The old man from the Jin family is quite a rigid fellow. You can tell because as soon as he discovered the difference with the dal, he imdiately ca rushing over. However, this ti it was just his lack of worldly experience shining through. After all, the outstanding service dals awarded by Sage Yu and Sage Qian usually went to craftsn — those who served the military and made outstanding contributions to the upgrading and replacent of military weaponry would receive this dal.
This ti, it was because Jin Weili did not have a formal military rank and was acknowledged by the sages for his contributions to knowledge transmission (which significantly reduced soldier casualties). Sage Lin, who was in charge of the teachers, and sages Sima and Zhao, who were responsible for military rits, thought they were not suitable for this task. Ultimately, Sage Yu stepped forward and, along with Sage Qian, awarded Jin Weili a dal. The rough n of the Jin family probably never received a dal from their branch of sages since the founding of their family line.
Thus, after comparing over thirty family heirloom outstanding service dals, the old man from the Jin family despairingly realized that his grandson had gone astray.
The rest of the story is known to everyone.
Malin left this matter to Sage Yu to handle. Out of a sense of apology for having beaten the old man’s face swollen, Malin gave a set of healing potions — not to him, of course, but handed them personally to Jin Weili, saying it was a good idea to have so life-saving ans on the front lines of battle with Wraiths and remnant Chaos forces every day.
The old man from the Jin family was also very happy— Jin Weili had transford from an unruly brat into a sensible good grandson, such a big change that the old man couldn’t even react. For him, who was no longer fighting on the front lines, spending his days guarding the old ho with his two wives, waiting for the sons and grandsons in the military to return on holiday, this vigil inspired Malin’s respect.
......
The next day, Malin left Tianjin, aiming for the ecological preservation pods and an unfallen segnt of the star ring at the top of the North Arican sky — sothing detected by newly launched satellites. Both Bixiu and Sostak No.3 suggested Malin should go for a look, as there seed to be an energy reaction on the ecological preservation pods.
Malin could now walk in outer space without anything, but considering there might be living people in the preservation pods, Malin donned his spacesuit to avoid driving them insane. Then he boarded the manned spacecraft with Sostak No.3 — much more expensive than a single-use launch rocket, but capable of docking directly with the ecological preservation pods, sparing Malin and Sostak No.3 the need to drift over using a small thruster.
There might still be people in those preservation pods.
As the spacecraft launched, Malin suddenly thought of going to the Moon. This ga tells the story of a man who lost his mory due to a childhood accident but stubbornly rembered the promise made with a girl during his childhood, even at the end of his life.
Sostak No.3, as a military AI, was dismissive of this story. In its eyes, it couldn’t compare to Galactic Paratrooper 3, though the latter was just trash except for its songs.
Malin certainly wouldn’t argue with Sostak No.3, as discussing human emotions with an AI that only knew about war would definitely be his problem.
Bixiu, however, fully understood Malin’s view. According to it, even in the Middle Ages, humans created nurous stories, and going to the Moon was one of the best among them.
"Love and good food should not be betrayed, but I doubt Sostak No.3 would understand, given that its emotion plugin has been defective for nearly four thousand years." Bixiu inadvertently revealed the cause of Sostak No.3’s rigid deanor.
Sostak No.3 was discontented yet powerless about this.
As the spacecraft lifted off, Sostak No.3 lay constrained by gravity in its seat. Observing Malin walk over to the spacecraft’s inner wall, rendering it transparent using a spell formation, it couldn’t help but comnt: "Making it transparent like this makes feel like I might fall out, Mr. Malin."
"No worries, aren’t you in your seat?" Malin chuckled in retort.
At this mont, the spacecraft was breaking free of gravity with rocket assistance. Malin, looking at the diminishing planet beneath him, felt genuine awe in experiencing the loss of gravity’s binding for the first ti: "Sostak No.3, did you know? This is my first ti leaving my holand and venturing into the dark and vast space."
"Space isn’t really fun. Hey, what music are you playing?" Sostak No.3 asked, puzzled by Malin’s actions on the panel and the music playing inside the spacecraft: "And this is the score from Seeking Paradise."
Upon hearing this, Malin turned his head, his tone filled with surprise as he retorted: "Didn’t you say this is just for organisms who are too late already?"
"Yes, I am embarrassed by my previous awkwardness," replied Sostak No.3 with a response only it could deliver with earnestness.
So Malin took to the control panel as the spacecraft separated from the booster main body. When it began to fly toward that section of the ecological preservation pod under its power, Malin turned the front segnt of the spacecraft completely transparent. In Malin’s eyes, the star ring, still co-orbiting in distant orbit, gradually grew larger, and atop it, Malin spotted the externally attached ecological preservation pod.
