Chapter 1481: Chapter 1481: Promise and Prayer

"How did it go?"

As the golden and black swirling vortex appeared on the stage, Shard and Miss Sylvia walked out hand in hand.

Luviya, who was waiting for news at the Wilder Opera House, imdiately ca over, with Tifa following behind her.

"The results are very good. I’ll activate the key imdiately. Oh, is there any new news?"

Shard also asked, and Tifa nodded slightly, looking at Shard with so concern:

"Miss Beyas witnessed the blooming of the first Randall Flower. That happened over an hour ago."

"So as estimated, the Mad Guardian is finally about to appear?"

Miss Sylvia asked, and Luviya was very shocked in her reply:

"Let’s talk about it after Shard cos back, anyway, it’s only three seconds."

Shard took out the Ti Key, looked at the cat on his shoulder, and in the end, did not hand it over, but patted it and turned it into a toy to put away.

"Mia will stay with ; I already know what to do next. By the way, where is Ciris?"

He was still worried about that not-so-perfect ending.

"Don’t worry, we haven’t let her leave the opera house all night. She’s now helping prepare magic potions in the basent."

Luviya said, and only then did Shard relax:

"No need to worry about her needing to sacrifice herself. I’ve got sothing good this ti."

He took out the Heart of the Earth (fragnt) from his pocket, and compared to the golden pebble, it was much more than just larger in size. The ancient and heavy power almost instantly suffocated the girls who noticed this stone, and behind Luviya, a Ring of Fate even directly appeared, subsequently inscribed with the Miracle Soul Rune of the Heart of the Earth.

Shard made no comnt on this.

"May the World Tree protect

in infinite ti."

After a simple hug, Shard bid farewell to the girls who were worried about him and then inserted the nearly completely shattered key into the door fra before him.

[Outlander, you have stepped into the "Ti Corridor."]

[ssage from the Ancient God "Father of the Infinite Tree":]

[Autumn of Year 3028 in the Fifth Era, Northern Continent, City of Eternal Night.]

[Event: Whisper of the Veil of Eternal Night.]

[Duration: 3 minutes (5/4).]

[You have received additional information.]

[The shadow of the Father of the Infinite Tree watches you.]

Compared to a normal Ti Task, the content obtained this ti was relatively brief. There were no additional tasks, and no additional task rewards, and the number of attempts beca the bizarre "5/4." Shard knew that being able to have one extra chance was already the limit, and he did not hope for a second chance.

"So, I need to solve the problem in one go!"

After entering the white mist, he didn’t imdiately step forward but stopped to take a deep breath.

Once he continued forward, he was afraid he would imdiately return to the hall of the Old God of Night. He needed to prepare well and prepare on how to face the Old God while taking Fiona away.

"Burning divinity is infeasible, but the Divine Afterglow is still useful."

He patted himself, and although he didn’t hold much hope, he still carried so relics when departing, and he even held [Night Watchman] in his hand. But at this mont, he had brought none of these items.

"So, I can only rely on this."

He took out the parchnt with writings from Miss Writer and Her Highness the Princess and looked at the story inscribed on it for the last ti.

After telling the story to the bygone Deity just now, although the Spirit Rune hadn’t appeared temporarily, the familiar throbbing in his heart already appeared. For Shard, obtaining and forming these "Fairy Tale Enchantnts" has never had storytelling as the most important part. The most important part is his own understanding of these fairy tales and the qualities of the traits he possesses.

This is not a power that can be comprehended through intentional learning; it requires using one’s own story to reflect those fairy tales.

From the beginning, Shard obtained the "Little Match Girl" due to his "compassion" and knew that the Fairy Tale Enchantnt could not be learned through deliberate arrangents. Now, he realizes another opportunity has arrived.

"Fiona, I will safely take you away."

Every step forward felt the divine pressure and the tingling sense of crisis urging Shard to leave such a dangerous place, but rembering his promise, Shard strengthened his resolve.

The thick steam mist mingled with the white fog around him. With the sound of steam whistles and bells resonating in the silent space, a Ring of Fate radiating brilliant four-color light appeared behind Shard.

He gripped the parchnt prepared for him by Dorothy and Lecia, then finally took another step forward.

"Shard!"

Monts ago, facing the deity sitting behind the curtain, Fiona was embraced by the man in front of her. In the next instant, the white fog erged from an unknown corner, directly taking Shard away from her embrace.

Witch Fiona Drago could never express her feelings in words at that mont. Shard’s departure signified the disappearance of the sun and moon’s radiance. Endless night invaded, representing the opposite of dayti, embodying darkness, shadows, and emptiness, imdiately sending her consciousness into the deepest dreams.

