too confident.
"Your hand is not convenient, I’ll carry Little Sweetheart myself."
"Okay." Tian Xingyun nodded.
Seeing both her parents there, Little Sweetheart behaved and didn’t make a fuss anymore.
Two hours later, it was already past eleven when Tian Xingyun finished her IV treatnt and left the hospital room.
Little Sweetheart was already asleep. Huo Shaohua carried his daughter in front of him, using one hand to support Tian Xingyun as they walked slowly, while the other hand held their belongings.
"Sorry for causing you trouble." Tian Xingyun said guiltily.
"Don’t be so foolish again, if soone bullies you, bully them back twice as hard." Huo Shaohua suddenly said, aware that Tian Xingyun didn’t pursue Song Yi today because of past incidents.
She no longer owes anything to him or Song Yi; she herself has endured enough grievances.
She was the most wronged in that incident.
"Weren’t you quite foolish yourself, standing there and letting Mrs. Song hit you?" Tian Xingyun looked at his side face with distress; his face was scratched by that hateful Mrs. Song.
"Who’s the bigger fool?" Huo Shaohua asked with a painful smile, she was the bigger fool.
"You are the bigger fool; you shouldn’t have protected
today." Tian Xingyun said with a smile, thinking that if he hadn’t protected her, the matter would have been easier to resolve.
Now she feared the situation had beco more serious, not knowing what Song Yi would do.
She had an uneasy premonition, wondering if she was overthinking.
"Not protect you and let you continue to be bullied?" Huo Shaohua asked coldly. Given the ordeal he had gone through, he couldn’t just let her be.
If he didn’t protect her, her life would be at risk.
"I’m not a fool, I won’t always be bullied." Tian Xingyun replied while biting her lower lip.
"Can you walk? Let
carry you; otherwise, when will we get out of the hospital?" Huo Shaohua changed the topic, looking at her foot with concern.
"Are you joking? How can you carry
while carrying Little Sweetheart!" Tian Xingyun scolded angrily. He was being too unrealistic!
"I’m serious."
"No way!" Tian Xingyun rejected firmly; she wasn’t as daring as he was.
"..." Huo Shaohua helplessly supported her as they walked slowly.
It was twelve-thirty when they arrived ho. He placed Little Sweetheart in her crib.
Tian Xingyun lay on the bed to rest, seeing Huo Shaohua still in the room.
She spoke, "Drive safely when you go back."
Huo Shaohua raised his eyebrows and walked to the bedside, took off his jacket and shoes, and sat down directly on the bed.
"I’m not planning to go back."
"Then sleep in the guest room; there’s another room." Tian Xingyun frowned. After difficult consideration, she decided he should sleep in the guest room.
It didn’t seem appropriate to ask him to leave; he had been exhausted all day, and it was late, making driving unsafe.
"I’m sleeping here." Huo Shaohua spoke in a domineering tone, lifting the quilt and lying in the empty space next to her.
"No!" Tian Xingyun imdiately objected. They were already divorced; how could they sleep together again?
"I won’t do anything to you, I’m very tired and just want to rest." Huo Shaohua explained, pulling the quilt over her, turning off the light, and closing his eyes to rest.
"..." Tian Xingyun turned her head to look at the man lying next to her and sighed helplessly, just this once!
That night, he slept well because she and their daughter were by his side.
In the morning.
Little Sweetheart’s crying woke up everyone instantly. Huo Shaohua threw off the quilt, got out of bed, and hurried to the crib.
