Chapter 1333: Chapter 74: Rebuilding the Republic (2)_3

A tacit mutual understanding was achieved instantly, Winters instantly understood what Anna ant.

From Wolf Town to Maplestone City, Winters had lost a lot, but also established a lot. He not only built an army and a regi but also founded many industries that continuously generated wealth.

From the vast farms scattered throughout Iron Peak County, to the iron-slting blast furnaces burning day and night in Forging Village, to the bustling ironworks in the new city of Revodan, even including the wool business with the Red River Tribe…

All that Winters established with his own hands was so tightly bound to him that it beca indistinguishable from what was public or Winters Montagne’s own.

For instance, the ironworks in the new city of Revodan — apart from Winters himself, probably everyone else, especially the Steel Fortress immigrants sweating profusely inside the ironworks, would never doubt that the workshop was Winters Montagne’s private property.

So of the people surrounding Winters even firmly believed — what belonged to the Blood Wolf belonged to the public, and what belonged to the public belonged to the Blood Wolf.

They instinctively resisted any attempt to distinguish between “Winters’ belongings” and “public property,” and resolutely opposed any attempt to separate them.

So leaders might like this situation, or even purposely create such a situation, seeing it as an excellent opportunity for profit or even swallowing the elephant.

However, Winters viewed it as a hidden danger and chronic ailnt, and had expressed his worries to Anna more than once.

So hearing Anna’s words, Winters imdiately realized his lover’s underlying ssage: there was no better ti to resolve this long-standing issue.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Then let’s start with plows and nails.” Winters made up his mind, stood up, placed his hand on little Priskin’s shoulder, and said, “Show that you have more than just the ability to cause trouble, so I can entrust you with more significant responsibilities.”

Little Priskin was overjoyed, so excited that he didn’t know where to put his hands: “Does this an I can in the future…”

“Once a week.” Winters calmly replied.

Little Priskin instantly deflated.

“But if you have anything important, you can co see at any ti.” Winters took Anna’s hand, clearly suggesting to little Priskin, “If you encounter any difficulties, you can also ‘seek help’ from the lady.”

Upon hearing this, it was apparent that Anna was more surprised than little Priskin.

But little Priskin was very quick-witted and imdiately replied, “Understood.”

After speaking, he respectfully bowed deeply to Anna Navarre.

Anna hesitated for a mont, then finally smiled in relief, t Winters’ gaze, and nodded in return to little Priskin, “Then the future burden will rest on you, Mr. Priskin.”

Little Priskin no longer lingered, picked up his hat, and prepared to take his leave.

But as the farewell words were said and one foot was already out the threshold, it wasn’t until he saw the carriage parked far off outside the street post that little Priskin realized he had forgotten sothing.

In fact, the thing he almost forgot was actually the real reason for his visit today.

So little Priskin turned abruptly and ca back in, bumping into Lord Blood Wolf who was tidying up the cups and plates.

Winters awkwardly put down the silver tray, cleared his throat, and asked, “What did you forget?”

“It’s not a thing, it’s a person.” Little Priskin wished to gouge out his own eyes, explaining incoherently, “A person.”

Winters frowned, “You brought an outsider in?”

“No, no, no!” Little Priskin shook his head like a windmill, “I know the rules, Your Excellency. I left him outside with the guards.”

Winters felt relieved. To be honest, if it were still just him living there, he wouldn’t be afraid of anything. But now that Anna was also in Revodan, he had to be extra cautious.

Anna gently touched Winters’ hand, signaling him not to be so sensitive. Then she picked up the silver tray and left the living room to the two.

“Who is it?” Winters sat down heroically.

“I don’t know him either.” Little Priskin answered honestly, “This person was sent by several city councilors from Maplestone City. It reportedly took a lot of effort to find him. They said this person might be able to ‘solve’ the Maple Fort problem for you.”

“I just held a eting yesterday.” Winters sneered, “And today they sent this person to ? They seem to be very well-inford, don’t they?”

Little Priskin lowered his head, not daring to speak.

Winters propped up his legs, leaned back in his chair, and asked, “Tell , how is he going to ‘solve’ it?”

“That person wouldn’t tell , he insisted on saying it directly to you.” Little Priskin cautiously said, “He’s right outside now, with Whitehead Roger watching him. If you don’t want to see him, I can turn him away.”

“Go to the next apartnt and bring Father Kaman here.” Winters smiled, “Since the councilors from Maplestone City sent such a gift, how could I not see it?”

Following the order, little Priskin went to the next apartnt, found Father Kaman who was praying, and then dashed to the carriage parked on the street.

The pale-haired, slender Steel Fortress Roger was sitting in the carriage with another young man.

“Out so early today?” Roger was quite surprised.

“You’re in luck today, Roger.” Little Priskin ignored the unfamiliar young man and breathlessly urged Roger, “Quick, follow . While madam is ho, let’s hurry to see His Excellency.”

After catching his breath, little Priskin unconsciously smiled, adding, “But most importantly, go see madam.”

A mont later, in front of the Blood Wolf, the unfamiliar young man finally spoke.

“Your Excellency, my na is ser Jack, and I’m Master Feigni’s apprentice.” The unfamiliar young man introduced himself neither humbly nor arrogantly, then suddenly his eyes reddened, bowed deeply, and pleaded, “I am willing to help you reclaim Maple Fort, but I beg you to spare my ntor.”
