Chapter 1591: Chapter 1591: 7-Day Journey

"With identities confird, our story begins."

The deity smiled and spoke to everyone, while Shard softly said:

"I still don’t quite understand what we are supposed to do."

"Traveler under the Moon, please do not rush. The night is deep, let us narrate slowly. First, let

introduce the identities of the five travelers—the seasoned old horse has the fastest speed, but is aged and has poor stamina."

The Old Knight, Zaphir Yellen, knew this was referring to him. Although he couldn’t understand what this ant, both Shard and the Witch knew it indicated that the knight in the story could run the fastest, but couldn’t maintain it for long.

"The colorful parrot can evade attacks by flying, but its vibrant feathers easily beco a target for enemies."

The bard holding his card instinctively wanted to look up, but the "painful experience" just now reminded him not to. The bard, Dika Enriquez’s character, could fly, which was a convenient ability, but the downside was that once a battle started, it would be the first target of the enemies.

It seed everyone had at least one positive and one negative trait simultaneously.

"The noble unicorn is immune to evil powers, but its peculiar attraction will bring more trouble during your journey."

The Witch, Aleira Andriana, slightly curled her lips in a proud manner. Shard noticed her character was the only one among the animal characters possessing supernatural power. Her positive trait was very strong, but her negative trait seed to affect everyone else directly.

"As for the faithful hound, it has an excellent sense of sll to detect all kinds of odors, but its small stature ans it cannot fight."

The Maid, Clara, pursed her lips and looked down at the card she was holding. Her character was a typical support type, and "unable to fight" implied there would definitely be forced combat scenarios.

"Oh, and lastly, the Traveler under the Moon."

The deity finally ntioned Shard, turning his back to the bonfire behind him. After a pause, he said:

"The traveler is destined to be illuminated by Silvermoon, so your group’s vision will never completely vanish, and good things may happen on account of the night. But the peculiar traveler has noticeable differences from the other travelers, so others on your journey will notice this. "

Shard’s positive trait was likely related to his "Shadow of the Moon" status, while his negative trait was sowhat vague, and Shard also wasn’t sure of its consequences.

"Relax, for the story of this journey is about to begin. Gathered by accident, the travelers set off for a distant place together. You all agreed to begin and halt as one, so anyone who leaves the group during the journey will be deed dead."

The deity said to them:

"And the story of the journey will end on the seventh day of this trip. Thus, when the journey reaches the night of the seventh day, this little story beside the campfire on a boring night will also end."

This sentence was easy to understand, and neither Shard nor anyone else raised questions.

"In the boundless forest, the old horse, parrot, unicorn, faithful hound, and traveler under the moon gathered in a small camp, and after a night of dreamless rest, decided to set off together for the distant. The good rest left you full of stamina, energized, and today’s journey would therefore require less effort. The first day starts—"

As the deity narrated slowly, in the misty woods around them, there really ca sounds of animals and humans walking, and birds flapping wings. The five people looked around, and the sounds were unusually clear, as if sothing really was wandering at the edge of the bonfire’s light.

"Next, it will be determined what events you will encounter today."

The deity smiled and pointed to the stack of cards. Shard looked at the Witch, who looked at her Maid. The girl dressed in a black skirt reached out to draw a card and showed it to everyone. The card depicted a small house made entirely of candy:

"The journey through the woods quickly reduced their stamina, and by noon, the travelers felt hunger. You plan to camp for a rest, but the faithful hound, at this mont, caught the sweet scent of candy. Following the scent, you find a small Candy House in the woods, and the owner of the house, an Old Witch with silver-white hair, stands smiling at the door, inviting you inside for lunch together."

As the deity’s voice fell, the scent of candy genuinely wafted from the decayed woodland. Shard had just woken up and wasn’t very hungry, but the other four were in a long state of not having eaten, and even though they had eaten so of the food Shard provided, it didn’t stop them from feeling hungry now.

The colorfully dressed bard’s stomach let out a loud growl, which made the self-proclaid upper-class man quite embarrassed.

"I truly feel like sothing is watching us. There’s indeed a Relic present, though it doesn’t seem to be the actual thing."

