District Six, Peace Avenue, No. 899.

The aged woman sat with her eyes open, looking towards the front door from the living room of her own ho: "Peace, do we have visitors?"

This is an inland district far from the harbor area, although it’s a high-status location with guaranteed safety, it’s still quite rare to have visitors at night.

Thus, she voiced her doubt. Quickly, a young chanical being with human-like skin walked over, except for its chanical eyes—chanical beings can’t fully resemble humans.

This child who looked like a grandson but, in fact, perford the duties of a butler, stood in front of the door and scanned the creatures outside the door, then turned his head to his master: "There are two very strange organic beings outside, ma’am."

"Strange, huh? It’s alright, with you here, Peace, open the door." The elderly woman smiled with a nod and at the sa ti, picked up the double-barreled shotgun beside the couch—it was her dearly beloved husband’s favorite piece when he was alive, who always liked to use it to scare her, the old hag.

Now that he was gone, this old hag could only go to the gun store to buy bullets and then load them into the chamber.

Before that ti, her husband had bought it for exactly thirty years, yet its barrels were still brand new to that day.

She sat there as her Peace opened the door for her.

Under the moonlight outside stood two adorable children, one was a beautiful-furred Panso cat child about ten years old, dressed in a gray casual outfit.

The other...well, quite interesting, with round ears and big eyes, was a very cute Dostic Fairy. The old woman tried to recall, but she still couldn’t think of any neighbor nearby who owned a Dostic Fairy, so she subtly turned the muzzle away—no matter what, don’t point the gun at the two cuties.

"Children, what’s the matter?"

"This is District Six, Peace Avenue, No. 899, right, ma’am?" The little cat held a letter, his question made the old woman smile and nod her head.

Of course, this is certainly District Six, Peace Avenue, No. 899. Although it’s a bit close to District Twelve, this is nonetheless a model safe community, far safer than those places beyond District Ten.

The old woman’s confirmation prompted the little cat to hand over the envelope: "Hello, Mrs. Malin, here is a letter. I’ve been entrusted to bring it to you."

Peace caught the letter, and the old woman sat up straight, watching her Peace bring the envelope to her. For so reason, the old woman bit her own lip until the letter was in her hands.

She trembled as she opened the letter, reading its contents; gradually, the smile faded from her face, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"My Peace..." She sobbed, and the little machine did not understand her feelings, but his master’s call had him sit before her. He reached out and held her hand.

"I’m here, master." He responded, though it sounded sowhat off-topic.

......

When Mars closed the door, the lady insisted on thanking them, which made Mars flee in panic, and all Malin could do was to smile and say goodbye.

Far from No. 899, Malin looked at Mars standing there, the child’s face full of desolation, and the sight of the old lady’s distressed crying was simply heart-wrenching.

"It’s sad, isn’t it." Malin patted his back.

"Yes, very sad. To have lost the last relative, it’s like ..." Mars fell silent for a mont, drew a breath, and looked at Malin: "I will not make any excuses for my actions of revenge. Killing is a sharp knife. The only difference lies in whose hands it rests. In the hands of the Dead Eyes group, they’ve hard so many people, their black market trades the freshest of organs, various victims’ belongings, and those victims who were kidnapped and lured from everywhere... I didn’t know why they were so brazen before."

To this, Malin nodded: "That guy had a point, ti accompanies us, as close as if glued. We can’t create a flawless, shadowless world. As long as there are dark thoughts in people’s hearts, we won’t be able to accomplish Purification. So, my child, all we need to do is to make sure we ourselves do right. My era has its own sky to nd, and your generation will have your own beauty to save."

Walking along the sidewalk, Malin gazed at the Milky Way overhead, the world is so beautiful, it’s a pity that Faye and others can’t see it.

"Now it seems like soone is helping them. The Chief Inspector is my next target, but before that, I need to find that guy. I have fifteen bullets that need to be delivered individually." After saying this, Mars turned to look at Malin: "Ancestor, do you have any ti to spare?"

"Sure, I don’t know who called upon , but either way, I’m not sleepy right now. It would be nice to accompany you and see this world two thousand years later." After saying this, Malin pulled out a cigarette box and lit a cigarette for himself: "Speaking of which, do you want a cigarette? This is an old roll from Carterburg, a two thousand-year-old antique."

"Ah, I don’t smoke, but where did you pull that cigarette box from just now?" Mars appeared puzzled.

With the cigarette in his mouth, Malin stayed silent for a while, then he flipped his hand, and the cigarette box returned to his private space.