At this mont, ti seed to stop in the eyes of the Dragon Witch. She had nurous questions and an unconcealed discontent. As life and consciousness reached their final monts, the mories of a relatively short life flashed before her eyes, revealing how incredibly fortunate she was.

Although born into the Red Dragon Nobility, due to her mixed blood and her mother’s awkward background, she had an unhappy childhood. After leaving the family, she lived independently. On a sumr afternoon under the blazing sun, in a nearly forgotten-na town, she hid her tail with a torn cape for shade. While selling sunscreens at the Fourth Era castle ruins, she t Miss Mana Feliana and Miss Briony Orlando, who ca with umbrellas.

"What did I do back then?"

It was a long-ago mory; she only rembered being short and big-eyed. That day’s sunshine was unbearably hot.

"I seed to have courageously pitched my homade magic potions to them, then accidentally bit my tongue..."

Thus, in ragged clothes, she was bewilderingly brought to their hotel by the teacher, leading to the present Red Dragon Witch Fiona Drago.

Life after eting the teacher was more extraordinary than the fairy tales she heard as a child, playing with her tail in her mother’s arms. Four years ago in the Valley of Dead Silence Gadis Library, seeing the young man arriving in the snow made her feel she had perhaps only been lost in a long illusion during that oppressively hot afternoon. Maybe after waking, she would still worry about the source of dinner and whether she could sell the magic potions with a short shelf life.

But none of that mattered anymore. The long second, due to Shard’s chaotic ritual, finally allowed the bloodline-ascended Fiona to clearly perceive the traces of ti. In the terror of life and death and the pressure of the deity, she surpassed any mortal of this era and truly touched the power of ti.

On the ancient scroll she saw the secret technique of "Ti Stop" years ago, mastered due to her desire to live. But this couldn’t save her; it only gave Fiona the chance, in the last second, to contemplate her life, think about those she missed, reflect on her story, and recall the lullabies and tales her mother sang during childhood.

Ultimately, in the last mont, what ca to her mind was the story Shard told and she illustrated a few minutes ago. Sa ordinary origins, sa oppression by other family mbers.

Only the fortunate Cinderella prayed to the night and received the desired crystal shoes and pumpkin carriage, while Fiona chose to leave her family to live independently, thus eting the teachers, eting him.

Shard’s face seed to be the last thought in her life. Despite feeling guilty about her teacher, Fiona was willing to forgive herself for this small selfishness.

"If I, too, pray to the moon and night, will I receive your response?"

She softly asked in her heart, knowing Shard’s departure was also accidental, even if he returned, it couldn’t change what’s about to happen. Yet resentnt over impending death, longing for life, and unspeakable emotions compelled her to have such a thought.

Thus, just as her body was swallowed by the night and about to lose consciousness, she whispered in her heart:

"Praise Silvermoon, praise you."

Nothing seed to happen, but amidst the final sigh, she received her wishful response.

Suddenly, within the enveloping white mist, she heard Shard’s voice again:

"This is my promise."

In an instant, Silvermoon’s brilliance dispelled all surrounding darkness once more. The four-color aura flickered on the Ring of Fate behind her. Erging from the white mist to this present ti, Shard enveloped the trembling Fiona, then turned directly to the figure high behind the curtain now finally clear to him.

"I promised, so I will definitely fulfill it."

Vast swathes of night receded from the space upon Shard’s return, then sothing moved. Power from The Great One, utterly unleashed without reservation upon Shard. The figure sitting behind the curtain didn’t visually shift, yet Shard knew "It" had reached out to him.

"You shouldn’t have returned!"

The words were spoken, and only then did the Red Dragon Girl realize such a sentence shouldn’t be uttered now, like lines from a witch’s romantic novel, but Shard didn’t mind:

"I promised."

The fluttering heart reached its peak with these spoken words. The deity’s approaching power made the divine glow on her surface burst, and the golden light on her body dragged backward like flas under wind pressure.

The parchnt tightly grasped by Shard burned fiercely, and the delicate Draleon universal language letters flew one by one toward the rapidly spinning Brass Ring. The story was etched onto the Ring of Fate, while also etched into Shard’s heart.

Ti endowed the story with power; civilization imbued the fairy tales with depth. Though not yet widely circulated in the current Fifth Era, the fairy tales couldn’t sufficiently support a Circle Sorcerer’s power. Thankfully, Shard didn’t belong to the Fifth Era, nor did the girls who penned the parchnt belong to this ti.
