Capítulo 1483: Chapter 1483: Witches Reunited

The curtain had already spread open in front of them. Fiona, quite believing in Shard, charged towards it. However, even though the curtain was right there, in the current mont where the frozen river of ti was being restored by a deity and where instant movent was impossible, it still took so ti for the two of them and the cat to fully enter.

And that deity, sitting high behind the curtain of the distant palace, finally made a real move against them after seeing the curtain open. Before this, concerned about the Tree Father and unwilling to hurt Fiona, the deity hadn’t seriously fought the two.

The night turned into a giant hand, appearing behind them in an instant. Even though they were almost touching the black curtain floating in the air, the giant hand of night could still grab them.

But at that mont, the unruly cat had already half erged from Shard’s arms.

Its two hind paws remained in Shard’s outer coat, bracing against the fabric to stabilize its balance, while its front paws climbed onto Shard’s shoulder, allowing its little cat’s head to peer over and look behind him.

Shard and Fiona were unable to turn back at that mont, so only Mia’s amber eyes saw the pitch-black giant hand. The cat’s excellent night vision even allowed its sight to penetrate the hand and through the distant hole in the palace’s terrace door, to see the deity seated high behind the curtain.

The deity and the cat locked eyes, and the curtain in front of the forr suddenly ignited with golden fla, while the weak and pitiful cat showed a terrified expression, completely frightened.

In its fright, the still-glowing cat, following its instinctual reaction to scare off enemies, cried out:

“ow!”

The cat’s cry echoed through the sky of the City of Eternal Night, and the sudden burst of golden light, like the sun, drove away most of the night behind Shard and Fiona, even lighting up the night sky, revealing the true starry sky and moon.

Although Shard and Fiona could notice the strong light appear behind them, they didn’t have the luxury to turn and see what had happened.

“The sun.”

Soone whispered in the long night, and the cry of the cat shattered the long night that had frozen in the rain.

The night did not pursue them again, and even the parts of the City of Eternal Night illuminated by the cat in the sky were not covered again by the thick night.

This brief pause allowed Fiona to finally lead Shard and Mia completely through the curtain in the night sky. Perhaps because the curtain was not used normally, it stayed fixed in the sky of the City of Eternal Night and then slowly rged with the nightfall.

“Oh!”

Shard and Fiona embraced, rolling a few tis in the corridor covered in white ash before struggling to sit up.

Their clothes had mostly turned white, and even the orange and white cat had turned into a mostly white, comical appearance. Of course, Mia shook her body vigorously, shaking off the ash and successfully avoiding giving Shard any dreadful ideas about a “cat wash” or sothing similar.

And upon leaving the City of Eternal Night, Shard’s maze lock officially ended. Fiona returned to her normal Twelfth Rank state, as it wasn’t actually she who cast the spells; even though she had used power beyond her rank, she did not have any side effects herself.

The Red Dragon Girl, feeling the aftereffects, sat on the ground hugging Shard, looking at the curtain hanging on the ancient brick wall behind them. The night, like ink, followed them into the corridor, but only left mottled traces there. The deity’s power did not pass through the curtain, reaching areas outside the City of Eternal Night.

“We’re safe.”

Upon confirming their safety, she finally realized her entire body felt drained, not from injury, but from the aftermath of fear. The mory of a near-death encounter seed still vivid before her eyes, while the warm embrace and the cat’s paws persistently trying to push away from Shard’s arms told her they truly escaped from a deity.

“Yes, we’re safe.”

Shard was experiencing the weakness following the use of his maze lock, but he was barely able to stand up:

“Quick, quickly move, I only have 3 minutes this ti. Now there’s a little over a minute left, I must watch you leave here, hurry.”

He stroked the no-longer-glowing cat, but didn’t bla it for once again changing from a toy on its own. He could feel that without the cat’s solar warmth earlier, they might not have had the energy to pass through the curtain at the end.

Of course, Shard was unaware that this cat had actually used its cry to frighten sothing.

But when Fiona helped him to his feet, Shard suddenly thought, this was the first ti since so long that he left the task location designated by the Tree Father in past tis. This was quite a fresh experience for him, and he could make more attempts in the future.

“The direction of my maze lock positioning should be ‘ho’, but I have no ho in this era, the exit might be dangerous.”

“I’ll support you. Shard, I can handle dangers too… you’ve already done enough for .”

