The Rhinoceros Team arrived at Tappahannock at 4:17 PM, and at the city’s entrance, Malin saw the creature that burned most intensely last night—a massive chunk of at, charred on the road leading out of town. It was quite a sight—at least a mountain of flesh.
"Corpse Fiend... I’ve never seen such a large type before. This thing was ignited and purified by the holy fla." Onor jumped down from the rhinoceros’s back and cut open the flesh mountain with the sword in his hand to check inside: "It’s well-done; even after sitting here all night, I can still sll the scent of at. What a pity, this at is inedible."
Malin shook his head with a smile—who would dare to eat this, not even the Spirits would touch it, after all, it sat there all night without a single shred taken away.
"Mr. Onor, please don’t bring up such a disgusting topic." The mages and Immortal Masters dismounted one after another, and Ling Zuo Zuo said with a frown as she looked at Onor from a distance.
"Let’s lead the team to hunt, see if there are any animals nearby." The hunting party ford by the trio of elves and their new friend Thainan extended an invitation. Jin Weili and Sang Zixin grabbed their hunting rifles and joined the group. After accepting the elves’ Wind Rider Technique, the six-person team quickly disappeared from Malin’s sight at a speed of fifty kiloters per hour.
Malin turned back and glanced at Onor, who was apologizing to the young ladies. Then he looked at Maya, who was dragging a corpse out from under the vehicle: "What have you found."
"A chaotic champion that has been dead for a long ti." Maya said, flipping the mummy over.
Malin approached to take a closer look and found that this was a Chaos Folk with obvious Mimicking Bird features.
Konsair walked over, joining them, and with just a glance, recognized the nature of this mummy: "Mimicking Bird Champion, where’s his Champion’s Scepter?"
Maya pointed to the broken pieces of the sword and scepter lying by the car.
"All shattered, that’s strange, doesn’t seem like it died yesterday. What did it co across?" Konsair wondered as he took out a silver-exuding dagger and began examining the chaotic corpse.
"Let know if you find anything, Konsair." Malin patted his shoulder, then walked towards the massive corpse being dragged from the street corner by two War Rhinoceroses under the command of a legendary figure.
"Look what I found, Your Highness, such a gigantic Chaos Spawn!" The young man exclaid excitedly, pointing to the Chaos Spawn behind him.
It was a gigantic Chaos Spawn, not humanoid but beastly, indicating it had received the favor of the Chaos Deity. Unfortunately, it could not enjoy that favor and ultimately turned into a creature akin to a dog... but not quite a dog, as no dog had mantis-like scythe joints on its back, nor eight legs like it.
Seeing its three golden energies, Malin clicked his tongue: "Looks like many big ones died last night."
On one side, a Mimicking Bird’s dog perished, and here a Sarlics Chaos Spawn also fell. The current question is, where on earth are the people of Terror Master and Kind Father?
"Yes! Your Highness! Could you sell this Chaos Spawn? Tonight, I’m preparing to offer it to Master Wu!"
While Malin was pondering this, the young Thainan lad put his clever plan into action, but Malin didn’t want to sell it: "I’ll give it to you, kid. My requirent is simple: everything you find in the city today I gift to you, but you must build an altar yourselves, sothing sturdy, as many will need to use it."
Delighted by Malin’s approval, the young man laughed happily.
With Malin’s reward, the youths spontaneously ford a group to search for Chaos Corpses in the city to use as offerings.
Once again, Malin turned his head, seeing Ling Zuo Zuo and several other Immortal Masters rummaging through sothing on the highway, occasionally shouting out in cheers.
Malin and Maya exchanged a glance, but Maya, busy observing Konsair examine the corpse, didn’t notice them, so Malin approached the Immortal Masters, and upon getting closer, found they were collecting fragnts of bone.
"What’s the use of these bone fragnts." To be honest, Malin was indeed curious about these bone fragnts, as they had stood in the wind and sun for eight thousand years, how could these bones possibly remain for eight thousand years.
"In the world of the Immortal Masters, these are considered spirit bones, usually the best ritual bones for divination." Ling Zuo Zuo replied.
"But these are human bones." Malin tilted his head.
"Yes, the human remains of those turned into wraiths are actually the best dium materials." Ling Zuo Zuo explained a bit about Thainan divination, in Thainan, those who practiced divination and prophecy were once like their Westland counterparts, where divination played with thrills and prophecy with lives. This was all changed a thousand years ago by a female diviner nad Li Qingyang, who discovered that using the human remains of souls turned wraiths during divinations and prophecies, could direct the possible curses and transformations onto the remains. This makes divination and prophecies safer.
"Being able to transfer curses and changes encountered during divination to the remains, this thing sounds very effective, do you know how to use it." If the girls were just simply collecting trophies, Malin would definitely have them discard these remains, but hearing that these remains could actually help their kind, Malin no longer stopped them—letting these purified poor souls’ remnants help the living, it’s thought these purified poor souls would be glad to accept it.
