Chapter 1338: Chapter 76: Rebuilding Ho (Part 4)

He heavily tossed the letter over the heads of the crowd: “Then listen to what your family has to say.”

The appearance of family letters completely shattered the psychological defenses of the garrison. Soldiers frantically scrambled for the letters scattered on the ground, even if they could only grab half a torn piece of paper, even if they were illiterate.

“Truly a clever tactic.” Major Felter walked up to the rebels’ negotiation envoy, silently nodding his head: “So, next…”

“Tonight, we will send soone into the fort.” The envoy answered bluntly: “Tomorrow, there will be a surrender ceremony.”

“Alright. Alright.” Major Felter nodded timidly: “Who will accept the surrender?”

The envoy smiled politely: “His Excellency holds you in high regard. He will personally receive your surrender… Please send a few people to open the gates.”

“Alright.” Major Felter replied.

The rebels’ negotiation envoy put away his smile, pressed his boots together, solemnly raised his hand in salute, and turned to leave.

“Um…” Major Felter rembered sothing, loudly asking: “I still don’t know your esteed na.”

“My na is Bart Xialing.” The envoy proudly replied: “The battle at Green Valley, initiated by the left wing of your forces, which defeated your troops, was led by .”

The next day, at noon.

With the “Newly Reclaid Land’s All Free People Congress” about to comnce, many of the willing participants had gradually arrived in Maplestone City.

Those “free people” who arrived early were invited to observe the ceremony.

They were led into the Siege Camp opposite Maple Fort, watching as the Red Rose flag atop Maple Fort slowly descended.

Afterward, the gates of Maple Fort opened, and the garrison lined up and erged, crossing the trench-riddled land, under the gaze of allied soldiers lining the path, abandoning their weapons, and walking empty-handed into the main entrance of the Siege Camp.

The leading officer respectfully presented his sword to Blood Wolf.

Blood Wolf accepted the sword, and the cannon salute followed.

The sea-blue flying winged Golden Lion flag rose slowly over Maple Fort.

The fires of war in the Newly Reclaid Land were thus completely extinguished.

On the night of Maple Fort’s surrender, returning ho from the banquet celebrating the Newly Reclaid Land’s return to peace, Winters was surprised to find Little Priskin already waiting in the living room.

“So soon there’s another ‘urgent matter’?” Winters joked.

Little Priskin looked mournful, as if he had so unspoken difficulty.

“Speak up.” Winters sat on the soft couch, smiling: “I’m in a good mood today, even if it’s not urgent, I won’t let Xial and Heinrich beat you up.”

Little Priskin lowered his head, asked aggrievedly: “Do you still rember… the elderly Mr. Mikesh Keremin who helped you find that stone mason apprentice?”

“How could I forget so quickly?” Winters was taken aback, then laughed: “He just helped with sothing, and now he’s here so soon to collect a favor?”

Little Priskin nodded very reluctantly.

Winters comfortably leaned against the back of the soft couch: “Tell , what does he want?”

Little Priskin shook his head quickly: “Your Excellency, Mikesh Keremin doesn’t want anything in return, he wants… he wants to ask you to et soone. According to him, that stone mason apprentice nad ser Jack wasn’t found by him but by this other person. So the real helper was the other person, he just did a favor along the way.”

Little Priskin scratched the back of his head: “But I think it’s all nonsense, just an excuse to have you et that person no matter what.”

“Your Excellency, et?” Little Priskin asked tentatively: “Or not et?”

“If I don’t et,” Winters laughed and asked, “then I’m afraid you can’t move around in front of Mikesh Keremin anymore, right?”

Little Priskin nodded embarrassingly.

“Then you bring that person here.” Winters rubbed his chin: “I also want to know who it is that makes the ‘big shots’ of Maplestone City go to such great lengths to help.”

Little Priskin shrunk his neck: “That person can’t co… you have to go et him yourself.”

Winters raised his eyebrows.

[Maplestone City]

[Mikesh Residence]

Accompanied by Father Kaman, Winters entered for the first ti the mansion of the top rchant in Maplestone City.

The elderly Mikesh, reportedly bedridden due to a severe illness, personally led his son and family won to greet them in the hall.

After a brief greeting, Mikesh led Winters deeper into the mansion.

In a secret room underground in the mansion, a moderately-sized, curly-haired, bright blue-eyed handso man, appearing in his early thirties, had been waiting for a long ti.

The man’s face lacked so color, but he was well-grood and ticulously dressed, clearly taking this eting very seriously.

Seeing Winters and Kaman enter the secret room, he imdiately approached proactively, extending his right hand.

“His Excellency Montane, I am Kai Morland.” The handso man introduced himself: “mber of the Great Council of the Republic of Palatu, representative of the Newly Reclaid Lands Province at Kingsfort.”

Before Winters could reply, the handso man bit his lip and earnestly requested:

“Major Ronald sent to find you—I need your protection.”
