Chapter 1636: Chapter 1636: The 13-Ring Diviner

Although nearly all of the derivative powers from the “Power of the Earth” can purify the Mad Earth, the Power of the Earth itself is not a force specifically designed to purify the Mad Earth.

Shard’s Power of the Earth: mory of the Soil can purify the earth by extracting filthy mories from the Mad Earth, but essentially, it’s a power that feels the mory of the earth; Luviya’s Power of the Earth: Abundant Field can protect people within the field and suppress the power of the Mad Earth, but the Abundant Field is actually a power that promotes plant growth.

As for Shard’s “Power of the Earth: Healing Aura”, this power was born to purify polluted soil, so even if the story of the Chosen of the Earth cos to an end temporarily, and the earth is montarily appeased, this sorcery can still play a role.

In the mist, a hint of golden light appeared in Shard’s hand. Then, the golden light, like a seed, fell into the sandy ground.

Earthly yellow spiritual energy surged from below the surface like a spring eye, spreading in all directions, while Shard’s body and the Ring of Fate behind him grew brighter.

The mist remained unchanged, only occasionally producing tiny “crackling” sounds, indicating that Shard’s sorcery was indeed working.

After a long ti, the weary Shard finally lowered his hands. Then he looked at his feet where the sand emitted golden rays. A small golden tal Holy Grail rose to Shard’s face; Shard held it, and the ancient runes on the cup were “mist”.

This cup was much smaller than the “Youth” Holy Grail that Galina used as a token of affection, for even though Shard had nearly exhausted his own spirit, he still couldn’t purify the island.

The pollution of the land ca from this mist, and the mist’s power continuously polluted here. Unless these dense fogs were eradicated at the source, it was utterly impossible to completely purify the place.

His efforts only temporarily restored normalcy to the area around the pier; within a month or two, the region would absolutely not experience a “loss of direction,” but that’s all.

“This cup…”

He tried to inject his own spirit into the Holy Grail, which was the size of a wine glass, and indeed saw mist gushing from the cup.

He smiled and looked again at the dense fog enveloping the entire island:

“Since it couldn’t be purified here, can I…”

[For the sa type of pollution in the sa place, you can only obtain one Holy Grail of the Earth, and cannot continually acquire Holy Grails. But next ti you cast spells to purify here, you can use this Holy Grail to enhance spellcasting ability.]

“She” laughed and stopped Shard’s whimsical idea, so Shard stuffed the cup into his pocket, then took out the pink perfu vial and took a large sip, restoring his nearly depleted spirit to a normal level:

“The secrets of this island are even more than I imagined.”

He put the vial away and took out Lecia’s Crystal Shoes. The artistic shoes fell towards the sandy ground but, before touching the sand, vanished along with Shard.

For Shard, such long-distance spatial movent, being derived from Maze Lock, did not induce a weird sense of dizziness. He simply saw the scenery before him blur, like a painting splashed with water, and then those strange colors recombine to mimic the appearance of his ho.

“This ti, directly returned to the living room.”

“ow~”

The cat lying on the windowsill suddenly stood up and swiftly bolted towards Shard. Shard embraced it but did not see the orange-white cat suspiciously sniffing around, unsure what it was slling.

Luviya heard the sound and ca out from the study:

“I was just wondering why you ca back so late tonight.”

She walked forward, helped Shard remove his coat:

“You have a lot of moisture on you.”

Suddenly she paused, worry flashed in her eyes as she saw the rift on the back of his coat.

“I spent the entire afternoon and evening on the Central Island of Green Lake. You wouldn’t guess what I encountered there.”

While changing into ho clothes and washing his hands and face in the bathroom, Shard recounted tonight’s experiences. He said everything he could about Miss Apothecary’s part, while the contents concerning the Mirror Keeper and those two possible Osenfort descendants, the Eight Rings Sorcerers, beca his focal point.

“You actually encountered a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer?”

Luviya said worriedly as she checked Shard’s body, then talked about what he ntioned:

“Those two Eight Rings Sorcerers each blind in one eye are the ones the doctor ntioned on Saturday, right?”

“Most likely, and Miss Apothecary says they are descendants of Edwards. Even the Mirror Keeper couldn’t directly catch Miss Apothecary on that island, yet they managed to do so with cooperation; Edwards indeed holds a unique position concerning the island.”

He sat on the sofa holding Mia, took out the special coin “Sorrow of the Lute” purchased this morning in Mikaela Ironworks City, and handed one to Luviya:

“Help

divine a matter: the origin of the Edwards Family, who exactly is the Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer Klein Edwards? I feel this question is very important.”

Luviya nodded, but the coin she tossed showed no change after it fell.

