"Lady Teresa, why did you beco a wizard?" Malin asked the lady before him in a gentle tone. To help soone, you must first understand what makes them worthy of your help. Malin looked at the lady, hoping his sincerity would elicit a genuine response.
"...I, it’s a long story. Are you really willing to listen to such a tale from a Dark Wizard?" Lady Teresa’s response was tinged with apprehension, doubt, and a sense of reminiscence and longing.
"Go ahead." Malin smiled, hoping the story could touch everyone’s heart.
Lady Teresa also smiled and began to recount her past.
She ca from the Northern Kingdom. There, she was the youngest daughter of a minor Noble family. Because of her talent in Spell Formation, her father, after much deliberation, decided to send her to the Mage Tower, which waived the fees for such an apprentice—In the North, the Mage Towers had the advantage.
It was there she t her future husband, also from a noble family in the Northern Kingdom and the youngest son. Their similar backgrounds, statuses, and positions allowed them to quickly acknowledge each other’s presence among the apprentices.
Until the age of fourteen, their love was as pure and beautiful as described in all the romance novels. That all changed when he was injured by a Curse—a venture into an underground ruin left the young man wounded by a rusty broken blade; the wound never healed but instead began to fester and worsen.
They started seeking cures, but even the Church was powerless. The Church believed it was the nature of the broken blade that caused it. So, Teresa found the blade, but the Church couldn’t determine the poison or the source of the Curse on the blade.
In the end, his family chose to give up—spending too much gold on an incurable younger son was unbearable for a Baron’s family.
The Mage Tower was also unable to help them. So, the young man chose to take his own life, but he didn’t succeed, because Lady Teresa proposed to him.
The couple, who had decided to unite, eventually beca wizards. With their foundation as Mages, they thoroughly understood the limitations and dangers of wizards. After circumventing these, the man lived for over a decade, until finally, unable to bear the pain and feeling his will crumbling, and to prevent himself from becoming completely deford, he begged Lady Teresa to end his life.
Lady Teresa fulfilled this promise, but she preserved her husband’s soul, sealing it within a Crystal Stone. For ten years, she had been searching for a way to resurrect her husband.
"Lord Malin, I wish to speak to John once more, to let him bathe in the sunlight again, to tell him I have never given up on him, that my fate is entwined with his, never to part for all eternity. But I have never had the chance. If possible, I would trade everything for just one opportunity, my life, my power, all could be bargaining chips, just to grant my soul freedom, for my soul belongs only to John."
As Lady Teresa finished speaking, everyone saw the circle at her feet—a sign detected and validated for its truthfulness. And Malin heard the sigh of Lord Chariot.
In the man’s eyes, there was no longer any sarcasm, only a sense of lant and sorrow.
"Do you have a way, Lord Malin?" The Lover Miss looked at Malin, her eyes filled with anxiety and anticipation.
You too seem to have a story, Lover Miss.
Thinking this, Malin considered for a mont before deciding to directly invite soone: "I am moved by your relationship with your husband, Lady Teresa, and I have decided to help you. Next, I wish to invite a distinguished guest. If anyone here is of evil alignnt or would rather not et the saintly figure from the Great Wilderness, you may leave now."
The wizards all showed a hint of surprise in their eyes, and Mr. Sigma exclaid in astonishnt, "You can invite him directly?"
Malin nodded, then, seeing that no one had left, said, "Since everyone is confident in their identity, then, Naless, do you have a mont?"
As Malin spoke, a passage opened imdiately behind him, and a child wearing a grey robe with similar features to Malin walked out, "Malin, you always call on at the most inconvenient tis."
Malin rolled his eyes at the markings on the kid’s face and recounted the entire situation, including that of Lady Teresa.
Throughout the assembly, one could see the faces of the wizards change color. When they heard Malin was an invader who had uprooted an organization conducting countless forbidden experints, several of the wizards turned pale.