The Witch uneasily looked around the surrounding woods and whispered her discovery to Shard. Shard comforted her:

"In my experience, as long as we don’t leave this camp, everything will remain within the journey’s story. Don’t worry."

"But I’ve heard of sothing like this in stories, a Relic called ’Sweet Trap.’"

The Witch whispered, seeing Shard’s rather confident expression, sohow infected by him, she stopped worrying:

"Travelers should not enter that house, that’s beyond doubt."

She said.

"What do you all think?"

Shard asked the other three, who apparently didn’t expect to have a chance to express their opinions. Seeing the Witch didn’t object, the Old Knight, whose face was flushed by the campfire, spoke first:

"We cannot enter. Breaking into a strange place, once is enough."

The Bard had the sa opinion:

"I’ve read many fairy tales, and this is clearly so kind of trap that can lead people to lose their minds. Sweet candy, in itself, is a taphor."

The Maid’s answer was quite brief:

"Miss is right."

"Then let’s take a detour and leave, and camp in a safe location."

Shard thus conveyed the group’s decision to the Deity, the traveler with the backpack at their side nodded and continued to narrate their story in a low voice:

"The vigilant travelers declined the invitation of the Old Witch, they did not step into the realm of the Candy House. But as they decided to leave, the Old Witch in the house made a request to them: Since you refuse to have lunch with , please leave that Noble Unicorn to keep

company. As a reward, I can give one of you the ability to turn any object into candy."

"Huh?"

Upon hearing this, the Witch was startled, then realized that her negative trait had been triggered, and it appeared already in the first travel scene. She imdiately looked at Shard, who gave her a reassuring look:

"We cannot leave our companion behind, the Unicorn is very important to our team. If we lose a companion so easily at the beginning of the journey, then no one should expect to reach the End Point."

Shard said to his companions, and the n and the Maid nodded in agreent.

The traveler telling the story accepted his decision:

"The travelers refused the Old Witch’s request in the Candy House, an angered Old Witch then wanted to keep you all. Entering the combat phase, the Witch shot a rainbow-colored beam at the brightly feathered parrot flying in the sky. Others can choose to leave imdiately or join the fight."

"Huh?"

This ti it was the Bard who was surprised, but compared to the confident Witch, he seed worried while holding his cards. Fortunately, Shard still insisted on his previous opinion, not giving up his companions just because he’s a ’useless’ man.

"No need to fight. I will offer a treasure to the Old Witch so she will let us go."

The Witch Aleira Andriana spoke up, and Shard also looked at her as she tossed her hair back:

"Why so surprised? Since I ca voluntarily, how could I co unprepared? n, never underestimate any Witch."

Saying this, she took out a Ruby from the pocket of her skirt. It was no ordinary Ruby, a fiery fla danced within the gemstone, and Shard even vaguely felt the "Fire of the Primordial" in his body longing to devour this fla. But unfortunately, Shard lacked the ability to consu flas, and Sister Delphine was obviously not present at this point in ti.

"This is ’Gemfire’, a fla born within a natural gemstone with a one in a million chance. This pure fla can grant Witches with corresponding talents the ability to substitute gemstones for Spellcasting Materials. Its value cannot be asured by money."

Despite saying this, Miss Andriana still decided to offer the gemstone. This should be a hidden rule of this travel story because the Deity accepted it. The gemstone in the Witch’s hand automatically flew into the campfire behind the Deity, and as it disappeared in the flas, the story reached its corresponding turning point:

"The gemstone that fell from the Unicorn’s saddle caught the eye of the Old Witch in the Candy House. She accepted the Unicorn’s offering and decided to let you all go. After the parrot was hit by the rainbow beam, its wings turned into candy and thus were restored. Before you left, the Old Witch posed a challenge to you: I have three candies, one contains deadly poison, one can satiate your hunger, and the other can grant you the ability to transform any food into candy; each person can choose only one, and each must select one. Of course, you can also choose to leave and ignore the challenge from , the Old Witch of the Candy House."

The Deity smiled at the five, waiting for their decision. Shard and the Witch Andriana exchanged glances:

"I want to give it a try, I have strong poison resistance."

This was the confidence gained after that serious illness.
