The final sentence caused the officers below the stage to burst into hearty laughter. These officers, on average older than Lord Malin, did not feel belittled in the slightest. This is the way of the army—Lord Malin has genuinely earned everyone’s respect and recognition.

The first person introduced by Lord Malin, Jon Svenson, stepped onto the stage. His proud deanor made his younger brother Link regret not having a cara or recording Demon Crystal in hand. Otherwise, he would have captured the mont when his brother looked like an arrogant rooster.

"Daniel Wallace, hello, Senior Jon." Daniel smiled and extended his hand.

"Hello, Your Highness. Lord Malin’s introduction has flattered both and my soldiers. We are soldiers of the kingdom, and we will also be your soldiers." Without hesitation, Jon shook his hand.

After Jon stepped back, Lord Malin began introducing the second individual.

One by one, brigade commanders were called onto the stage. The soldiers below grew increasingly excited because they heard Lord Malin praising them and their commanders.

Watching all this unfold, even the resentnt in Link’s heart diminished significantly.

Indeed, the Wallace family was wrong, but what does that have to do with Daniel? He is the sa age as them... He’s rely a young man trying to survive.

His family should shed blood for their wrongs, but as long as this young man can stand on the front lines and face Chaos head-on, Link felt he could not bring himself to hate him.

A Svenson family heir—repaying grievances directly.

"Link."

Link suddenly turned alertly toward the na caller on the stage and saw Lord Malin gesturing to him: "Yes, stop staring at , co up here."

Link pointed at himself, still unsure why Lord Malin was calling him.

"Yes, Link. I am calling you. I want to introduce you. Since I called your brother first in the officer tier, you’ve been placed first in the junior officer tier. Don’t mind my designations too much, my friend," Lord Malin said with a smile.

...Would I, could I even bla you, Lord Malin?

With a bitter smile, Link was pushed onto the stage by his peers. The young adjutant was clueless about why Malin would recomnd him—he was just the Marshal’s adjutant after all.

"Link Svenson, unlike his brother, this peer of ours seems to prefer being an adjutant. But don’t underestimate his talents. He is no different from his brother, rely lacking the chance to lead troops in battle. Trust , Daniel, if you ever find yourself with a unit that has lost its commander and the staff office can’t provide a replacent in ti, don’t hesitate. Let Link take the helm. The honor of the Svenson family and the sense of duty in Link’s veins will not disappoint you."

After speaking, Lord Malin even patted Link’s shoulder.

This gesture left Link no choice but to extend his hand to et Daniel’s, which had been prepared long ago.

"I will rember your recomndation," Daniel said. He also patted Link’s shoulder. "Lord Malin has recomnded you to . I trust his judgnt, so—will you co to be my adjutant?"

"But I’m Marshal Constantine’s adjutant..." Link hadn’t finished his sentence before regretting it deeply because the Crown Prince turned his head toward the Marshal’s seating area not far away.

This Wallace bastard really can’t be trusted—not even for a punctuation mark.

As Daniel and Marshal Constantine discussed Link’s status, Link was already filled with complete regret.

Whatever else they said after that, Link had tuned out entirely. In summary, one thought consud him—Link greatly regretted it, deeply regretted, inconsolably regretted.

Regret to the point of tears, regret to the point of agony.

"Link, cheer up! You will be the Crown Prince’s adjutant in the future." Lord Malin gave Link a hearty pat on the shoulder while grinning.

Link tried his best to muster a smile.

That’s just great, isn’t it! You thick-browed, bright-eyed traitor, betraying the pure and innocent bond of friendship we shared!

The fury in Link’s heart was blossoming powerlessly.

......

"You’ve always cared for these young n." Watching Malin step off the stage, Mr. ng smiled and spoke in the Northern tongue.

"The soldiers believe in ; they entrust with their most precious lives. But I have no choice." Malin responded in Thainan and accepted the military coat that ng handed him. "What brings you to today, my lord?"

"You ntioned you’d travel with your household, following us along the tumultuous route—ships, frequent port stops at islands close to the Dark Zone, occasional large Spirit attacks, severe danger. Frankly, we have no confidence in protecting your household. In fact, I doubt even you could ensure everyone’s safety all the way through."

Mr. ng’s candidness garnered so goodwill from Malin. "It’s fine. I won’t personally bring them but will instead establish so sort of connection with them. You know I can operate in the shallow regions of Subspace. This way, even if they live in the Western Human World, I can return to them swiftly when needed. And if the fleet encounters disaster, I can ensure the survival of any stranded survivors."

Malin’s response prompted Mr. ng to nod. Following behind Malin, he added, "Since you have a solution, that’s great. However, I still believe it would be best if Lord Malin could assu the position of envoy directly."
