Chapter 1509: Chapter 1509: Harvest
Three coins have a shiny golden color, essentially made of "Demon Gold" produced in the Third Era. The main difference from ordinary Demon Gold is that these gold coins contain Whisper Elents.
This is a fairly famous Relic, also considered by Luviya to be the most prevalent Currency Relic. Apart from the nature of Demon Gold itself, which is forged with souls, the use inevitably deepens the soul’s fall, and the Whisper Elent grants this coin an additional Trait.
Each [Demon Gold Coin] used with the most basic Spirit Summoning Ritual can summon a demon. The quality of the summoned demon varies depending on the number of coins used. As long as the [Demon Gold Coin] used for summoning was not lost, one could use the coin’s power to enslave the summoned demon; but if the summoning coin falls into the demon’s hands, it gains complete freedom.
Of course, if there are fewer than ten coins, at most they can summon a Lower Demon. For the doctor, so few coins are not very useful, so they were left to Shard. Coincidentally, Shard has always needed a large number of special currencies.
And among the items the demon promised Shard a "six out of one" choice, information about "Desire" had already been recovered by Desire itself. The remaining five items were all stored in the mirror.
Shard first took out a white Bone Ring engraved with elderflower. As soon as the Scribe Level Relic [Ring of Immortality] appeared, a cat’s eyes lit up, and it imdiately darted towards Shard’s finger.
But Shard had long been prepared for this cat; when he heard about the ring’s function, he guessed that his cat would be very fond of it:
"It increases lifespan, counteracts the effects of Arcane Technique or Relics that consu lifespan, at the cost of permanently grinding down emotions. As long as it is not used frequently, it does not greatly affect humans, but is fatal to small animals such as cats or dogs."
Shard whispered the Trait of the beautiful ring in his hand, then read the sentence engraved on the ring:
"The weaving of life and death is the answer to the aning of life."
"ow~"
Blocked Mia, obediently squatted aside watching Shard, so Shard beckoned it over, then slipped the Bone Ring onto the cat’s tail.
This ring, when worn, can exert the function of "extending lifespan"; under such circumstances, negative traits will not appear. But if it’s to counteract the side effects of Shard’s Breath of Ages or to counteract side effects of the Plague Doctor’s Ring that consu non-human lifespan, then negative traits will appear.
Therefore, unlike previous rings, Shard was quite supportive of his cat wearing the "Ring of Immortality" for years. After all, he doesn’t want Mia to one day leave him, even just thinking about that possibility makes him feel such heartache that he can hardly breathe.
"Transformation, Fish Training, Vampire Kind, Plague Doctor, Immortality... Mia’s fifth ring."
Shard laughed while stroking the cat that beca quite obedient with its "new toy," enjoying the nice feel while pondering whether he should make so cat toys himself to normalize Mia’s hobbies.
[Is the current feel nice, or was the feel an hour ago nice?]
"She" suddenly asked next to Shard’s ear, causing Shard’s hand to tremble, making the cat underhand quite displeased.
Next, Shard took out a dark brown wine bottle, with even a hand-drawn label on it.
The background of the label is a vineyard, with small words written in pencil below:
[Inexhaustible Wine, Await the Wild Heart.]
This is a Poet-Level Relic [Bacchus’ Bottle]. Usually, Circle Sorcerers have very rigorous rules for naming Relics, so since a Relic contains the description "Bacchus," it very likely has connections with so Deity.
However, not only one Deity is related to wine. For example, Shard knows [Vampire Duke Lowell], who is one of them, so Shard was also unclear about the bottle’s origin.
"Let
have a taste."
He uncorked the bottle, poured a small glass of red wine, then held the glass up to observe its color under the light of a Divine Statue, only then rembering that he doesn’t know how to taste wine.
"ow~ ow~"
"You can’t drink wine."
Scolding the greedy cat, Shard downed the wine in the glass and felt that though it wasn’t as good as his "Blood Brew," it was still worthy of being called fine wine.
"Let’s store it in the basent first; currently money isn’t tight, so I’m not in a hurry to sell it."
Thus the bottle was placed by Shard against the wall of this Hidden Space, standing next to [God’s Gift Box].
"And then there’s this, oh, this thing is really heavy."
A large black book with a flat skull embedded on the surface was taken out, with bright blue light in the skull’s eyes. However, perhaps because it was beside the Ancient God Statue now, the book didn’t tempt Shard to open it this ti.
"A dangerous item."
Shard evaluated the book called the "Malbas Demon Book" and remarked that it wasn’t a Relic, but a collection of demon-related knowledge, similar to the "Immortality Magic" and the "Book of Pink