"You wish to infuse the soul of this witch’s husband into one of those soulless bodies, but you also said those bodies are flawed, usually only possessing around ten years of life." Naless casually beckoned, and the projection of a perfect five-year-old child’s body suddenly appeared in front of everyone, "A perfect body, it seems the Old Humanity of this world has the power to rival that of gods, a reconstruction of the body by the life deity is nothing more. These imperfections are rely due to the raw material. If they had your genes, they could create perfect lives, with hundred-year lifespans, strong physiques, and a high affinity for Spell Formation... such a pity, they encountered the wrong you at the wrong ti."
"I know, so, Naless, do you think this can be done?" Malin asked.
"I am more curious about what you think," Naless replied, looking back at Malin.
"...Give Lady Teresa a chance, offer an end of love to a Dark Wizard born of love, which is far better than letting her twist in endless agony," Malin turned his head to look at Lady Teresa: "Madam, you said you could give your life for this one chance, is that right?"
"Yes, Malin, Your Grace! All I want is one opportunity to reunite with John." The lady’s face was wet with tears, for she saw a glimr of hope.
"Very well, I will give you this chance, but, the body of your husband may only have ten years or maybe even just a few years of life left. Since you say you love him and he loves you, then... your life will be bound to his, and you will live and die together. He will live a few years longer for this, while you will lose so. Are you willing to accept such a condition?"
"I am willing. I have always longed for such an opportunity. As a wizard, I cannot seek help from the deities, but you, Lord Malin, you can help , and I will rember your kindness forever."
"I do not need your gratitude, just enjoy the rest of your lives with your husband." After saying this, Naless snapped his fingers, and the young boy began to grow, and visibly, Lady Teresa was also becoming younger. She took out a soul crystal stone, from which Naless extracted a soul, confird it, then cast the gray, misty human shape into the grown boy’s body.
"You are not one of great wickedness; congratulations, you have passed my test." Naless said with a smile. Malin then saw the grown boy open his eyes, looking around sowhat bewildered, caught the robe tossed by Malin, and said thank you, "By the way, where am I... Where is Rolinsa?"
"I am here, John." Lady Teresa, returned to a young girl, said before throwing herself into his arms.
"How have we beco young? Where is this place? I rember you helped find liberation..."
With the true-nad Lady Rolinsa’s explanation, Mr. John finally hugged her tightly: "No, how could you sacrifice so much for ."
"No, John, to be able to hear your heartbeat once again, to face death with you, this is the best reward fate could give . Thank you, Lord Malin, thank you, Lord of Justice. John, say no more, we will not be parted again."
"...We won’t, we will be together, until the day death cos knocking."
Malin watched the pair as they held each other tightly and sighed with emotion.
This is true love, moving, genuine love.
"Your kindness touches , Lord Malin," said Lord of Strength, bowing to Malin.
"I salute you, Lord Malin. I see real virtue in you," said Lord of Chariot, bowing his head.
"My kin have always said you are a true Sage. I once thought you too young, but now it seems I was the one with limited vision." Lord of Mage Tower placed his palms together and bowed.
"Do not thank ; I rely wish for lovers to find happiness... The one you should thank is Lord Naless." Malin finished speaking and bowed his head, touching his chest.
"You bow to for the sake of strangers’ reunion, Malin, you really are soone who makes even puzzled. Yet, it is because of this that the World Tree favors you so... With that, in the way of the kings of the earth, I hereby bestow this dwelling to you. From today on, you are the master of this place. Should you have new candidates suitable for symbiosis, inform , and I will bless them..."
As he said this, a passageway opened behind him. The deity turned to leave, pausing to look back at Malin: "Malin, perhaps, like , becoming a deity in charge of the affairs of love would suit you well."
"All this you speak of is still too soon for ; and thank you for coming."
"No need for thanks, to witness the reunion of true lovers is also a delight for ."
Malin watched the deity leave, then turned to the wizards: "Mr. John and Lady Rolinsa will depart through my channel. Do you have any questions?"
"No, My Lord," answered Lord of Strength first: "As a participant in the assembly, I’d like to tell you, Lord Malin, that you should also have a title of your own, and refrain from using your real na in gatherings."
"Then... call Star Observer," Malin nodded, using his own Sequence na as his title.
Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