Fiona felt tears welling up, and the Red Dragon Girl carefully supported Shard, noticing his condition was so terrible:

“You’ve overexerted your Spirit; avoid intense fighting for a while.”

Saying this as she supported Shard forward. Compared to the night of the City of Eternal Night, the shadows that had seeped into the corridor were insignificant, and she herself could even pass through them directly.

Of course, this was also related to staying too long in the City of Eternal Night, which had greatly enhanced her resistance to the darkness.

Mia also noticed that Shard was not in a good state, so she obediently curled back on Shard’s chest. Fiona, holding back her tears, asked again:

“You said you can only co to the City of Eternal Night four tis. The fifth ti, you ca to save . What kind of price did you pay?”

“It’s okay, it’s okay. I promised to save you.”

Shard shook his head and then deliberately changed the topic:

“Do you recognize this corridor?”

“Yes, Miss Feliana has already beco a formal mber of the council. I followed her with Teacher Orland and walked this path. At the end, is it the door leading to the council?”

“No. Did Miss Feliana ntion what this corridor represents? Is it part of the Witch Council?”

“No.”

Fiona hurriedly shook her head. She could tell that Shard really cared about this answer:

“Teacher Feliana said that the council has nothing to do with this corridor, but soone hid the only door leading to the council here, so the witches need to enter the corridor first to reach the door.”

“What is the corridor? So unknown location? Subspace? Or sothing even more mysterious?”

“We don’t know. Teacher Feliana and Teacher Orland don’t know yet either. But they said this corridor is quite ancient, very ancient, older than any ruins or tombs they’ve seen.”

The path wasn’t long, and they didn’t need to observe their surroundings. Therefore, even while supporting Shard, Fiona quickly brought him to the exit. Shard knew that outside the exit was the Randall Valley of the Fifth Era, but he didn’t know what the state of that Creekland was at this ti.

His ti was running out. If there was still a battle to face, he certainly couldn’t handle it. And Fiona evidently knew Shard’s thoughts as well. She did not lead Shard directly through the exit. Instead, she reached into her small carried bag and brought out a glove she had just finished knitting.

It was a glove for the right hand, sothing Shard saw her knitting in the tent when he returned to the “Place of Dusk.”

Fiona stuffed that glove into Shard’s pocket:

“It contains my hair and… so scales, providing better protection than ordinary Dragon Hide Gloves. Please escort

here; you don’t need to accompany

further. You’ve done enough for .”

“But…”

“Will we be able to et again?”

Her crimson eyes looked closely at Shard, and the warmth of her soul was hotter than Dragon Fla.

“We will, we definitely will. That is also my promise.”

Shard assured her confidently, and thus Fiona, disregarding the disheveled state they were in, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. She wanted this to be their farewell and to forever rember this mont, awaiting their uncertain reunion in the distant future.

Yet, Shard still worried that there might be other dangers outside the corridor. He insisted on ensuring Fiona was safe before leaving.

Thus, as they kissed, he used the strength he had barely regained to escort Fiona through the corridor’s end into the nightfall.

Although there were torches for lighting in the corridor, upon returning to normal space belonging to the Fifth Era, the blinding sunshine forced Shard to close his eyes to adjust.

He heard many footsteps, bird calls, and the sound of babbling streams. He slled the fragrance of nature, the scent of flowers, and the aroma of black tea.

“Black tea?”

He barely opened his eyes and saw through the glass that outside the house was the natural scenery of spring in the River Valley. Birds were chirping on the trees, and a clear stream flowed beside the house, reflecting the sunlight filtering through the woodland, creating picturesque ripples.

“Glass?”

This was a glass house, approximately hexagonal in shape, and from the height, it seed to be on the second floor.

The house was spacious, and outside, young won dressed in maid outfits were tending to the flowerbeds. anwhile, the won on the first floor were sorting through docunts, laughing while cleaning up or processing alchemical materials and potion ingredients in the workshop.

A girl pushing a tea trolley appeared at the top of the stairs leading to the second floor. The entire second floor of the glass house was simply decorated. A mahogany bookshelf leaned against the left side of the floor, while small flowers were placed on the windowsill. Hanging on a rack by the wall was a violet pointed hat, and spices were slowly wafting from a censer on the alchemy workbench.

And in front of the kissing Shard and Fiona, a parasol opened indoors in the glass house. Under the parasol was a round white afternoon tea table, set for the afternoon, with white porcelain tea sets scattered alongside two letters and a few books.

On both sides of the table sat two won looking at them, who had suddenly appeared.