Although there are so things that even Luviya cannot divine, those things are related to deities and The Chosen Ones. As formidable as a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer may be, he is still just a mortal.

“Klein Edwards is the Chosen of Space? Is he really still alive?”

Shard asked suspiciously. Luviya, who had opened her eyes, was playing with the coin. After pondering for a mont, she shook her head:

“It’s not that it’s impossible to divine; it’s just that one coin isn’t enough. Two coins will definitely suffice, but is it really worth it to spend two coins for this matter?”

“Of course, it’s worth it. But one shouldn’t be insufficient; a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer is also a mortal. What power does he have to resist divination?”

Shard handed over another coin, and this ti they lost all their special coins. The purple-eyed girl closed her eyes again, and this ti the two coins that flipped showed traces of rust at their peak and turned into ash as they fell.

Luviya suddenly opened her eyes, filled with disbelief.

“What is it? Did you discover that Klein Edwards is not dead? Did you find out he disguised himself as his descendant? Or, did you find out that the island is actually the corpse of Klein Edwards?”

“Shard, perhaps you’re even more suited than Dorothy to write novels.”

The purple-eyed girl was amused by him, but at least Shard’s conjecture diluted her recent shock:

“I’ve finally figured out why divining a non-Chosen Circle Sorcerer took two coins. Klein Edwards’ real na is Laplace Klein Howard.”

Shard blinked:

“Judging by your reaction, I assu I should now display a very surprised expression because of this na. Maybe this question is ridiculous: Who is this? Was there such a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer more than two hundred years ago?”

Luviya shook her head solemnly:

“It’s normal you haven’t heard of him; after all, he’s a traitor to the Prophet’s Society.”

“What?”

“About 260 years ago, roughly around 1593 in the Common Calendar of the Sixth Era, the Twelve-Ring Diviner Laplace Klein Howard defected from the society. This incident caused quite a stir within the society, even alarming the Church of the Five Gods. You know what it ans to be recognized as a High Ring Diviner.”

She seed sowhat anxious:

“This High Ring Diviner was once considered a potential successor to the society’s presidency. He was a true genius, genuinely able to comprehend Fate. After he awakened as a Circle Sorcerer, both eyes underwent tamorphosis to beco Demon Eyes of Nature, which could see the future more clearly… Although we’ve had many daunting opponents in the past, none have been so proficient in divination… I never expected he’d end up at Green Lake… He’s already a Thirteen-Ring? This is even more terrifying; a Thirteen-Ring Diviner, he…”

“Luviya!”

Shard’s voice interrupted the purple-eyed girl’s anxious muttering, and she then realized her palms were sweaty.

“We cannot yet be sure if he’s still alive, or if he’s connected to the Chosen of Space and to what extent. Don’t worry too much; the result of your divination only shows that the secret of Edwards is more trendous than we imagined.”

He thought for a mont:

“Luviya, investigate the diviner at the society, focusing on any writings, articles, or records of his divinations. Gather as much as you can. Furthermore, if a Thirteen-Ring Diviner is truly so formidable, he wouldn’t have remained in hiding all these years. There are more than just him in the Material World who are Thirteen Rings… Tomorrow, Wednesday, after I use the Ti Key, I’ll go find Iluna.”

Luviya looked at him:

“Inform the Church about this?”

“Yes, during such sensitive tis, once the Church learns of an unregistered Thirteen-Ring appearing in the Green Lake area, they will undoubtedly pay more attention to the region. Klein Edwards liked posing riddles to his descendants, didn’t he? Well, let the Church get involved and see if his arrangents remain effective.”

Moreover, this wouldn’t be betraying gan; she only wants to protect herself, having minimal interest in the family’s secrets.

“Additionally, I’ll make a trip to see Galina and have her inform Audrey Edwards in the Council about this matter, or even tell the entire Council. Since this Thirteen-Ring Diviner wants to hide, I’ll make sure everyone knows about him. Oh, and Miss Danester, we can’t neglect the Academy either.”

Luviya understood Shard’s intentions:

“You’re right. Before the Church and society react, I’ll discreetly gather as much of his information as possible.”

Shard nodded and turned to look out at the night. Compared to the increasingly restless Green Lake region, the night in the Northern Pearl, Tobesk City, remained peaceful and serene. He was unsure how long such tranquil nights would continue in the Material World, but all of the outlander’s efforts were for nights like this to welco the descent of the sun.

In such a long and deep night, it was uncertain whether the agents conducting secret operations at the alley would receive the intelligence, whether the Circle Sorcerers lurking in the shadows could capture their desired prey, or whether those secret, mysterious beings were plotting new sches.

The appearance of a Thirteen-Ring Diviner was indeed a troubleso issue. But for Shard, it was rely another challenge on his path forward.
